Came across this little poem whilst sorting out some papers, written many years ago, but more relevant in today’s world!
SONG OF REVELATION.
I can hear the song you’re singing John, I can recognise the tune.
The melody stays, the beat goes on, Armageddon must be soon.
Your voice a vibrant tremor, as you sing of things to be.
New earth, new skies, new heavens, the Lamb, the crowd and me.
Each verse a revelation, prophetically of course, and in new intrepidation, salvation rides a horse.
I can see you through the darkness John, though my heart be filled with dread.
The lyrics he will act upon, when the sea gives up her dead.
The vision I see clearly, though blind of none illume, the beast, the bear, the lion move on,
And the bride meets with the groom.
Each verse a princely kingdom, a Jerusalem above, an end to false religion,
And Babylon sends her love.
I can hear the song you’re singing John, but I never liked the tune,
So I swore I’d never sing along, and to hell with spiritual ruin.
Though I never held the song sheet, and I never spoke his name.
Your song has made a sound so sweet, that I may just sing again.
The Angels now in chorus, the world as one will sing.
The son of man before us, the throne, the lamb, the king.
