I've never heard the term "Calvinism" but suppose, now that you mention it, that the person in question most certainly wouldn't be the only one. I would so appreciate opinions concerning this, but am starting to feel like this is a subject nobody wants to touch. Anyone?
  2. If I understand your question correctly, I believe it is absolute. I don't think one can; kind of lie, kind of steal, kind of kill, kind of sin..... I believe the "evolving" or grey area are just subtile ways of desensitizing the truth. After all, it's much easier to engage in sin if everyone around you is doing the same. There's a validation (albeit wrong) that it okay or "truth", but that doesn't make it so. When King Solomon writes that there is nothing new under the son, I can't see how something can "evolve" or be subjective. As for God, his way is perfect, the word of the Lord is tried (or flawless) 2 Sam 22:31
  3. I read the NIV study Bible & many times reference with KJV. "Ask and it will be given unto you, seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

My reply vanished when i clicked, "add reply" Trying again. It could be anything from lying, selfish gain, manipulation, jealousy, gossip, etc., etc. They say things like "I'm only human", "God's in control" "I must have blinders on" There's no remorse or responsibility for what they've done, only anger & resentment for being "caught".

I believe God chose me, & in doing so gave me the HS to make the right choices for me, but left it up to me whether I accept or reject that. So even though I believe God knows ahead of time, & is in control, I feel a responsibility to make right choices. So my question is this; How do I deal with or explain this to another believer who insists they have no choice in what they do? I say it's both, God's choice & ours. What do you believe?
