  1. Hey all! As some of you know who have spoken to me over the years, I am a disabled guy since 2009. I am trying to get employment from home on the computer to augment my income. We just bought a house and we are ok financially, but I would like to do a little better. My goal is to work part-time (no more than $1000.00 a month) so we can pay off the house in 15 years so if the event happens that I don't live long enough to see the 30-year note paid off, I would ask that you pray that an opportunity presents itself that would meet this need. Thanks so much..

  2. God is so gracious, giving me gifts not only did I not expect, but certainly don't deserve. I will be skyping with Jelena, the blonde in the pic on the right holding the selfie stick (I didn't know what that was before last summer) and she is someone I adore so much, I feel she is a daughter as she was so concerned with my health after only knowiing me for something like 3 weeks, she is a blessing to my soul and my heart

  3. Hello brothers and sisters in Christ!!!!

Last spring my health was deteriorating, financially we were struggling, and the situation was taking a toll on my marriage. The LORD allowed us to participate in the J1 program, hosting foreign students while they are here on work & travel summer visas. We were blessed with 2 young women from Serbia and a younger boy from Ukraine (ages ranged between 19-24). Well, the two girls were the "daughters" we never had, and the boy had just suffered a tragedy at home claiming his father and little sister in a car accident weeks before coming here.

They are all still in contact with us, the girls Skype me at least once a week, one of them is coming back to finish her Masters degree and we will see her again in August, they ask advice on life and one of them has a bad relationship with her father, and I am helping her to smooth the road with him. The health situation has improved with hope for the future now, and the rent the kids paid us over the summer financially eased the burden and we turned the corner. God continues to walk with me, not promising all will be sunshine, but as Casting Crowns sings, I will praise Him in the storm!!!

  4. Hello all,

Please pray that the LORD will provide me with employment. I am a disabled 51 yr old who has health issues and as such can't drive anymore. I have eyesight problems due to diabetes. If I could find some home based computer work i could do that as I can make my environment suit my disability, but have had no success in finding any real employment opportunities. I would like to have some purpose to my days regarding work and help my wife who is working full time to support us. I appreciate the prayers.

  5. Hi there,

I feel your pain. We lost the entire circle of friends when I became a believer. Now to be honest, I was a zealot, so it was my own doing. But the reality is they haven't come back as I have gotten better at not being obnoxious. That was 16 years ago. But the LORD provides other friends over time. My church family is awesome, I have had health issues since and the church is there at every turn to help. Although it seems bleak, remember the Israelites decided to turn back to Egypt and slavery not truting that God had better for them further down the road. Trust in our LORD that better things are in store.

  6. Hi there. I was in your husbands position not long ago. I can tell you that prayer is what is needed, as God is the only one who can (and will) change his heart. I was a believer for 11 years before my wife came to the faith, but I was selfish and self serving. I treated her horribly. I acted like she was my property, but Ephesians 4:30 changed my heart  Keep praying that God will impact Him. The lesson might not be exclusively for him, but rather God wants you to get so close to Him, that your husband has to fight through the glory of our LORD to get to you. I'll keep praying for you

30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
  7. Hi all. Please pray for my 19 yr old son. He was brought up in the faith, but has slowly wandered first regarding entertainment choices, and now with the people he socializes with. He is going out with a young woman who is an unbeliever, she loves horror movies, she has tattoos of Harry Potter and he is focused on video games rather then anything substantive. He went to college for welding, and I think he thinks he has to do barely enough to get by at work, and that isn't really working either.

  8. I don't think anyone takes the message of this group serious.  Nearly every Christian group out there has come against them, both liberal and conservative.  They target people that in many cases have done absolutely nothing wrong.  Many are good Christians.  I don't agree with anything about the way they behave, but what really makes no sense is that they don't target the people they believe are the cause of judgment on America.  They don't reserve their hate filled speech for homosexuals, pornographers and abortionists.  They attack the military for supposedly suffering casualties as part of judgment on this nation.  Even if we are under judgment, why go after people that did nothing wrong, even by their own teachings?  It is one of the most pathetic groups I have ever seen.  They don't represent God.  They don't represent Christianity.  They come across to me as people seeking fame.  I think the leaders like the attention, and they have brain washed the congregation, the same way Muslim leaders brainwash people into hating Christians and Jews.  Then the hate filled people go about on a path of destruction.  What concerns me about this group is not the silly protests and hateful rants.  What I am concerned about is how far they will go for publicity in the future.  As they become more and more irrelevant, and denounced by nearly everyone, will they become violent as many extreme cult groups eventually do?  You can't deny them their freedom of speech and freedom of religion, but I wouldn't turn my back on them.

well I can tell you I used to belong to a site that was run mostly by European atheists and they believe all Christians are like WBC. The amount of damage control I used to have to do just to try and get a balanced conversation was ridiculous, both from the junk WBC did, and the fact that these "intelligent" people couldn't see that not every Christian is like a person who "claims" to be one.

  9. Oh boy do I have thoughts about this lol. My responses will be in italics

As we approach the final battle, one of Satan's favourite weapons is convincing those who have been deceived by him that they are the ones who hold the moral high ground. This is probably the most cunning weapon that he has.

When a Christian points out evil they are told that they are 'full of hate'. Because Jesus' greatest commandment is love, Christians are made to feel as if they are false Christians, because they do not embrace every perversion, crime and depravity on Earth. Those who understand the Bible know that this is a lie, but new Christians and those who are weak in their faith are being misled.

Don't you just hate it when non-Christians claim to know more about Jesus than we do?

The same method is used to claim that Bible morality is not really moral at all. The scoffers and haters claim that the Christian God is a hateful god. But who is to decide what is right and wrong? Only God can do that.

I just left a site that I have been a member of for 10 years due to this very phenomenon. I am vocal on the homosexual marriage battle, although I think it should be "legal" for civil unions I don't think that Christians have a right to say that unbelievers can't enter into contracts but I don't want them called "marriages" as that connotates religious unions. But I was excoriated for hating etc. Finally the verse Titus 3:9-11 came to mind

    Titus 3:9-11
9 But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. 10 As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

So I have decided that I needed to leave as this was nothing but rancorous. They heard the truth, now it's time for the Holy Spirit tp do the work

Satan had a massive triumph when he introduced political-correctness and it's extremely frustrating to fight it.

We cannot speak out against sexual depravity because it is being seen as hateful towards homosexuals and adulterers, we cannot speak out against Islamic terrorism because it is being portrayed as being hateful towards Muslims, and we cannot speak out against Marxist policies because it is seen as being hateful towards the poor.

As you might imagine, the site is very leftist, and that's fine as I truly think that we are trying to accomplish (politically) the same thing, but the venom form the liberal left is really laughable.

Many people believe that Satan is a nasty, vindictive hater who brings violence to the World, but Satan is a sweet-talking peacemaker, who acts with a veneer of kindness and compassion. Any violence or hatred that he brings, he brings later. At first he comes waving the flag of peace.

Satan disguises himself as God. So many people do not realise this and this is our biggest challenge when it comes to fighting evil, because most people do not see it as being evil. How are we expected to fight an enemy when so many do not understand who the enemy is?

So at the moment I can only be content to let the deniers, the fallen and the ignorant hold the moral high ground. Let them keep it for as long as they can.

We can only tell people about the lie and spread the word of Salvation. Those with ears will listen to us and those without won't.

A day will come when we will all have to confront evil face-to-face. Let us hope that we are wearing the full armour of God when we do so. Meanwhile, we just have to keep strolling on and gather as many as we can to fight the good fight.

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.~Ephesians 6:12

But it's the lie that really bothers me, the fact that good is being called evil and evil is being called good. Sometimes I just don't know how to cope with this. I find this the hardest struggle of all. I sometimes wish it was a simple all-out battle between good and evil but at the moment it's not, it's just a war of deceit.

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!~Isaiah 5:20

That's why I can only leave the moral high ground to those who wish to take it. I don't claim to hold any moral ground any more like I used to - I just try to speak the truth (even though I'm living in an ocean of lies) and hope that there are some who will be able to see that truth. I don't see, at this moment in time, what else there is that I can do!

    Any thoughts?

  10. 1 Chronicles 29

29 And David the king said to all the assembly, “Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is young and inexperienced, and the work is great, for the palace will not be for man but for the LordGod. So I have provided for the house of my God, so far as I was able, the gold for the things of gold, the silver for the things of silver, and the bronze for the things of bronze, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood, besides great quantities of onyx and stones for setting, antimony, colored stones, all sorts of precious stones and marble. Moreover, in addition to all that I have provided for the holy house, I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, and because of my devotion to the house of my God I give it to the house of my God: 3,000 talents[a] of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and 7,000 talents of refined silver, for overlaying the walls of the house,[b] and for all the work to be done by craftsmen, gold for the things of gold and silver for the things of silver. Who then will offer willingly, consecrating himself[c]today to the Lord?”

  11. Hello all,

I have three requests to ask you to bring to the throne of grace along side me. My son is in college, and seems to be doing well, but he is often withdrawn and sullen. I ask him if everything is ok, but he says yes and doesn't go into alot of detail. He is at a technical trade school, and graduates in July, so I think he is becoming impatient with the speed of the process, but I pray that He draws closer to God and sees that the LORD has a plan for him and he needs to be patient.

The other two are health related. I have a high school friend who asked that I pray for her friend, Nancy, who is going through a second bout of cancer treatment. May the LORD heal her totally, and in the process  draw Nancy to Him.

The last one is sadder. We have a 18 yr old in our church who has been fighting a sarcoma in his eye. He has been battling this for three years now, and his scans just revealed that it has come back. The prognosis isn't good. Please keep Nick and his family in your prayers.

Thanks so much for interceding for these concerns.

    Luke 6:19

And the whole multitude sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.

  16. Keep in mind though that Satan is the enemy and Islam is a tool.

exactly what I was going to say....... Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

  17. What I have observed about this ( and unfortunately many other topics as well) is that we as a Christian community seem to think that we have an obligation to legislate our ethics/morality/ethos whatever you want to call it, and that will somehow make someone realize the "error" of their ways. We (Christians) aren't to condone sin, we aren't to take part in it, but we (The US) aren't exclusively a Christian society, and we aren't a theocracy (although I wish we were). So how are we to interact with those who don't share our outlook? And how are we to act when we don't have a majority vote? Remember someday we will be the minority (Revelation says so) and if we are showing so little respect for a differing opinion then you shouldn't be surprised when the table will be turned and we will be called to be "arrested" for our thoughts.

  18. he is from my denomination, and we use alot of his material for Sunday School topics, I think he is very good, but he is a deep thinker and it isn't for those who aren't interested in uncomfortable topics

  19. Offline prolly better for me but can't say for sure at this time. I'm still trying to figure out exactly how this all works lol

The way this works is, you choose players from the appointed positions (Qb, RB, WR, TE etc) from a pool of players that are in the NFL. Weekly, the league tabulates their real life stats and gives a value for them in the manner of points. The scoring is different from league to league, but for example, in the league I run, for every 10 yds a QB throws for in a game, you would get 1 pt (so if Tom Brady threw for 250 yds that weekend you would get 25 pts from yardage) For every TD he threw you would get 6 pts. For every int he threw the scoring would deduct 2 pts from your total. So for example, if Tom B threw for 250 yds 3 Tds and 1 Int, then he would accumulate for you that weekend 25(250/10)+(6*3 Tds)18-2(ints)=41 pts. You have the same kind of values for rushing yds/receiving yds/ etc. You total all the pts your "team" accumulated, and compare that against the person you played on your schedule, to see if you "won" the game

  20. One of the elders in our men's study group says that when we accepted Christ, then "eternity" with Him started that moment. So in effect, you are already "home". I understand what you desire, I have many health challenges (not to mention life in general) but the LORD is good, and He has decreed you be here, with us, for a while longer. Take heart the He knows your longing for home, and will bring you to Himself when the assignments He has for you are done.

    • Thumbs Up 1
  21. I have no problem with a blanket, or a garment that opens so expose as little as possible of the mothers breast. The Greek word for "modesty" is euschēmosynē which is defined as

    1) charm or elegance of figure, external beauty, decorum, modesty, seemliness

    a) of external charm, comeliness

The idea of being "elegant" and having decorum is an integral part of this. The "idea" or concept that you don't want to offend or put another brother/sister in a situation of discomfort/alarm/offense should be enough for a Christian to understand that many people have different levels of comfort regarding public nudity, for whatever reason. Swimming certainly isn't a sexual activity, but I don't want an eyeful then either. The mother should be sensitive enough to what is appropriate in public, and changing cultural morays aren't the yardstick, rather scripture should be. As to "handling it the wrong way" that is an opinion that is formed by the culture, not objective truth.

  22. well, for all that it's worth, being a former restaurant mgr, I think it's in poor taste to be uncovered and nursing. Just because a law says it's "legal" doesn't make it right. Do I need to cite the laws of the land that are on the books as we speak and we might actually agree that the idea is absurd? In the end, there are plenty of things that while on private property you can't do because the owner doesn't allow it. A shopping mall can institute a rule about gang colors/explicit t-shirts/whether you are allowed to carry a knife etc on their grounds, while those items might be "legal" that doesn't mean that the private owner has to allow it. But as usual this country is more interested in pushing the individuals rights as opposed to common sense. And btw, I don't think this would have had any traction if it wasn't CFA, due to the recent definition of marriage controversy that ensued. Again, my opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it
