  1. Has anyone read Dr. DeYoung's newest book, "Thousands, Not Billions?"
  2. By the way there is much evidence that the earth was created in six days as God says above. Take a look at an airial view of the grand canyon. It wasn't carved by a river! The dust on the moon is no more than just a thin layer. How come there isn't 2-3 feet like they thought when Armstrong set his feet on the moon. How do you account for fossil pollen in pre-cambrian rock. That's rock that was before any life supposedly. How do you account for petrified trees spanning "200 million years of sedimentary rock" upside down no less. I could go on and on. LT Thanks for sharing Larry. I was just reading about the pollen in pre-Cambrian rock as good evidence for a young Earth. I'm not sure if this is good or not, but what about the layers of the supposed Geologic Column? I've read that there are no places on the Earth with a complete Geologic Column, and something about the layers not matching up ... Can't quite remembers how that argument goes?
  3. I have always wondered about statements like this. Here's my problem with that: For this to be true, then other such rivers would have the same effect all over the world. Unless, of course, the Colorado River is the only one that is millions of years old, that is. So why do we not have the same effect from other rivers across the globe? I mean, especially in areas where the ground is softer. Do all huge canyons have rivers which are millions of years old, or just this one? t. That is a very good question Ted. I believe in catastrophism, and that just as the Bible says, the fountains of the deep were opened up. I've been reading about that very topic, and according to evolutionists, the continents would have been reduced to sea level in only 14 million years! Obviously something is wrong with evolution. For those who are wondering what is he talking about. Evolution needs hundreds of millions and even billions of years. We can measure the amount of erosion of sediments. The yearly amount of sediments that is carried into the sea amounts to around 27.5 billion tons per year. The volume of the continents above sea level has been measured at 383 million billion tons. From there you need to figure simple math, and you can see that in a very short amount of time (short by evolution standards) that all the continents would be reduced to sea level in only 14 million years!! Getting back to the Grand Canyon, Ted, much of the Colorado River drainage is virtually untouched! Flat, featureless, uplifted plateau, bearing no evidence of 70 millions years of erosion. This is a serious problem for evolutionists to explain, according to uniformitarianism. Another serious problem for the evolutionists is that the mountains contain rock that evolutionists date at hundreds of millions and even billions of years old. This is plenty of time to completely erode the continents many time over, hmm....... but the continents nearly everywhere are covered with sediments. The uniformitarian theory doesn't add up!!
  4. Doesn't the Bible say to not judge anyone concerning days of worship? Don't we worship on Sunday because of the resurrection?
  5. The 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens is good evidence of catastrophic events that some scientists claim must take millions of years to happen, but only took days/months to form. interesting that some science thought the Grand Canyon in Arizona took millions of years to form and then there was found a tall tree laying vertical through that sediment they had previously determined to be layers of millions of years of sediment forming, this tall tree was there tossed by the flood through all the layers. interesting to me. I don't know how old the earth is. I do know the Bible is Gods True Word and our world was created by HIM. skyelights: When trees go through several different layers, they are called polystrata.
  6. Aber...Nein. Du bist wong. Some things take a lot of time, while others take not as much. And scientists are wrong too. But no scientist claims an eruption takes millions of years. I will rephrase the point that I am trying to make. Evolutionists claim that mountains and valleys take millions of years to form. But in a very short time, within our lifetimes (!!), we have witnessed the formation of a large canyon. In just five months, Step Canyon was formed by mud and pyroclastic flows, creating a canyon up 700 feet deep in places. Loowit Canyon (to the east of Step Canyon) and Step Canyon cut through 100 feet of solid rock (!!!). In 1980, the landscape of Mount Saint Helens was violently, and quickly, changed. In a period of only three hours, the powerful explosive eruption produced 25 feet of layered strata. Evolutionists claim that millions of years are required to produce stratification. In only three hours 100 layers of strata were created! Each layer took only a few seconds to a few minutes to form!! Amazing! As the pyroclastic flows, consisting of fine volcanic debris, moved down the mountainside at hurricane speeds, leaving hot deposits (up to 1000
  7. Yes, our paths differ, but Jesus is still the only way to heaven. Jesus must be at the center of our worship, and the one we are trusting for our eternal destiny.
  8. I find it quite difficult to attend Church as a Catholic now that I have turned to God, due in fact that I have actually sought after scripture as my guidance and not followed the sheep (pardon the expression, and I do apologize if you find the remark offensive) to the Church. I could pretty much assume that most of the people who actually attend the Catholic Church in my neighborhood probably never pick up there Bibles to seek the truth for themselves. Mathew 7:8 If one kneels before a statue of Mary, which Catholics do, mostly the Nuns as well as kneeling before a statue of Christ doesn't kneeling before a statue of Mary brake the commandment of verse 5 "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them"? Does verse 4 clearly say not to make "any graven image, or likeness of anything that is in heaven above"? would Mary not be in heaven? the statue of mary would not be a graven image carved out of stone, kneeling before it (the statue) would that not be considered as "Bowing Down" to it? Is a statue depicting Christ on the cross also an image of anything in Heaven or above? Saying the Hail Mary, is that not a prayer to Mary and placing her before God, which breaks the first commandment of "Thou shalt have no other Gods before me"? So as you can see I am quite confused about my own so called "denomination" and place my trust completely in the Bible (KJV) there is no doubt that I may be wrong because I haven't grown up as a "practicing" Catholic so maybe there is something I missed here but all the same the Bible clearly states: Romans 10:13
  9. The 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens is good evidence of catastrophic events that some scientists claim must take millions of years to happen, but only took days/months to form.
  10. What is the strongest evidence for a young earth?
  11. It's sad to see that people are being deceived, even concerning something that is so well known as the Holocaust during World War II. Try and explain to the many thousands of survivors of the Holocaust that what they had to endure was actually not real!! Imagine that for a moment!
  12. I agree! The key element in church, and our lives, should be Jesus only as saviour. There is no other name under heaven by which must be saved (Can't remember where that scripture is?). It is human nature, all cultures, to think that our own belief, way, methods, church, denomination, etc., is the best, or the only right way. Didn't the disciples in the Bible also argue about who was correct? And one of the disciples rebuked them for bickering among themselves concerning secondary issues. The primary essentials -- salvation, nature of God -- are, well, the "Essentials," that separate true Christians from the cults, as was mentioned in another post (see below).
  13. Hello WhySoBlind -- I just have to respond to your comment, "You cannot veiw certain pages at all while offline, or if you do get to view those pages, such as this forum, it will be extremely outdated content at best." That is not true!! One thing that is sooo cool about Webstractor is that it has something called, "Radar," a new feature just added recently, which automatically updates any webpages that you have checked in the box. This is great, because I don't need to have ALL of the thousands of webpages that I've archived updated. Also, I can simply choose "Refresh," and update the forum webpages immediately! I can walk away from my laptop, and leave it running all day long, and have only the webpages that I choose set for Radar. While I'm gone, any changes to those webpages will automatically be updated!! That is a very practical feature that Webstractor offers. Concerning viewing webpages, I have come across very, very few webpages that I cannot archive in Webstractor, and view offline!!! Yes, there are a few webpages that Webstractor will not open, mostly pages with movie clips, but when I check those same webpages in Firefox, quite often those pages that I cannot view with Webstractor, I also cannot view with Firefox, and sometimes not with other browsers as well. So most of the webpages that cannot be viewed (and archived) with Webstractor are probably webpages that no longer exist, or must have some kind of problem, which I don't understand at this point. I hope that there is some kind of solution to fix the problem with Webstractor and Safari not being compatible with the WorthyBoards. This seems very strange indeed!! I frequent hundreds (I do mean "hundreds") of message boards and forums, and I have never (NEVER) seen this problem happen, except with WorthyBoards!! So this must be a problem that is specific with WorthyBoards. I have archived thousands of pages from other forums, mostly Ancestry, GenForum, HTML and numerous computer forums, using Webstractor, and Webstractor has NEVER suddenly quit with any of those forums!! Interesting that I can browse the Webstractor files (offline) that I've saved with hundreds of forums pages from WorthyBoards, including hundreds of the links from the forum messages, while I'm offline, and Webstractor NEVER suddenly quits, not even once!! I've actually tried seriously to get Webstractor to suddenly quit while offline, browsing WorthyBoards pages that I've archived. I have purposely tried to find the Webstractor limit, concerning how many webpages that I can save in the same file. I have several Webstractor files with over 500 webpages archived, and I still cannot get Webstractor to quit while browsing WorthyBoards webpages while offline. On the other hand, ever very small Webstractor files, with only five webpages, still suddenly quit, while browsing online. Sometimes, I can't even save one link that I've clicked on, and Webstractor suddenly quits! So, it seems very obvious that this is an online issue, invloving some kind of conflict between WorthyBoards and Webstractor/Safari. Any ideas what is really going on, and any possible solutions to this issue? -- vja4Him
  14. Pipit: How/Who can we contact concerning this issue of WorthyBoards and Browser conflict? I believe that Safari and Webstractor are similar to Mozilla. I wonder if Mozilla will suddenly quit while loading WorthyBoards pages? What other applications suddenly quit on your iBook? Some of the applications that suddenly quit on my iBook: DropDrawers (super-cool application!!!), DefaultFolder X, Safari, Webstractor. There are a couple other menu apps that were suddenly quitting, but I trashed them. Oh yes, Nvu (HTML editor) suddenly quits, but not very often. -- vja4Him
  15. I can't find out how to contact someone concerning this matter, so I'm just posting the message here for now. I am using Webstractor 1.5.3 (offline browser), for viewing webpages while offline. For some strange reason, when I am archiving webpages from WorthyBoards, my browser (Webstractor) keeps suddenly quitting, usually after only loading two or three webpages. This is becoming very annoying. I can search many other topics, using Webstractor, with no problems. I did a search on the topic of "Problems with Evolution," and have saved nearly 600 webpages (yes, that's six hundred different webpages!!), on just one Webstractor file, and that file never suddenly quit, not even once, while online!! That Webstractor file is around 100MB so far!! I've searched hundreds of other topics, and saved over 100 webpages per file, and Webstractor never suddenly quit. The main problem seems to be with WorthyBoards. There is something about WorthyBoards that is conflicting with Webstractor. I've already sent hundreds of error messages to Apple (I'm using a G4 iBook), and also have sent numerous messages to Softchaos (developer of Webstractor, a Mac-specific application), but have received no answer at all yet, after about three weeks now. When I use Firefox to browse the WorthyBoards, Firefox NEVER suddenly quits, which is what I would expect. When I browse (offline) the hundreds of Webstractor files that I've saved for the past 16 months, none of the Webstractor files ever quit (that's offline). Has anyone ever seen or heard of a similar problem? This is very frustrating. There is nothing wrong with my iBook. Everything else works just fine. Just installed an Airport Extreme card, and now I'm wireless!! Working great, with no problems. Running OS X 10.3.9, 768MB RAM. Even when I close all other applications, Webstractor still suddenly quits when I access the WorthyBoards. I've tried creating new Webstractor files several times, but doesn't make any difference. I've tried running permission (repair), but no problems are ever found, and the repair permission is always successful, with no errors. I've tried restarting, shutting down, and rebooting, and all that stuff, but nothing seems to resolve this conflict with WorthyBoards and Webstractor. Webstractor is the ONLY offline browser that functions the same as Webstractor, which only saves the webpages that you actually load, so you don't have to load entires websites, 10 levels deep, or more!!! I've been there, done that, waiting for websites to download three days later, and still not finished!! Any ideas!! Help!!! Please!! -- vja4Him

  17. Yes, it really does matter. God created this world that we live in. He has provided us with creative minds, tons of evidence for His creation. You actually answered your own question with the Bible verse below .... We should be ready to give an answer to those who ask us .... In the New Testament we read of references to Noah, the creation, etc. Not everyone is interested in the same thing. Some people will respond to issues concerned with science, others history, or whatever. I remember when I was working in a factory as a new Christian. I shared the book I had just purchased, "Evidence That Demands A Verdict," with one of the scientists who worked there. He was not a Christian, but had many questions. I bought an extra copy of Josh McDowell's book and gave it to the man. He was fascinated and began to understand God, the Bible and Christianity, and I hope eventually gave his life to Christ.
  18. God created a lie? It would not be a lie if you know the truth. God is able to create a mature earth complete with fossils. It is only theory how fossils are created no man was here to see it happen. 1Co 3 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, "He catches the wise in their own craftiness"; Denise We know from the Bible that God did send a great flood over the entire Earth. The evidence clearly shows that there was a world-wide flood, with many animals trapped in the flood quickly.
  19. I agree with Nebula concerning the idea that satan put the fossils in the earth to try and deceive us! The devil's power is extremely limited. Besides, the fossil evidence supports creation by God almighty, and a young Earth. There is no contradiction with the Bible, and the concept of a young Earth, and dinosaurs and humans living together. The fossils are clear evidence of a world-wide catastrophic flood!
  20. Nebula -- Do you have any references giving evidence that dinosaurs are not reptiles and are warm-blooded? I remember reading that somewhere ...... Would like to read something on that .... Thanks.
  21. Sorry, I'm afraid not... Stars were made on day 4, so they too would have to be about 6000 years old, so the fact that, If light is constant, by proxy of the time it would take to travel from such great distances (millions of years) the existance of such stars would seem contrary to my standpoint that the Earth IS roughly 6000 years old. However I'm personally comforted by the fact that God does far greater and mysterious things than I could imagine. Its also worth noting that there is no reference to how long Adam and Eve were in Eden before the fall.....was it days, weeks, months?....maybe even thousands, millions of years? Does it sound preposterous that they were around for millions of years?........really?.........doesn't sound so preposterous to an evolutionist when you say the same of dinosaurs...... The Bible clearly tells of the age of Adam and many others. That would lead us back to the when they were in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 5:3-5, "And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.
  22. Here is an interesting article that talks about a theory of gravity and time distortion! How Can We See Distant Stars In A Young Universe? http://www.answersingenesis.org/docs/405.asp ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  23. 1 Corinthians 15:45 says that Adam is the first man. There were no humans before Adam. There is no place for the Gap Theory, or any other similar theory of life before the six-day creation account in Genesis. Those theories are sorry attempts to mix Christianity with Evolution. If God says it, I believe it, and that settles it!!!
  24. Old Timer: Thanks for your suggestion. I already have lots of good/great books on Creationism. There is just so much information, and I'd like to get some feedback from others from the Worthy Boards and compile a list of "Some" of the best evidences to share with people. Thanks.
