Laces Out Dan

Yeah, afterall He did create us, and love us, and give us anything we'll ever need. I just thought of another question when I read that... Since God is a spirit, God is love, why do we call Him He? I know that it doesn't sound right to call Him it, or she, but I am not sure why we use Him. Is it becuase we have nothing else to call Him?

I know you are supposed to capitalize God's name, and everything referring to him, like Him, the Light, the Christ... But what if you are talking about you and God in the pronoun we? If I just say we then it feels like I'm degrading God, but if i spell it We, then it sounds wrong too. What is it suppose to be?

yeah i can often get rid of the thought as soon as i think it, but sometimes i just dwell on it, becuase its just something that i want so bad. but yet my heart doesnt. its like a battle

I can't seem to find a way to get impure thoughts about women out of my head. I can just be sitting in a classroom at school and glance at a girl and BAM. sin. im sure you can all relate to me, and i just would like to know how to get rid of those thoughts for good.

Yeah i do like the way you term that. haha play dough in the sky. It's so amazing that God created everything. Just think of yourself for example, think of all the cells and bacterica that live inside you. A LOT. and we are so small compared to everythign else. God is awesome for real

haha yeah the villan got really mad because she/he lost the game and blamed it on dan marino for holding it the wrong way. i cant remember if thats exactly how it goes but its something like that. I get encouragement when i go to church, but like on a monday night when i have had a hard day, i can come on here and talk about. or if i have a question or something. i think its pretty awesome i wonder if anyone on here has a myspace?

I hope:) it really seems like i keep growing in the spirit, and then i question more and more and i just get the munchies for His word. Dan Marino And i just used that screen name because my name is dan and it just sounds kinda catchy haha.

Wow thanks so much for all these. I cant even type as fast as i can think. maybe i am growing spiritually? I have a youth group, but its kinda far and i only get there every other week if that. I will definitely look into some of those books. To be completely honest, i cant stop smoking cussing.... i know its like shocking to see that on a christian forum. But like you i have a low- self esteem, and often i am anxcious about school and what people think of me. I dont act liek it though, and thats why i starting smoking. I know i hate it so much. I have to sneak out side, that is lying to my parents for one, and then smoke just to feel better, then i go inside and read my bible! that isnt a normal combination! and i know even when i am smoking its wrong and i feel bad, but i cant even function unless i have one Thank you for listening, and thanks for letting me be so honest.

Yeah sure, I'm 14. ive been a christian my whole life. It used to be easy to understand, whatever my parents tol dme i believed, and i had many really awesome experiences at church.. That is how i know God is real, because i can feel him. But lately(about a year) ive been questioning everything ive been handed, and so far God actaully answers and i still believe. I usually just use search engines to find out what people think about certain things, i read aobut different religions. I am trying to find out for myself that God is all that the bible says. And lightwait... I like talking aobut this stuff, and i like learning from wise people. God bless you

I have an example, i was reading the bible a couple months ago, and i came across a verse 1 Corinthians 11:14 Does not the native sense of propriety itself teach you that for a man to wear long hair is a dishonor to him... And i was sort of confused because of Sampson and his long hair. But then i read it again and noticed he said "native sense of propriety" and doesn't that mean their customs at the time... That's what i meant when i said that. Also a lot of parables Jesus tells are of back then, I'm not saying they aren't true. But, when i read them i just take what he says and try to see it as another example in modern day so i can understand the message better. For some reason, as i was typing that, God told me that I shouldn't worry about the creation and every single detail, becuase that just confuses me and I lose focus. Is that god? or is that myself talking to me?

It's so hard to understand, i dont know if anyone truely knows how it happened. We can only try to comprehend. I cant even explain what i think. it just ends up like nonsense. haha. i never read the bible all the way through, but as far as i know, i guess it never said "nothing" but it never said what he made earth out of. the first words of the bible are "in the begining god created the heavens and the earth" i guess that means out of nothing, like physically out of nothing. We were meant to give God pleasure, to glorify Him. Jesus is god so yeah See what i mean by nonsense :/ i cant really make a point

TY tess ive been looking for place liek this, i liek to discuss, and i hate to say that sometimes i liek to argue, and i think it expands my knowledge to discuss these things. But i cant believe everythign i read(other than bible) Yeah i believe that god created everything. He created everythign out of nothing. Yes the bible is without errors, but some of the thigns you have to interpret, because a lot of things are dealing with the customs at the time. I only read the bible, and the rest comes from my own conclusions. His Ambassador... yeah obviously i have no "training" but if i did, are you saying that no matter what i say it would be right because i have had "training"? I am not avoiding anything, if that is what you are saying. Jesus is our way to get back to God, He frees us from the curse of sin, we dont have to offer burnt sacrifices to god anymore because he was the ultimate one, without Him, the old testament is incomplete. Yeah ive been saved, ive repented A LOT. but i always seem to sin, no matter what i do i always fail. Its so hard not to. I just liek to think about different things that are hard to understand. God wants us to question Him, because that is how we grow. No not doubt god, but question everything He does, that way we can learn from him. God has always proven to me that He is real.

What do you guys think about these statements: God is pure love. Adam and Eve were not two individuals, but were the first people(out of cavemen or some form of humans that had no sense of their creator, who are just like animals) who recognized God and had fellowship with him and heard his voice. God didn't create the universe in 7 days, at least not what a day means to us. Science and God's story about what happened in the begining are one in the same. BUT to early man, dont you think if God would have explained literally what happened, that man would have been utterly confused? Yunno, haha, being that people thought that was the earth was flat until not that long ago. The tree in the garden was questioning God and thinking in the physical, and wanting more. Not to say anything bad against women, but i need an example: Isn't church supposed to be where we worship God? BUT a lot of the churches decorate significately and want to glorify him in the physical. Does God really care about this? No. He looks at the heart, not at what color we paint the walls. These are my interpretations of the bible. I am not very sure, i am a man and i could be wrong. But it is the only thing that makes sense to me

Thanks a lot for the encouragement and advice... I think a lot of the problem is that I go to a public school, and its soo hard to go to school and be with all of my "friends" and they are all into drinking and everything else everyone does, and when i am in an atmosphere liek that, i quickly lose site. All my friends know i am a christian, and i talk with them a lot of the times, often though they get mad at me for "judging them" or they just dont wanna hear about god. I noticed that the more i stop sinning in school, and stop fitting in, the less amount of "friends" i have, and i get lonely and try to fit it. It's tough

Yeah dude, ive done that a few times, just crying at the altar or in my room just being overwhelmed. not that this lends anything to the purpose of this Question: What is the difference between God and the Holy Spirit? I understand that Jesus is God in human form, but i cant understand the different between God and the holy spirit....

I was always a christian, until the last 2 years(i'm 14). I still am, i just find myself backsliding ALOT and questioning God, but somehow God always gets through to me, and i love Him. Then after i accept that He is Love, and Love is God, then i backslide again and again and again. The more times i do it, the more i get sick of it. And the more times i do it, the worse i feel. I dont know what to do, it just feels like i keep going in a circle, and i would like to get out of it. Anyone feel the same, or anyone have any advice? TY <3

Yeah that is what i think too. When I get filled with God's word, i seriously cant help but to go around telling people about Him. Doesn't it say that God will provide us with the words when we try to speak to the officials? i think, and i guess that means he provides us with the words to turn people to Christ.

Yeah, in that case that is important. But, i dont think its more important than experiencing god. because if you dont know what God is all about(love) then how can you expect to tell others about it.

If that were true, then Adam would have never walked with God in the Garden. I dont even believe Adam was one man, but that's not the point. Same thing with Paul, i guess. He once hated christians and then he was walking down a road and BAM. He was a believer from then on. yeah i know he was a jew, but he wasnt a christian at the time. apparently you dont need knowledge, except for what god has already given to you at birth. by that i mean you dont have to know everything about God when you first get saved. actually, i took my athiest friend to church, and somehow he ended up getting saved, and said that he felt a lightness in his chest, and then he said that when he first walked in the church, "i am ashamed to admit when i walked in here i laughed to myself at these people worshipping a non-existing god
