  1. Would it be better to leave the child home alone while the parents go to church?
  2. Yes, it did fall. The term "if" is defined as a supposition. In other words, your question is the same as saying: "Suppose a tree falls in the forest..." To which I say "of course it falls." Of Course?..if you did'nt see it fall-you have "Faith" it fell. Just like all Religions!
  3. Of course not..In the same way, a parent could make his child go to church or let the kid decide for himself. That was my point.
  4. Woops! I added to Why so blind's post by accident.
  5. You might not know because you remain in wilful ignorance. But that doesn't mean nobody knows. Anyone with even half a brain can see that the universe must have a creator. They must also see the obvious fact that evolution is completely, utterly, ludicrous. Do you think Carl Sagan was ignorant? Look..just because I admit I am an agnostic, does not mean I am ignorant. "Nature is all around us and for lack of a better word, is a miracle. The Earth evolved over billions of years into a place with everything in it to support life. If there is indeed a God...that makes him even more magnificent. If Earth is the only "GOD" we have! Just because you aren't convinced, that doesn't refute the proofs. Well, you've obviously made up your mind that you can never know anything for sure.

  7. My comparisons of Muslim fundamentalism & Christian Fascism is just to illustrate how potentially dangerous the world can become when these religions are twisted and driven by fanatics. I'm positive these religions were created with the best of intentions, But why do they end up trying to convert secular society to one ideaology? I think that is all Christianity really is, along with every other world religion. One poster made the comment.."God hates religion". If there is a God, that's a comment I agree with in some measure. This "God" cannot and never will be forced on the rest of a free world no matter how one religion may try to impose itself in such a way. To me,.It ruins the whole purpose of choosing to follow Jesus for youself..or Allah, or whatever name you want to call it. Picture this scenario.....you are there 2000 years ago, at the sermon on the mount and you see Jesus preaching to the crowd-Now before you have a chance to start working your way thru the crowd, some bully starts shoving you forward and screaming "You better listen to that man and heed what he says or you're going to hell! Maybe you can make your own choice to get closer to Jesus and hear the sermon. You would tell that bully to get lost right?
  8. Well look at it..Do'nt you think Osama Bin Laden is arrogant to assume all other beliefs including yours and mine are wrong? And then take it to the extreme that we must be killed by him and his zealot followers? This is what I fear this intloerance can lead to in any religion. Not just singling out Christians such as yourself..One size does not fit all. It could be that I'm generalizing a bit too much, but do'nt you see the danger?
  9. Why do you think the muslims hate us Floating Axe? Do you think these muslim lunatics feel sorry for what they have done? Does the Christian zealot who bombs an abortion clinic know he is a terrorist too? Does he feel sorry about the seventeen year old secretary he murdered in the name of God? If there is a God...how sorry do you think he is? There is a huge difference between the Muslim terrorist and the Christian "zealot" who bombs an abortion clinic. The terrorist has the support and encouragement of his religious leaders and his nation. He becomes a hero and is told he will gain Paradise and some odd number of virgins for his action. The Christian who bombs the clinic will be called "criminally insane" by the religious leaders and the nation. He will receive a trial and either be imprisoned or sent to a mental institution. He probably will feel no sorrow as he is most likely suffering from some form of psychosis. Big difference. How many church leaders in the U.S. do you hear calling for "abortion clinic bombings"??? How many religious leaders in Arab countries do you hear calling for acts of terrorism??? Big difference.
  10. Well, maybe it was too broad of a statement on my part. If a person feels that he or she has hurdles to overcome in their life...is it crazy to believe they could have the stregnth or the will to find their own solution? I stated before that if Christianity was supposed to be a solution for the world-I do'nt think it worked. Sorry I took so long to respond.-Lennon.
  11. Jesus already came down and paid the ultimate price to save you, John, and me. If you don't want His free gift of life eternal, He won't force it on you. The offer always stands, though. It was a dangerous thing to go around telling people "I am King of Kings"during the height of the Roman empire! From a historical standpoint I believe it got Jesus in hot water and led to his crucifixion. I do not claim to be an expert on the details around Christ's life. I would say a lot of it is a mystery and subject to interpretation and I doubt the bible is an accurate account. Lost in translation over 2000 years..think about it. It may comfort a Christian like you to believe that all his suffering was for you or us as a race that needs salvation thru him, but I think he was a victim under Roman tyranny just as the jews suffered under Hitler. I Do not see his dying as being a gift to me but a tragedy that happened 2000 years ago!
  12. Tell that to a mathematician. Sincerely, you are buying into some Morallly Relativistic teachings. It's a lie my friend. What you and I personally think are moral has no bearing on Gods Justice. Neither will the impact be the same on society. You may think that each man sets his own moral agenda and follows his own guidelines. That's fine I then have to ask, "Who's to Judge between you and I when there is a dispute"? You might in particular feel that beastiality is Ok and that as long as the animal is for it and consents that it's morally responsible. However when you lay charge to my Cow and harm it and my property in trespass. Who decides where the line is? Sincerely, I know that's an absurd notion. However when man is left to the devices of his own wicked heart. Robbery becomes virtue and not vice. God told Cain that murdering his brother due to the result of his own anger was a bad choice which would lead to further death. God told Cain to rule over his anger and the individual choice he was about to make. Cain ignored God and killed his brother. He was subsequently cursed. Should we choose the morally equivalent curse or the Blessings and favor of God? Is it really all relative? Peace, Dave Oh-oh Math! My worse subject in school!!!! Maybe I better get back to you later...Peace to you Brother!

  14. You're labeled a nonbeliever in Christ here for the purposes of being in this forum. Actually you labeled yourself admitting to not being a Christian. Jesus said,"I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life." That's absolute, whether you believe it or not. Ill say it again..You being convinced of this is a matter of YOUR faith- it still does not make it absolute. This "I'm right and everybody else is wrong" gets nowhere! I felt I was clear on this point. If a tree falls in the forest and no one was there to "see" it fall.....Did it fall?
  15. Just the other day I saw that old bumper sticker that reads: Jesus said it-I believe it-and that settles it! This certainly shows just how brainwashed an individual can be if they do'nt use their head and do some thinking on their own! How could you want a sticker like that on your car?
  16. Simple, for one not to believe in Christ he is considered a "non-believer". Whatever else you "believe" in is irrelevant as Christ is the one way to salvation. "Religions' aren't, but Christianity is. Yes, free will was one of God's greatest gifts, but mankind abuses it. Choosing not to believe in God and Christ does not make them "go away". We will all be held accountable for our decisions...remember that. And I could also say that what you believe is irrelevent. There are no absolutes! And as far as I can see it, A devout Christian can convince himself of anything...but that does not mean it is infallable and not subject to flaws! Because all organized religion seems to have failed. If it was meant as a solution to a world in peril..it has failed miserably Christian! And if you feel the need to wait around for Jesus to come down and save you-go ahead. But it seems pretty pointless to me.
  17. I don't believe the Bible, because I find that it has many holes in it, it confuses rather then teaches(in my opinion) and events that occur in it really don't make sense to me. Furthermore, alot of my questions I've had regarding the Bible, I have gotten irrelevent answers, faulty interpretations and assumptions. Let's put it this way..I'm open to the idea that a finite force of some kind was able to give the universe the 'push' it needed in order for it to have come into existence. I don't believe in a personal deity or one that watches over the universe with an all-seeing eye. I believe when I die my body will rot in the Earth, and knowing that bodies do rot when one dies, is evidence enough for me. Exactly Lypse..The entire bible is a collection of assumptions and confusion.

  19. For clarity's sake may I ask you if you are a Muslim JL? No!!..I was making a mockery of that insane Islamic Jihad against America! And how fanatical and ridiculous it is to claim their religion is to be followed by all-or they will kill us! I feel this points out how dangerous the world can become when religions are hijacked by morons!!!
  20. OK Muslim... Your "god" teaches you to suffer not an infidel--rather kill him. Our God, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob tells us to LOVE our enemies! I would much rather run into the arms of a loving Father God than a tyrannical, made-up idol like Allah (which is just nothing but imaginary and is powerless, of course!) You better go back and read the post again floating axe! I'm not a muslim!!!...I was illustrating a point about muslim Terrorism against all other beliefs! You've twisted my comment, but then you're good at twisting things aren't you? However, parts of the bible that teach about loving your enemies as yourself are fine! We need a little more of that in this world..and How!

  22. Terrorism is the result of the great Satan-America's rejection of the one true God..."Allah"! Such is the battle cry of Islamic zealots. And the comments you just posted sound just as self-righteous and potentially dangerous! And just because you would claim I'm a nonbeliever does not mean I would believe anything..such as one religion claiming to be the absolute truth. And to say Terrorism is a result of People like Me? Do you have any idea how inflammatory and fanatical you come across? You better look in the mirror before you judge your brothers and sisters Christian!!!
