(Worthy Insights) – In an Instagram post from Tuesday, the Murrieta Police Department explained that it was placing Lego head images over suspects’ faces to mask their identities in accordance with state law. “On January 1st, a new law went into effect that restricts the how and when law enforcement agencies in California share suspect photos & mugshots,” the post reads. “The new law, Assembly Bill 994 & Penal Code 13665, now prohibits law enforcement from sharing suspect photos for nonviolent crimes, unless specified circumstances exist. Additionally, the new law requires agencies to remove suspect mugshots from social media after 14 days, unless special circumstances exist.” The Murrieta Police Department prides itself in its transparency with the community, but also honors everyone’s rights & protections as afforded by law; even suspects. The anti-free speech Big Tech giant has continued its sordid habit of suppressing right-leaning media sources while inundating users with left-leaning content. A new analysis from media solutions company AllSides once again found that Google News is overwhelmingly elevating news media from “the left” while burying news media from “the right.” AllSides monitored Google News’ homepage over a two-week period in 2023 and uncovered that a whopping 63 percent of 494 articles came from sources “on the left.” By contrast, only a negligible six percent came from sources “on the right.” In addition, the group also analyzed stories generated through Google News’s search results based on specific prompts like “Economy” and “Abortion,” which likewise produced heavily skewed results favoring the left. Their significant monetary donations and volunteering on farms and IDF bases in the country are invaluable. According to a recent report in the Washington Post, troops on the front line are running out of ammunition. Artillery shells are being rationed, forcing the Ukrainians to cancel planned assaults and making it hard to hold defensive positions against Russian attacks. A press officer for a Ukrainian battalion recently said that ammunition shortages had forced his unit to reduce its rate of firing by 90% since the summer. “We lack everything,” a member of another unit said. Although his comrades are highly motivated, he added, “You can’t win a war only on motivation.” He doubted they could hold their position much longer. As Ukraine struggles, its allies dither. Congress went home for the holiday without resolving the legislative impasse over continuing U.S. aid for Ukraine. Hungary’s pro-Russian leader vetoed the European Union’s proposed $52 billion assistance package. Last week’s contrived controversy is that Johnson took his teenage daughter to a “purity ball” in 2015. ABC News claims to have “unearthed” a German TV news segment featuring Johnson, his wife Kelly, and his daughter Hannah, who was 13 at the time. According to ABC, the video showed “Johnson and his daughter at the ball with numerous other father-daughter pairs and shows Johnson’s daughter vowing to him to live a life of purity, as well as her signing a pledge.” As part of the pledge, Hannah made her “commitment to God, myself, my family, my friends, my future husband, and my future children … to a lifetime of purity, including sexual purity.” That is a beautiful commitment, though one might wonder why ABC finds it newsworthy. As they come of age, young girls should be thinking about the future effects of their decisions for themselves and others.
