What if instead of an Angel it's a image of the Christ? We don't really know what he looks like anyway.

On life's busy thoroughfares we meet with angels unawares. . . . Helen Steiner Rice Colossians 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, If you have a picture of an angel, or a figurine, or a statue, or a charm that you wear around your neck is it wrong?

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. How much of a calm and gentle spirit you achieve, then, will depend on how regularly and consistently, persistently and obediently you partake of the word of God, your spiritual food. -Shirley Rice The "chat" isn't about Defending it's about Defining.

I agree with you 100%! Now, let me ask you this do you agree with the idea that children need to be seperated in public schools acording to their age groop in order for them to recieve the knowledge and development resulting from the educational process?

What does home schooling have to do with keeping your kids with you in church? Well, I might have noticed a pattern in homeschooling parents and the issue of segregation in churches. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that the formal institutions, agencies, and organizations of a country not only transmit knowledge and cultural heritage that influence the social and intellectual growth of individuals but, political and religious overall views of our attitude toward life ?

Doesn't things change? Halloween is mainly known for free candy for childern. Wasn't the Roman Catholics evil people many years ago? They were not men of God, they were greedy and murderous. Nowdays are Roman Catholics the same as they were years ago? Things change. Yes, things do change. Let me ask you a question. Does the world celebrate Christmas? Or, do the celebrate Santa Clause and Presents? Now, ask yourself this: What do you celebrate on Christmas day? The answer in probably not Santa Clause and Presents, is it?

First, you've made you're faith very clear and I want to applaud you for that; the Spirit moved me. Now let me say: After a quick review of Luke 18:15,16 I believe you may have a point. However, I don't see how it's of the world? If it is then, please, take me back to when the first thought of segregation was concieved. Also, I was wondering if you have any children of your own? Yes I have two, one is 17 and the other is 12. They were raised this way, for the most part (in the beginning I didn't know any better). The segregation of age groups began with the humanism and education movement under Horace Mann, that is why it is worldly it comes from a worldly philosophy of human development and interaction, not God's. Do you homeschool?

and your point is....? My point is that when I say, "the gospel has changed" I mean that it is no longger a tangible thing. That it is spiritual and that that makes it harder to understand. Thus we have the following verses: 1 Cor 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able. Matthew 13: 3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: 8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. 9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. 10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

GOSPEL is the English word used to translate the Greek word for "good news." Christians use the word to designate the message and story of God's saving activity through the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of God's unique Son Jesus. Although "gospel" translates a Greek word from the New Testament, the concept of good news itself finds its roots in the Hebrew language of the Old Testament. Bisar is the Hebrew verb which means "to proclaim good news." Unlike the English language, Hebrew is able to convey the subject of the proclamation in the verb's root; no direct object was needed with the verb bisar to make clear that the subject of an announcement was "good news." Originally, the word was used to describe the report of victory in battle (2 Sam. 4:10). 2 Sam. 4:10 When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings:

Don't you see my fellow christian it is the same topic. The reason my heart directs me to believe that children need to be seperated from the adults (their parents) is because, they need to hear the gospel as it is today. In old testiment the children learned about the gospel as it was then with the aduts (their parents), but not today. The reason why is that when the battle becomes personal it also becomes harder to understand and to except. Your telling me children of this generation are stupid. Wow you give them no credit. I've overheard my daughter witnessing to the daughter of a witch and her witnessing over a period of time, led the whole family to Christ. My daughter dreams dreams of the Lord and sees visions; did she find these teachings in her children's church-nope. Kids her age are having sex and some have had babies that young and do you think they are not intelligent enough to understand the things of God, once saved?? This last sunday, the special speaker's message reached my teen and I could see-he was getting hope and courage to face the trials he has been facing. Jesus does that through prepared ministers-this man says he gets his messages on his face. I love to here when men of God get their messages from prayer and fasting-it is anointed, fresh manna. Are children don't need no half chewed garbage- give them the simple gospel from a prepared anointed minister. The Gospel doesn't change-it is the same simple message-we don't need to change it for anyone. As long as the anointing is behind it to preach-then the children will be blessed. Now I'm not saying my kids are perfect-we all are far from that-but they need the simple gospel preached, so they can go out one day and sow the same into others lifes. We diffinently do not need a "touch your neighbor ten times and turn around 3 times" to get your blessing message. With the Holy Spirit behind the message-lifes are changed. Our Children need to be well equiped for the world they are in today. blessings candi First, let me say this: Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. Then, let me say this: Not only are children of this generation stupid, but so are the adults. For example: Matthew 25: 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. Here we have a perfect definition of stupid. Knowing that the Groom was on his way and yet they took no oil with them. You cann't tell me that knowing right and wrong; knowing that Jesus died for your sins and then sinning agains God is a smart thing to do. The point is that we all have trouble with repentance and why make it any harder than it has to be? If your child needed a booster seat at the resteraunt you were dinning at would you deny him, or her it?

Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Maybe in some churches who have prepared anointed teachers. But for the most part of what I have experienced, the teachers are not prepared and it is nothing more than a babysitting service. If I needed a babysitter, I would grab one prior to going to church-but why would I want my children to miss a blessings. I've had a mix of experiences. I've been involved in a church were it was manditory to serve, if your child was involved, I was involved and I observed many faithful who were taken advantage of by those who didnt' show up to serve-but to tell you the truth-I really didnt' want those people to minister to my kids anyway. I've also experienced my children being entertained but not fed the word of God-maybe some kids need clowns, etc to get them excited for the Lord-but I don't find it appropriate. Will they face a clown in heaven-I don't think so.They need the word of God to grow spiritually. And children's ministry shouldn't be taken lightly-these are precious young people. I've also experienced my older son not being supervised and playing videos-while the Lord ministered to me and I was being fed the word of God. I guess we have had better success when my kids have stayed in the service. I haven't had to do a lot of extra explaining to my kids afterward. Sometimes they want to talk about it, sometimes not. If children are going to have church, it should be structured simular to the real thing. Praise/Worship, preaching of the Word, prayer, tithes. They should grow with the Lord, they should learn to serve in the community. Kids are smarter than we give them credit. When I have to wonder if my kids are being fed, then it's not worth sending them to their babysitting session. I would feel just as guilty sending them to the babysitter and going on to church. I've heard of others having better success in this than we have had. I've been involved with children's ministery, when I felt the Lord wanted me to, it was a wonderful experience. Then I found out my kids weren't being ministered to and it was only when they found out they were my kids did they want to change-I'm sorry-you minister the same to the lowliest to the grandest and don't play favorites-kids see this and internalize it. We need to love them like Jesus does, encourage the gifts and calling and feed, feed, feed them. I guess I've been burnt. Sorry, I'm sure their are great places out their-or maybe God's speaking to me about it. I think this says it all people. Luke 18: 15 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

I think I know what scripture she read, I read it to. I'll look it up real quick, but in the mean time get this: that Hell used to be divided by a great gulf and Paradise was on the other side. I believe that Jesus went to the other side of Hell and collected the saint, before asending to Heaven in order to apply the blood atonement.

I'm reminded of Matthew 16:2,3,4 and indeed I do believe that the time is near when Christ will return. However, in verse 4 we are told that it is an adulterous generation that seeketh after a sign. So, why do I keep on hearing all of this stuff about this, or that being a sign of the times?
-
I don't. I want them to learn on their own level. I just recently listened to a cd called How Modern Churches are Harming Families, by John Thompson, that was given to me by a friend and I disagree with it about 99%.
-
No, take it from one who does have some. I can't get any of the message in when my kid is setting with me. I used to teach a toddlers class in the church our family attended before we moved and I mean it when I say I tought them. I told the parents that too and my preach backed me up on that point, too. The point that I'm trying to make is that they need to be tough on their own level.

I love how you worded that! Presentation; presenting the gospel. That's exactly what I've been saying all along.

The same truth we hear, the children hear! Do they? My four year old won't even sit still during sevices without something to draw on. And yet after sunday school she is always beaming with excitement as she tells me what new thing she as just learnd about Jesus.

I can clearly see that the words "the gopel has changed" didn't settle with alot of christian out there, but I hope that I've made the point clear that our focus should be on the fact that today the gospel does in fact mean the message of salvation from God through our Lord Jesus the Christ.

It's like this: The word cool once meant moderately cold, but today it can also mean, neat, too. It's not a bloody battle on the field today, but rather it is a spiritual one in the world. Bisar is the verb Hebrew which means "to procaim good news". The Isrealits believed that God was actively involved in their lifes including acts of war. Christians use the word today to designate the message and story of God's saving grace through Jesus the Christ.

One thing about writting in my Bible that does concern me is this: I've always said that the word of God is like a taste test. I believe that God's word has one defenant meaning, but sometimes when your blindfolded it could be that the tuna melt your tasting is infact a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich.
