This is just a general reminder .    Since when does speaking scripture to anyone not appeal to this generation .

I mean folks act as though speaking scriptures to the lost is the same as cursing .    Yet how often did JESUS speak  SOUND DOCTRINE to all that had breath .

Every word He spoke , IS SOUND DOCTRINE and we should use His words in all cases .

But instead preachers who don't know HIM at all,   have for years taught us this wrong approach which Aint working .

Their reasoning was of men , for they said these people don't want to hear scripture .

Truth is most don't .   But since when we do change the pure way of evangelizing with sound doctrine , to suit the ears of men who desire no truth .

To them it will be an offense .   And we cannot pander How we evangelize to their ears in hopes we can win them.  You wont .  at most you get only worse fish

and they teach even worse ways and soon , AS IN RIGHT NOW ,  it gets so bad that we even got churches saying ,   HEY don't say JESUS is the SON of GOD , because that OFFENDS .

Things just keep getting worse . And seeker friendly was a recipe for total destruction from its birth .   Let the SPIRIT lead and it will give you words .   Worry not about what to say

or not say .   SIMPLY follow CHRIST .

    Exactly

The Bible plainly teaches that people who take their own lives will have their names removed from the book of life, resulting in them going to Hell.

King Saul, and Judas are two classic examples,

Yea It worries me that believers don't already know this....

if we could commit suicide and still reach salvation how many of us would be left to actually spread Gods word?

    Id probably be gone.

someone contemplating suicide often does not realise how much they are loved, or how important they are to others. They may think they would be being unselfish to release their family from the burden of being around such an unhappy person. Reminding them of their value as a person, that they are loved, how God feels about them and treasures them, these things help.

condemnation and/or calling them selfish rarely helps in this situation. Gently bringing them round to a new way of thinking is best.

I'm not a psychologist. I'm a follower of Christ. and  it is SELFISH. I was suicidal, and people showing me pity made my situation even worse, it took people showing me truth. Truth is what helped me be free. As the word states.  You cannot show Truth without love they are inseparable , sounds like you all want to show only empathy. That only goes so far.

Ah i would never quote scripture at anyone. I myself would like to read the relevant bible verses, understand them then tell her about them. I first need to know what our Lord God tells us. I never spout scripture at anyone.

That's why we can choose how we witness.

    but I left this....

If we are followers of Christ doesn't everything fall back on Gods word?

    1 Peter 4:11

If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but just posting a Bible verse sounds rather cold especially to anyone who's walked that road. That sort of thing doesn't help, and can seem like a slap in the face to someone who's really hurting because it can sound like the person saying doesn't really care about them. I apologize if I'm wrong.

    Scripture is cold?

So point me please to actual Bible references please anyone then i can go back to her properly on this subject.

She said point her in the right direction so I did. sorry I cant sugar coat the word.

I do empathize with her situation, Ive been there myself, God had to pull me out. But this scriptures is for starters...

  6. Prosperity sermons.

Who doesn't like a good pick me up? Recently, or not so recently....many have been opposing this type of gospel, saying its not a gospel at all. and as Christians we should live humble, giving, not going after the finer things in life.

I disagree. to a certain extent.  I believe God wants me to live in prosperity , but if that gets in the way of my salvation, then heak no. AND BY THE WAY, that's with anything. GOD is a Jealous GOD. I believe we need to follow those important commands, and all of Gods commands. We must put him first, and we can live in prosperity, without guilt.  "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you"Matt 6:33

"37Jesus declared, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’d 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’e 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” MATT 22 37-40 KJV

Loving others is providing for others when they need it, if you are poor yourself how can you do this?

I don't believe God called us to be poor sick broke.  (poor in knowledge)  I don't believe we can be used by God with a victim mentality, you can be a victim and not carry with the the mentality of one. This is crippling, and doesn't build the kingdom of God.

You don't have to lay low because you follow Christ. ]

You will  know them by their fruit.

Have you seen the Black Israelites?

Yes, they used to be downtown in my city, no one liked them. Not even blacks.

I almost subscribed , but first I always do my own research before anything, but I couldn't get with them saying  black people being the lost tribe that God said would be in slavery for what 400+ , when clearly that already took place.

AGRRED, no one today. But most black Christians are Christians today because of colonialism on forced religion. This is the valid issue most blacks have an issue with today, and why they oppose Christianity as a whole, they link it with racism, is my point. And in a lot of ways it can be linked with racism, as well as murder (crusades). Doesn't change the fact that Christ is the only way  its people who are messed up.

I hear you on the lost political millennials thing .

I respect conservatives more than liberals. But I don't trust either party enough to say I'm Republican.

I just know that I don't subscribe to the "victim-oppression" narrative the media shoves down our throats.

lol, I feel like I have to make another post now. Good point. I will not be victimized, but I can still show empathy. God is so good.

    I agree.

Lecrae recently did something like that. That irritated me.

Being black and not being a Democrat is very frustrating in America.

Idk what I am , I am a lost political millennial. but I am black, for sure.

And I can no longer get jiggy with Lecrae. he irritates me.

  10. hello, all.

I will try to be a nice as possible, but some things cant be said without a little anger.

I am tired of the black community, attacking Christianity. (especially on other Christian blacks)

In recent years African Americans (some)  have come to the conclusion that they all came from Egypt and were past pharaohs.  I get it , you want to be apart of something great because of the past oppression (or current) , cool. But if you do just a little history search you will soon see most slaves came from the west coast of Africa, but sure, some Egyptians could have migrated to the west coast, ill let you have it.

But, to bodly say that other African Americans are lacking intelligence for being Christians, or that they should "wake up" is offensive. YES, slaves were forced to convert to Christianianity. YES they were beat, murdered raped, and countless other horrible acts to accomplish this. and I agree it was wrong and it hurts my heart. Because that's where the opposition comes from today, but that doesn't change the fact that Jesus Christ is the only way.  not your pineal gland, and certainly not King tut. I'm tired of being called a slave because I follow a "white jesus" if you think that, then we have to start from scratch.

Just in time for black history month.

(at work sorry for grammar issues kinda rushed lol)
