  1. Is worshipping the Virgin Mary, loving the Lord? Is putting your faith in the Church instead of Christ, loving the Lord? Is putting your faith in a cloth, instead of Christ, loving the Lord? A mockery is made of Christ's death on the cross, when it is substituted with Scapulars and Beads and Popes and Penance and Indulgences, Baptism, and the Eucharist! Where is the Love for the Lord in this?? You claim you love the Lord, yet you deny the very SOURCE, by which men are to be saved! Only those who truly love the Lord, put their WHOLE trust in ONLY HIM!! ONLY CHRIST SAVES!!
  2. SUPREMI APOSTOLATUS OFFICIO ENCYCLICAL OF POPE LEO XIII ON DEVOTION OF THE ROSARY To all the Patriarchs, Primates, Archbishops and Bishops of the Catholic World in the Grace and Communion of the Apostolic See. Venerable Brethren, Health and the Apostolic Benediction. The supreme Apostolic office which we discharge and the exceedingly difficult condition of these times, daily warn and almost compel Us to watch carefully over the integrity of the Church, the more that the calamities from which she suffers are greater. While, therefore, we endeavour in every way to preserve the rights of the Church and to obviate or repel present or contingent dangers, We constantly seek for help from Heaven - the sole means of effecting anything-that our labours and our care may obtain their wished for object. We deem that there could be no surer and more efficacious means to this end than by religion and piety to obtain the favour of the great Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, the guardian of our peace and the minister to us of heavenly grace, who is placed on the highest summit of power and glory in Heaven, in order that she may bestow the help of her patronage on men who through so many labours and dangers are striving to reach that eternal city. Now that the anniversary, therefore, of manifold and exceedingly great favours obtained by a Christian people through the devotion of the Rosary is at hand , We desire that that same devotion should be offered by the whole Catholic world with the greatest earnestness to the Blessed Virgin, that by her intercession her Divine Son may be appeased and softened in the evils which afflict us. And therefore We determined, Venerable Brethren, to despatch to you these letters in order that, informed of Our designs, your authority and zeal might excite the piety of your people to conform themselves to them . 2. It has always been the habit of Catholics in danger and in troublous times to fly for refuge to Mary, and to seek for peace in her maternal goodness; showing that the Catholic Church has always, and with justice, put all her hope and trust in the Mother of God . And truly the Immaculate Virgin, chosen to be the Mother of God and thereby associated with Him in the work of man's salvation, has a favour and power with her Son greater than any human or angelic creature has ever obtained, or ever can gain. And, as it is her greatest pleasure to grant her help and comfort to those who seek her, it cannot be doubted that she would deign, and even be anxious, to receive the aspirations of the universal Church. 3. This devotion, so great and so confident, to the august Queen of Heaven , has never shone forth with such brilliancy as when the militant Church of God has seemed to be endangered by the violence of heresy spread abroad, or by an intolerable moral corruption, or by the attacks of powerful enemies. Ancient and modern history and the more sacred annals of the Church bear witness to public and private supplications addressed to the Mother of God, to the help she has granted in return, and to the peace and tranquility which she had obtained from God. Hence her illustrious titles of helper, consoler, mighty in war, victorious, and peace-giver. And amongst these is specially to be commemorated that familiar title derived from the Rosary by which the signal benefits she has gained for the whole of Christendom have been solemnly perpetuated. There is none among you, venerable brethren, who will not remember how great trouble and grief God's Holy Church suffered from the Albigensian heretics, who sprung from the sect of the later Manicheans, and who filled the South of France and other portions of the Latin world with their pernicious errors, and carrying everywhere the terror of their arms, strove far and wide to rule by massacre and ruin. Our merciful God, as you know, raised up against these most direful enemies a most holy man, the illustrious parent and founder of the Dominican Order. Great in the integrity of his doctrine, in his example of virtue, and by his apostolic labours, he proceeded undauntedly to attack the enemies of the Catholic Church, not by force of arms; but trusting wholly to that devotion which he was the first to institute under the name of the Holy Rosary, which was disseminated through the length and breadth of the earth by him and his pupils. Guided, in fact, by divine inspiration and grace, he foresaw that this devotion, like a most powerful warlike weapon, would be the means of putting the enemy to flight, and of confounding their audacity and mad impiety. Such was indeed its result. Thanks to this new method of prayer- when adopted and properly carried out as instituted by the Holy Father St. Dominic- piety, faith, and union began to return, and the projects and devices of the heretics to fall to pieces. Many wanderers also returned to the way of salvation, and the wrath of the impious was restrained by the arms of those Catholics who had determined to repel their violence ONLY CHRIST SAVES!
  3. Seventh Rose Crown of Roses Ever since Blessed Alande la Roche reeastablished this devotion the voice of the people, which is the voice of God, called it the Rosary . The word rosary means "Crown of Roses ", that is to say that every time people say the Rosary devoutly they place a crown of one hundred and fifty-three red roses and sixteen white roses upon the heads of Jesus and Mary . Being heavenly flowers these roses will never fade or lose their exquisite beauty. Our Lady has shown her thorough approval of the name Rosary; she had revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary they are giving her a beautiful rose and that each complete Rosary makes her a crown of roses The well known Jesuit, Brother Alphonsus Rodriguez, used to say his rosary with such fervour that he often saw a red rose come out of his mouth at each Our Father and a white rose at each Hail Mary. The red and white roses were equal in beauty and fragrance, the only difference being in their color. The chronicles of Saint Francis tell of a young friar who had the praisworthy habit of saying the Crown of Our Lady(The Rosary ) every day before dinner. One day for some reason or other he did not manage to say it. the refectory bell had already been rung when he asked the Superior to allow him to say it before coming to the table, and having obtained permission he withdrew to his cell to pray . After he had been gone a long time the Superior sent another friar to fetch him, and found him in his room bathed in a heavenly light facing Our Lady who had two Angels with her. Beautiful roses kept issuing from his mouth at each Hail Mary ; the Angels took them one by one, placing them on Our Lady's head , and she smilingly accepted them. Finally the two other friars who had been sent to find out what happened to the first two saw the same lovely scene, and Our Lady did not go away until the Rosary had been said So the complete Rosary is a large Crown of roses and w the Rosary of five decades is a little wreath of flowers or a small crown of heavenly roses Which we place on the heads of Jesus and Mary. The rose is the queen of flowers, and so the Rosary is the rose of all devotions and it is therefore the most important one. ONLY CHRIST SAVES
  4. Got a few concerns here... 1- This was over a thousand years after the lifetime of Jesus...right? So the people who lived before Dominic weren't true Christians, if they didn't have this? 2- Why can't they? 3- How does the Trinity do something directly like this? Very Good Questions Joshua! I think you answered your own questions? Only Christ Saves
  5. The Rosary Light & Life - Vol 49, No 5, Sep-Oct 1996 IN DEFENSE OF A TRADITION By Father Paul A. Duffner, O.P. THE MARIAN PSALTER The custom of counting repeated prayers by the use of a string of beads or knots, or pebbles in a bowl was prevalent long before the time of St. Dominic. This was common among the Moslems, the Buddhists, and other non-Christian religions as well as among Christians. From time immemorial the 150 psalms of the bible comprised the most important part of the official liturgical prayers prayed by the clergy and the monks in monasteries. Since, however, many of the common folk were illiterate, there was an attempt to offer those who could not read (especially the Latin) a substitute for the 150 psalms. The practice arose of substituting 150 OUR FATHERS in place of the Latin psalms, using a string of beads to count them, dividing them into "fifties". This chaplet, or string of beads, came to be known as "Paternoster" beads . Little by little, the HAIL MARY took its place along side the CREED and the OUR FATHER as a standard prayer. But still, it was only the first half that was used. In the course of time there came to be a parallel Psalter, i.e., one of 150 HAIL MARYS known as the MARIAN PSALTER. ONLY CHRIST SAVES
  6. Mary's Psalter Ever since Saint Dominic established the devotion to the Holy Rosary up until the time when Blessed Alan de la Roche reestablished it in 1460 it has always been called the Psalter of Jesus and Mary. This is because it has the same number of Angelic Salutations as there are psalms in the Book of the Psalms of David. Since simple and uneducated people are not able to say the Psalms of David the Rosary is held to be just as fruitful for them as David's Psalter is for others. But the Rosary can be considered to be even more valuable than the latter for three reasons: 1) Firstly, because the Angelic Psalter bears a nobler fruit, that of the Word Incarnate , whereas David's Psalter only prophesies his coming; 2)Secondly, just as the real thing is more important than it's prefiguration and the body is more than its shadow, in the same way the Psalter of Our Lady is greater than David's Psalter which did no more than prefigure it. 3)And thirdly, because Our Lady's Psalter(or the Rosary made up of the Our Father and Hail Mary) is the direct work of the most Blessed Trinity and was not made through a human instrument. Our Lady's Psalter or Rosary is divided up into three parts of five decades each, for the following special reasons: 1) To honour the three Persons of the most Blessed Trinity 2)To honour the life, death and Glory of Jesus Christ 3) To imitate the Church Triumphant, to help the members of the Church Militant and the lessen the pains of the Church Suffering; 4) To imitate the three groups into which the Psalms are divided:a) The first for the Purgative life b) the second for the illuminative life, c)and the third for the unitive life; 5) And, finally, to give us graces in abundance during our lifetime, peace at death, and glory in eternity. 7. Yes I dislike the Idea that we are saved by submitting to the pope, or by Mary, or by a Scapular...The Bible Plainly teaches ONLY CHRIST SAVES!! I am damned to hell for making such a statement by the RCC, but what the heck! I'd rather put my faith in Christ then in mere men!! The simple truth is... ONLY CHRIST SAVES!
  8. I have to disagree with you Cerran. If you believe "ONLY CHRIST SAVES", you are anathema by the RCC! You are Accursed and Damned to Hell for believing such a thing according to OFFICIAL RCC church policy! While they believe Jesus saves...with...submitance to the authority of the pope, and Indulgences and Penance, and Scapulars and Mary, and Medals, plus all the Sacraments of the Church, and good works, is needed to be saved...? Sound Biblical to you? ONLY CHRIST SAVES!!

Sorry, but really it's wasn't in the spirit of love. We must remember that superstition is living in bondage. We should pray for our bretherin who are caught in this kind of bondage. Much Grace, ~G
  10. You are done. The truth about the Catholic Church is canon 847, canon 1260 and canon 1271. Why do you LIE Tyler??? There's a commandment about not lying you know????. You don't even Know what your own Church teaches! :oww: Explains many things! ONLY CHRIST SAVES!!
  11. There has only been ONE TRUE "Religion"(If you want to call it that), It is called Christianity, where Believers only follow Christ and no other!!! Christianity is where Repentance and the belief of a Reseurrected Christ Saves ONLY! Where we acknowledge that ONLY the BLOOD OF CHRIST cleanses us from sin! Where we acknowledge that ONLY the Bible is the Infallible word of God! Where we acknowledge that by Faith ONLY we are saved! Where we believe that "Born Again" believers have been indwelt with the Holy Spirit ONLY! We Christians are apart as night to day of any other "Religion" on earth! ONLY CHRIST SAVES!
  12. One must realize when certain Persons here cannot refute the Truth being Posted, the only alternative left to them is Personal attacks! Only Christ Saves!!
  13. Read the first post of the Fifteen promises... (promises)I DON"T THINK SO!! Do you believe that GymRose? I know you don't, but I betcha' you didn't know the RCC takes this as factual?? Remember ONLY CHRIST SAVES
  14. God. Could someone else please elaberate on this as none of that made sence to me. I understand that Marymay have appeared as a vivsion but where in the Bible does it say that by practicing rituals such as the Rosery we will be granted extra promises and where does it say we go to purgitory. These are the questions I'm trying to ask. At the end of the Bible it says about not adding to so therefore there should be something written in the Bible that encourages the Rosery. You are correct, there is NOTHING in the bible to "authenticate" the rosary. This is what the RCC calls tradition...it's not in the Bible but it is aproved by the "church"! Only Christ Saves
  15. The Rosary Light & Life - Vol 49, No 5, Sep-Oct 1996 IN DEFENSE OF A TRADITION By Father Paul A. Duffner, O.P. Most of us are familiar with the tradition that goes back many centuries, and which has been accepted in the writings of many popes, as to the connection of St. Dominic with the beginnings of the Rosary devotion. According to tradition, the occasion was the Albigensian heresy which ravaged Christendom, particularly in southern France during the latter part of the 12th and the beginning of the 13th centuries. St. Dominic was distressed at his lack of success in his preaching in countering this heresy, and in his desperation turned to the Mother of God for help. She appeared to him (according to the tradition) and told him to use her Psalter in conjunction with his preaching of the mysteries of our salvation, as an instrument in combatting the great heresy of his day. We do not have any historical documents dating from that period expressly referring to St. Dominic and the Rosary. We will endeavor to show, however, that there are a number of things that could be responsible for that silence. THE EVOLUTION OF THE ROSARY We have to keep in mind that over the centuries there has been a considerable evolution in the form that this devotion called the Rosary has taken. We have to remember that in the time of St. Dominic: The HAIL MARY did not exist as we pray it today. Only the first half of it was then used. The word JESUS was not added until the 14th century, and the second half of the prayer came later still. The OUR FATHER and the GLORY BE TO THE FATHER were not then part of the Rosary. The Mysteries of the Rosary were not fixed as they are now. Even in the 15th century in the time of ALAN DE RUPE, O.P., who was responsible for the revival of the Rosary devotion 250 years after the time of St. Dominic, the Rosary he preached was the Marian Psalter of 150 Hail Marys and 150 mysteries. These were divided into three groups of fifties dedicated to the Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious mysteries. The fifteen mysteries in use today were officially established by Pope Pius V in 1569. There was no pendent (the cross and five extra beads) as we have now. The very word "Rosary" taken from the Latin word "rosarium" meaning rose garden, or bouquet of roses, was not used in the time of Dominic as applied to this devotion. So obviously there would be no reference to that term in documents of his time. But still, it was only the first half that was used. In the course of time there came to be a parallel Psalter, i.e., one of 150 HAIL MARYS known as the MARIAN PSALTER. TESTIMONY OF THE POPES Pope Benedict XIV (1740-58) was a renowned scholar and a promoter of historical studies and research. When he was an official of the Sacred Congregation of Rites, he was asked about the tradition of St. Dominic and the Rosary. The following is his response, a century after the work of the Bollandists:
  16. FIFTEEN PROMISES OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN TO CHRISTIANS WHO FAITHFULLY PRAY THE ROSARY 1)To all those who shall pray my Rosary devoutly, I promise my special protection and great graces. 2)Those who shall persevere in the recitation of my Rosary will receive some special grace. 3)The Rosary will be a very powerful armor against hell; it will destroy vice, deliver from sin and dispel heresy. 4)The rosary will make virtue and good works flourish, and will obtain for souls the most abundant divine mercies. It will draw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means. 5)Those who trust themselves to me through the Rosary will not perish. 6)Whoever recites my Rosary devoutly reflecting on the mysteries, shall never be overwhelmed by misfortune. He will not experience the anger of God nor will he perish by an unprovided death. The sinner will be converted; the just will persevere in grace and merit eternal life. 7)Those truly devoted to my Rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church. 8)Those who are faithful to recite my Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces and will share in the merits of the blessed. 9)I will deliver promptly from purgatory souls devoted to my Rosary. 10)True children of my Rosary will enjoy great glory in heaven. 11)What you shall ask through my Rosary you shall obtain. 12)To those who propagate my Rosary I promise aid in all their necessities. 13)I have obtained from my Son that all the members of the Rosary Confraternity shall have as their intercessors, in life and in death, the entire celestial court. 14)Those who recite my Rosary faithfully are my beloved children, the brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ. 15)Devotion to my Rosary is a special sign of predestination. Fifteen Promises Only Christ Saves
  17. For you Leonard some"canons"! After this Catholic doctrine on justification, which whosoever does not faithfully and firmly accept cannot be justified, it seemed good to the holy council to add these canons, that all may know not only what they must hold and follow, but what to avoid and shun: Canon I: If any one saith, that man may be justified before God by his own works, whether done through the teaching of human nature, or that of the law, without the grace of God through Jesus Christ: let him be anathema. Canon III: If any one saith, that without the prevenient inspirtaion of the Holy Ghost, and without his help, man can believe, hope, love, or be penitent as he ought, so that the grace of Justification may be bestowed upon him: let him be anathema. Canon VII. If any one saith, that all works done before Justification, in whatsoever way they be done, are truly sins, or merit the hatred of God; that the more earnestly one strives to dispose himself for grace, the more greviously he sins, let him be anathema. Canon IX. If any one saith that by faith alone the impious is justified, in such wise as to mean, that nothing else is required to cooperate in order to obtaining the grace of Justification, and that it is not in any way necessary that he be prepared and disposed by the movement of his own will, let him be anathema. Canon X. If any one saith, that men are just without the justice of Christ, whereby he merited for us to be justified; or that it is by that justice itself that they are formally just: let him be anathema. Canon XI. If any one saith, that men are justified, either by the sole imputation of the justice of Christ, or by the sole remission of sins, to the exclusion of the grace and the charity which is poured forth in their hearts by the Holy Ghost, and is inherent in them; or even that the grace, whereby we are justified is only the favor of God: let him be anathema. Canon XXIV. If any one saith, that the justice received is not preserved and also increased before God through good works; but that the said works are merely the fruits and signs of Justification obtained, but not a cause of the increase thereof: let him be anathema. Canon XXVI. If anyone saith that the just ought not for the good works done in God, to expect and hope for an eternal reward from God through His mercy and the merit of Jesus Christ, if by doing well and keeping the commandments they persevere to the end, let him be anathema. Canon XXIX. If any one saith, that he who has fallen after baptism is not able by the grace of God to rise again; or, that he is able indeed to recover the justice which he has lost, but by faith alone without the sacrament of Penance, contrary to what the holy Roman and universal Church

  19. Quote:Posted by Marc My friend do you really care? Do you know how many cults there is that teach something similar, people are condemned unless they do what xyz organisations says? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Marc, how many "cults" do you know that have 1Billion members? Only Christ Saves
  20. Doesn't that leave us with a Paradox?? If we believe we are saved by faith alone, then we are "accursed"(anathema), by the RCC? If we believe that we are saved thru works, that we must adhere to ALL of the RCC's proclamations, then aren't we denying the power of the saving grace of Christ's redemption at cavalry? It all boils down to being saved by the blood of Christ, or trying to earn your way to heaven, therefore bypassing the Cross?? At least that's the way it looks to me! Only Christ Saves
  21. Are you mistaken Maybe Leonard? From the Catholic Bible(Mine)NAB Bull, Papal The MOST Formal OFFICIAL DOCUMENT issued by the Pope. It is written on strong parchment and bears the signatures of the Pope and certain members of the Papal chancery. It receives it's name from the lead or Gold seal, called the bulla, which bears a representative of SS. Peter and Paul on one side and the reigning Pope on the other. This seal is attached to the document by a silken cord if the bull is one of grace, and by a hempen cord if it is a bull of justice. This is about as Official as it gets!? Canon IV. If any one saith, that the sacraments of the New Law are not necessary unto salvation, but superfluous; and that, without them, or without the desire thereof, men obtain from God, through faith alone, the grace of justification, though all [the sacraments] are not indeed necessary for each individual, let him be anathema. This means all People who believe we are saved by Faith in Jesus Christ, without works, are damned to hell by the RCC! Leonard, the Pope is "NOT Infallible" regarding Church doctrine?? I think the RCC teaches otherwise?? Only Christ Saves
  22. Pope Boniface VIII (1302 A.D.) So, when the Greeks and others say that they were not committed to the care of Peter and his successors, they must confess that they are not of Christ
  23. While I do not claim to know for sure, who or what the "Image" is, this is definitely an "end time deception"! I posted this for people to be aware, to the fact, that this "could" match up to the "Image" of Revelation! While no one is sure of the Image of Revelation, this "Image" is about as Anti- Christian as you can get! Only The Real Christ Saves!!

    Divine Mercy?

Hi there! These thread has been open because "of my fault" and it's only logical for me to debate this issue but I won't, you know why? Because of Matt 12:31-32 : "For this reason I say unto you, every sin and injurious speaking shall be forgiven to men, but speaking injuriously of the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men. And whosoever shall have spoken a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age nor in the coming one". The sins committed against the Holy Spirit won't be forgiven probably because there is not enough penance for the person responsible for such sin. The sins against the Holy Spirit are those who slander His manifestations to us, in this chapter Jesus casts out demons and the pharisees accuse Him of working with the Devil's power so He teaches us that the sins against Him may be forgiven (that's why jews, muslims, mormons, etc.... can be saved) but the sins against the Holy Spirit won't be forgiven. If I debate this with you, because you have an anti-catholic stance you will probably commit a sin against the Holy Spirit and so I don't want to be responsible for such a thing because then both of our souls would be lost forever so I won't debate it. JEZU UFAM TOBIE The ONLY reason why you do not want to debate this is because this has so many HOLES in it, it is akin to having a screen door on a submarine!! I am not "anti" catholic", on a person to person basis, but have no pretentions of following "rome" and the "papacy"! This divine mercy is so ungodly and so UNBiblical that it makes ones hair stand on end! BTW, thanks Mobile for the tip! Only Christ Saves
