A Lesson from the Book of Joshua In the Book of Joshua the reader follows the Hebrews from the wilderness wonderings into the Promised Land. Before entering the land God requires an incredible act of faith that is overlooked by many a Bible commentator. Israel crossed the Jordan on the 10th day of Nissan, a day that looked back to the setting aside of the passover lamb in the book of Exodus, while also looking forward to Palm Sunday, when Jesus was finally rejected by Rabbinical Judaism. This was the time of the spring thaw on Mt. Hermon (height 9232), and thus the Jordan River would have been riding high and fast on its banks. It was into this torrent that God asked Israel to carry its most precious possession, the Ark of the Covenant. The priests would surely been nervous about slipping on these river banks and loosing the Ark, which would swiftly be washed away and smashed to pieces...

May 29, 2004 An earthquake struck the flooded area along the Dominican/Haitian border, an area where hundreds of people were killed in floods this week. The 4.4 quake lasted for 4 seconds. The epicenter was reporteed to be 20 miles underground. A quake like this, following a torrential floods and mudslides this week can be far more serious than otherwise. http://millenniafever.org/other/quakesheet.html

On The Importance of "isms" Jesus wanted us to be his friends, unlike the religion of the scribes and pharisees. Jesus labeled them a den of vipers. Pharisee-ism was condemned by our Lord. Jesus drew a proverbial line in the sand and said, this side sheep- that side goats. The Reformation drew a line that separates Catholicism from Protestantism. Protestants stand against the doctrines of indulgences, purgatory, transubstantiation, and papal bulls, while they stand for the right of the individual to read and possess the scriptures in his or her own language, and to worship according to the dictates of one's own conscience. Because I believe the scriptures teach that sin will wax worse and worse, and the the Gospel will be preached in all nations, and then Jesus will literally and physically return to earth to judge, and reign and rule, I am a premillennial dispensationalist. Based on my study and prayer life, I think this is the best and most literal reading of scripture. Because I believe the scripture is God's word, I had to struggle with the evolutionary teachings I had been indoctrinated with in the public schools. Thanks to the work of men like Henry Morris and Ken Ham I can now see the the evidence for evolution is smoke and mirrors, and the interpretation of the geologic column by secular scientists is biased by their prejudice. I am a young earth creationist. Some people don't like the labels of the 'isms' and 'ists' , but they are a part of our english language that help us to separate the sheep from the goats. A surge in Islamic construction is sweeping Germany. The number of traditional mosques with their distinctive minarets nearly doubled in Germany from 77 to 141 in 2003. In Europe mosques are symbols of change that can instigate fear, especially as congregations at Christian churches steadily decline on a continent with the fastest-aging population in the world. For many Europeans mosques are perceived as caldrons of radicalism instead of places of worship, and with good reason because the Al Quds mosque in Hamburg is where Mohamed Atta and other Sept. 11 hijackers prayed before moving to the United States. The rise of Islam is the counterpoint to the decline of Christianity in western culture. The mainline denominations no longer believe what they preach (the Bible) and therefore the pews are emptying. In this changing tide we find cults doing especially well. The Mormons and the Jehovah

2 Christian Forums have some pretty wild avatars This is my first post here so- I'll be right up front- I looked around and the avatar usage is nice and modest Now Let me post what I posted "there" and get some feedback from ya'll... The Use of Avatars A picture speaks a thousand words. A glossy gal image... a shear clad angelic babe... a computer rendered, 3d, thin, young, radiant, female... idyllic, perfect... no wrinkle, no spot... An Avatar... a cowboy, a flag, atomic bomb... ok... how about a glossy gal, a prom queen waiting for her date, a shear clad angelic babe, a supergirl in shinny skin tight spandex... Just an image... an icon... a little glossy perfection... Does this represent me? My Avatar? As a Christian my avatar is the mushroom cloud of an atomic bomb, because I feel that atomic weapons are a sign of the last days. I share some stories now... A local cable guy was the head of the anime club... you know those cute little japanese animations... youthful, yet strong, and sexy... seemed so innocent... until one day, someone stepped in his office, and saw child porn on the office computer screen. When the police checked... the machine was chock full of child porn. The man lost his job and was prosecuted. True story. Is there a connection between the child porn and the anime? You be the judge. Now a story to make you think... I met jiggy at a Christian forum. His avatars were very glossy animated 3d realistic but real glossy gals (sometimes with low cut tops and wild costumes). I wrote him a note... Dear Jiggy... Those avatars could be a stumbling block for a brother... he said... don
