  1. pathetic, im ashamed....Such a good team, with a rediculous amount of talent on their roster, completely going to waste. They can't get any of their offense going. Frank Gore can't run because there is no passing game, and Alex Smith hasn't even thrown for over 150 yards in any game in his career, or more than 1 TD pass in a game. It's pathetic, a first overall pick should be ashamed of himself for performing so poorly. Just what did they see in Alex in College? If he doesnt show some spark of getting better by the end of this year, I'm going to start shouting for a new QB, and so will all the other 49er fans probably. Come on Mike Nolan, don't let such a good team go to waste on him.... :emot-highfive:

  6. Way to go Him Crucified330 you are Worthy's Prophetic Prognosticator for this week. :blink::laugh::huh:

    The standings will not change with respect to Monday's game. Everyone picked the Giants.

    1st Place;

    Him Crucified330 with 11 correct picks.

    2nd Place;

    Butero and George with 8 correct picks.

    3rd Place;

    Axxman with 7 correct picks.

    4th Place;

    Matthitjah and Redefine Me with 6 correct picks each.

    5th Place;

    Ted and Yod with 5 correct picks each.

    On to Week 7. :laugh:

    Thank you, Thank you (hoists crown above head, and places where it undoubtedly deserves upon my dome) :blink:

    I would just like to say that I had 12 correct picks, smashing the closest opposition by 5 games. (lol) Sooner or later I was bound to get some games right. Anyways, I can't wait for week 9 when the Colts finally dethrone the Pats, and prove their #1 ranking in the AFC. (I hate those stinking little cheaters). I refuse to be like everyone else who lives in Arizona per say (cough, cough) and aren't even from New England, but jump on the Patriot band wagon after a few superbowls so they can root for a winning team (because the cardinals stink bad). I will always be faithful to the 49ers, as a Native Californian, until they rise to superbowl greatness once again. :huh: And that is all for my week winning speech. (lol)

  7. HC330,

    Sorry I missed one. :b:

    I did post that I hadn't counted the Monday results as of yet. :laugh: It didn't matter in the standings at all because everyone had picked Dallas to win. it would only have left everyone in the same place or having one more correct pick added to their standings.

    So you now have 8 correct. However it still left you in third place.

    As for your system? :emot-hug: Sounds good to me. :) I've actually had my 8 year old son picking for me. :o He's pretty good don't ya think? :)

    P.S. He told me never to pick the 49'ers. :24::D He said they haven't been any good since Steve Young retired. :P I'm thinking about having 2 year old Joshua pick this coming week. It's funny, he said the same thing about the 49'ers too. :)

    hahaha! well that would have hurt you the first two weeks, because they won those games. they went up against 3 very good teams in a row, so I'm not too worried about them yet. Well thats great to hear your sons are so wise about the 49ers, even though they weren't alive when steve young even played lol. I think right now I'm sitting at 10-1. If The Saints maintain their lead, and the Giants pull an easy victory tomorrow night, I should be 12-1 this week!

  8. Week 6!

    Sunday 10/14/07;

    Minnesota Vikings vs Chicago Bears

    Miami Dolphins vs Cleveland Browns

    Washington Redskins vs Green Bay Packers

    Houston Texans vs Jacksonville Jaguars andre, ahman, and demeco are all out... garrard hasn't thrown any picks, i say jacksonville

    St. Louis Rams vs Baltimore Ravens

    Cincinnati Bengals vs Kansas City Chiefs

    Tenessee Titans vs Tampa Bay Bucaneers

    Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Jets

    Carolina Panthers vs Arizona Cardinals

    Oakland Raiders vs San Diego Chargers

    New England Patriots vs Dallas Cowboys-- but i sure hope im wrong!

    New Orleans Saint's vs Seattle Seahawks --i gotta believe in the saints man, they have to get a win some week!

    Monday 10/15/07;

    New York Giants vs Atlanta Falcons

  9. The word of the day is;

    PARITY! Parity in our prognostications.

    LOL, :emot-wave:

    We have a 5 way tie for second place this week. :emot-wave:

    Everyone picked Dallas for tonight so the positions will not change. You will only add one correct or remain the same. :21:

    1st place;

    Axxman and Butero both with 10 correct picks. :whistling::emot-wave:

    2nd Place;

    George, Matthitjah, Redefine Me, Ted, and Yod all with 9 correct picks. :emot-wave: I want you all to stop copying my picks. :emot-wave::rolleyes::emot-wave:

    3rd Place;

    Him Crucified330 with 6 correct picks.

    excuse me! I had 8 correct picks! are you sure your counting these right every week? My strategy of picking the losing teams to win, however, did not work. I'll go back to my regular strategy this week.

  10. Alright, Now employing my new strategy of picking AGAINST all the favored teams to win, I now make my picks!

    Week 5!

    Sunday 10/07/07;

    Cleveland Browns vs New England Patriots

    Seattle Seahawks vs Pittsburgh Steelers

    Carolina Panthers vs New Orleans Saints

    Detroit Lions vs Washington Redskins

    New York Giants vs New York Jets

    Miami Dolphins vs Houston Texans

    Atlanta Falcons vs Tenessee Titans

    Jacksonville Jaguars vs Kansas City Chiefs

    Arizona Cardinals vs St. Louis Rams

    Tampa Bay Bucaneers vs Indianapolis Colts

    There! Prepare to crown me king of week 5 Matthitjah! :noidea:

  11. Week 4

    Sunday 9/30/07;

    Houston Texans vs Atlanta Falcons

    Baltimore Ravens vs Cleveland Browns

    Oakland Raiders vs Miami Dolphins (aahhh, i love to pick against the Raiders)

    Chicago Bears vs Detroit Lions (if Grossman starts, its a garunteed Detroit victory!)

    New York Jets vs Buffalo Bills

    Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings

    St. Louis Rams vs Dallas Cowboys

    Pittsburgh Steelers vs Arizona Cardinals

    Tampa Bay Bucaneers vs Carolina Panthers

    Seattle Seahawks vs San Francisco 49ers

    Kansas City Chiefs vs San Diego Chargers

    Denver Bronco's vs Indianapolis Colts

    Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants (this is always a good game)

    Monday 10/1/07;

    New England Patriots vs Cincinnati Bengals (man I hate those dirty cheating scumb bag Pats! And I hate having to pick them every week)

    Man Redefine Me...you are either really lucky, or really prophetic! :whistling: You picked against every top ranked team last week, picked every huge upset, and every garunteed loss...I dont know how you did it, but congrats!

  12. Sunday 9/23/07;

    Overall 20-12

    St Louis Rams vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

    Indianapolis Colts vs Houston Texans

    San Francisco 49ers vs Pittsburgh Steelers

    Arizona Cardinals vs Baltimore Ravens

    Minnesota Vikings vs Kansas City Chiefs

    San Diego Chargers vs Green Bay Packers

    Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots

    Detroit Lions vs Philadelphia Eagles

    Miami Dolphins vs New York Jets

    Cleveland Browns vs Oakland Raiders

    Jacksonville Jaguars vs Denver Bronco's

    Cincinnati Bengals vs Seattle Seahawks

    Carolina Panthers vs Atlanta Falcons

    New York Giants vs Washington Redskins

    Dallas Cowboys vs Chicago Bears

    Monday 9/24/07;

    Tennesee Titans vs New Orleans Saints

    How would Chicago over Dallas be an upset? Their both very good teams. An upset would be more like Arizona over Baltimore.

  13. lol, I think most PEOPLE in general are in better shape than baseball players and golfers. High School cheerleading is not a sport in any way shape or form. Competitive cheerleading is of course a sport. Anything where you compete against another team or person in a physical action could be considered a sport. So I say yes, to competitive cheerleading

  14. No team is infallible...including Indy and New England.

    Indy's defense isn't that good. Sure they LOOKED good against N.O. but the reality is that the Saints game plan was awful. They tried to feed the ball to Reggie Bush up the middle too much and Bush doesn't do that. They should have pounded Indy's weak middle line with Deuce until they couldn't breathe. Not to mention the absolutely horrible passes that Brees was throwing. The Saints made Indy look ALOT better than they are.

    New England has a MUCH better defense than New Orleans and they know how to play Indy. New England also has a better offense than they've EVER had. Tom Brady is NOT accustomed to throwing the deep ball. In fact, last week was the first time EVER that Brady has even had a deep threat option. Besides the ONE deep ball Brady threw to Moss (in triple coverage) for a 51 yard TD...Most of Bradys passes were still underneath routes.

    With that said...Indy can certainly beat New England (and vice versa.) The advantage for the Pats is that Indy is largely the same team offensively and they know their strengths and weaknesses. New England is totally revamped with ALOT more talent on offense and defense. Last year the Pats were ONE first down from beating Indy with an average offense. This year is gonna be a barn burner. I also wouldn't say that Peyton is smarter...he's just had more talent around him offensively than Brady. While Brady at times has to MAKE things happen and take risks that Peyton rarely has to worry about. Manning has been put in position to make some pretty bad decisions...especially against the Pats. :thumbsup:

    your absolutely right, neither team is infalliable. I have to disagree with the comment that Indy's D isn't good, they only LOOKED good. They played that way their last 4 games in the playoffs last season as well. They had the #1 Defense in the playoffs, in terms of points allowed, and yards allowed. Including over Chicago and Baltimore. I wouldn't say that New Orleans game plan was horrible at all. The colts D just executed so well that it made them look bad, and any NFL analyst would back me up on that. They shut down Brees' deep passing game, with great coverage. He was 28 for 41 for only 192 yards. Thats a 6.85 yards-per-completion. Its a fact: The Colts secondary cover very well. I dont care how their running the ball, nobody holds the Bush-McAllister two headed monster to only 38 yards on 22 carries. The Colts run defense is very much improved, and they proved it on Thursday night.

    Another interesting fact: Bush had more yards per carry when running the ball inside, than when he ran it outside last season.

  15. I guess I WAS right about the 49ers beating the Cardinals....interesting

    You were right! It seems the 49ers are very slightly better than the Cardinals this season. The Niners have a 1 game lead over the Cards for worst in that division...lol.

    Well, worst in the division, except for the fact that san fran beat seattle twice last year, who were the division champs. I dont know if you were watching the same game as I was, but I saw alot of bad calls. A bogus 15 yard face mask when the Cardinals did not convert on 3rd and 5 on the SF 20 yard line. Otherwise they would not have scored. Another bogus facemask call when SF was in the red zone, that forced them to kick. Had Alex Smith not fumbled when they were in Arizona territory, the score could have very easily been 27-10. It just goes to show you how easily games can turn around in the NFL. In any case, both offenses are much more potent then the way they performed. Frank Gore only had 17 carries. The 9ers were 5-1 when Gore had 25 carries a game.

  16. No one will stop New England this year? Try Indianapolis. Payton did it last year twice with their terrible defense, and this year their Defense is looking outstanding. If they can shut down the NFL's #1 scoring offense from last year, (New Orleans) to NO offensive touchdowns, they can do the same to New England. All New England really has is the passing game, their running game doesn't look all that great so far. Their pass-happy offense leaves them more susceptible to interceptions by BOB SANDERS, Antoine Bethea, and Kelvin Hayden. Those guys are outstanding. I know that New England has a great Defense as well, but Payton is such a smarter QB than Brady, he makes better decisions than Brady, who is accustomed to just throwing deep bombs to Moss and Stallworth all day long. Indie can do it again.

  17. I'm not giving the Rams this win only because of 1 reason. DEFENSE. The Rams have easily one of the most pathetic defenses in the NFL, and the only offense I think they could stop would be the Raiders. Terrible against the run, even worse against the pass. The 49ers D this year however, looks fantastic. 3 Pro bowlers in the secondary, and 2 up front. They completely shut down two of the top wide recievers in the NFL last week, and managed 2 interceptions. Stephen Jackson is not looking good so far this year. I say the 49ers will be able to stop the Rams much better than the Rams will stop the 49ers.

    Score, 24-17 San Fransisco

  18. Indianapolis Colts vs Tennesee Titans

    Green Bay Packers vs New York Giants

    Cincinnati Bengals vs Cleveland Browns

    Houston Texans vs Carolina Panthers

    New Orleans vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

    Buffalo Bills vs Pittsburgh Steelers

    Atlanta Falcons vs Jacksonville Jaguars

    San Francisco 49ers vs St. Louis Rams

    Seattle Seahawks vs Arizona Cardinals

    Minnesota Vikings vs Detroit Lions

    Dallas Cowboys vs Miami Dolphins

    Kansas City Chiefs vs Chicago Bears

    New York Jets vs Baltimore Ravens

    Oakland Raiders vs Denver Bronco's

    San Diego Chargers vs New England Patriots

    Monday 9/17/07;

    Washington Redskins vs Philadelphia Eagles

    that san diego vs new england game is a really tough one, it could go either way. This should be one exciting week

  19. Yea your right I guess, the team with the most superbowl victories in the history of the NFL, who spawned the undoubtedly greatest reciever of all time, with the most division wins, and the 3rd most overall wins of any franchise in the NFL... and the cardinals, with not one superbowl, less than 5 division wins, and easily one of the lowest winning teams in the NFL. Your right, the 49ers will be the 49ers, and the Cardinals will be the Cardinals. :33:

    And if you think the cowboys (as much as I loathe them) are going to lose to the Giants...you've got another thing coming. They are going to be a powerhouse this year, they are totally stacked. The Giants will be lucky to come away with 6 wins this season.

    :24:

    My mistake. I thought we were talking about this year, not 20 years ago. I do see a lot of their highlight reels on shows like "I Love the 80's" and such. :20:

    Just kidding with you, really. They were one of the greatest franchises a while ago. It'll be interesting to see if they can pull themselves out of the shadows of the past this year.

    As for my pick of NYG over Dallas- the Giants probably don't have a chance in Iceland to beat Dallas this week, but picking the 'Girls over anyone just makes my dinner rise to the surface and want to make a forceful exit.

    Me picking them would be like me picking....(shudder)....the Yankees. :thumbsup:

    Same thing, different sport. The only difference between Jerry Jones and George Steinbrenner is about 10 birthdays.

    :20:

    t.

    Yes, I was speaking in terms of the franchise, which is second to no other team in the NFL. What do you mean the shadows of this last season? They went 7-9, thats a 3 game improvement, and alex Smith QB rating went from 45.4 to 79.8, which is the largest improvement of any QB in history. They'll do more than that this next season. And lookie here, I guess I WAS right about the 49ers beating the Cardinals....interesting

  20.
