Jesus wasn't telling the thief he would be in paradise that day, because he told us in Mt 12:40 that he would spend 3 nights in the heart of the earth,so he couldn't have been talking about going to paradise that same day.If you move the coma it reads: And Jesus said unto him, verily I say unto thee today, thou shalt be with me in paradise. So either Jesus was mistaken in Mt 12:40 or everyone else is,who do you believe? When we go to sleep we no nothing, when we awake it as if we have lost no time at all,It will feel like we are instantly with the Lord. Dan 12:2 and many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake ,some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. SDA's are not the only ones that believe the truth of the scriptures, when they say we should keep the Sabbath,or that the dead will be raised on the last day. what are these verses talking about ? This is an OT scripture that is prophesing the future resurrection.Dan 12:2 and many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake ,some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. John 6:40. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:44. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:54. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. John 11:24. Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

The churches have spoon fed people for so long, they refuse to see that maybe these verses are saying something entirely different than what the churches are saying,I have to disagree with what most people think these verses means. Col 2:14. Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (Jesus took all the rules and rituals out of the law) 2:15. And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. (He showed that his blood is all that is needed to concure death,He is more powerful) 2:16. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: ( we should not let people tell us we have to perform these old rites concerning these days, because Jesus fulfilled the ritual cleansing laws,it's not saying that we aren't supposed to keep the days.) Col 2:17. Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. (Jesus was the shadow of these rituals cleansings laws,on all these days, not the days theirselves, people shouldn't be judged by the Pharisees for not practising them) 2:20. Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (the laws of not touching ,tasteing, and handeling was what the people were free from not the days) 2:21. (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 1 Cor 5:7 tells us we should keep these days: . Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 46-5:8. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.(Not the way the Israelites did but in a new way.) Romans 14:1. Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. 14:2. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. (This chapter is talking about certain foods that people thought were unclean or sacrificed to idols ,it had nothing to do with Gods holy days) 14:3. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. 14:4. Who art thou that judgest another man -

You used to hear everyday of another school or court building taking the 10 commandments off their walls, why would this upset so many Christians if these laws have been done away with like so many like to think? They are not taking down the 600 in some ordinances & laws, that were abolished, they are taking down something more important to us, they are taking down God -

Col 3:20. Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. 1 Thes 2:4. But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts. 1 John 3:22. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. -

EX 16: 4Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. 5And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.6And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, At even, then ye shall know that the LORD hath brought you out from the land of Egypt: 12I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God. 13And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. 14And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. 15And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat. 16This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents. 17And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less. 18And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating. 19And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning. 20Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank: and Moses was wroth with them. 21And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating: and when the sun waxed hot, it melted. 22And it came to pass, that on the sixth day they gathered twice as much bread, two omers for one man: and all the rulers of the congregation came and told Moses. 23And he said unto them, This is that which the LORD hath said, To morrow is the rest of the holy sabbath unto the LORD: bake that which ye will bake to day, and seethe that ye will seethe; and that which remaineth over lay up for you to be kept until the morning. 24And they laid it up till the morning, as Moses bade: and it did not stink, neither was there any worm therein. 25And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the LORD: to day ye shall not find it in the field. 26Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none. 27And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for to gather, and they found none. 28And the LORD said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws? and then if you read Ex 19 you'll see they were expected to keep the Sabbath 3 months before the commandments and laws were given ,God has his day of rest which we see here has been around since God blessed & sanctified it, long before the exodus from egypt. Notice what happened to the left over manna on (Saturday), it was rotted and had worms in it, when they went out in vain to gather it. Jesus is our Manna, we are to keep his Sabbath day he is the Lord of it, the Sabbath was made for us..... Not Sunday! -
What day of the week should we go to church on?

What I mean by Sabbath keeping, is keeping it as Jesus taught it, and to me that is by Not working on the Sabbath, because I do need a rest at the end of each busy week,And if I could find a church that went on the Sabbath I would go to worship Him, but I can't, so I read alot of my Bible,I pray alot, I listen to my gospel music. By helping people as Jesus did,I might not be able to heal, like He did on the Sabbath, but I can help them if needed. I don't keep the letter of the law like the Israelites did,I light fires,Jesus doesn't want us to go hungry,or be burdened by the Sabbath. He wants it to be a joy to us. Jesus showed us the meaning of the Sabbath and That was to do good, Not that I don't try to on every other day of the week ,but every other day I'm busy working and cleaning,I don't have time, to think of Jesus all day while I'm busy doing other things. On the Sabbath I think of Jesus ,and what he did for me,and what will please him not because I have too, but because I love to do it. For the same reason I wouldn't go disobey any of the other commandments. When we do something we know is wrong we come under conviction, and repent,at least I do,it's not because I'm afraid I won't go to heaven, but because I feel awful,as we all should. There is no difference in keeping the other nine commandments, don't we obey them because we love the Lord with all our hearts, and that's what he told us to do,or is it because we think by keeping them it will help us get in to heaven? I know for a fact that I am a sinner, and no amount of commandment keeping will save me, but I keep them for the same reason every one else does ,because I love Him,and the only way I will ever make it to heaven is by the blood of Jesus, and the grace of God. -

Thank you Vickilynn, I have a question though, since I'm still kinda new to Sabbath keeping. Do you believe that God wants us to proclaim his truths and tell other people about this, or do we wait until God puts it on their hearts? I kinda believe we should, because they are fooled, but then I read were not supposed to put stumbling blocks in front of our brothers and sisters in Christ, and I don't want to do that. Do you believe this is one of the stumbling blocks God was talking about? -

I'm sorry for budding in,I hope you don't mind. The way I understand it ,is if someone has been convicted that they are breaking one of the 10 commandments, and don't repent and change, then it is sin. If you have been told or you read something in scripture that confirms you are sinning, like for me it was reading Isaiah 56,then after I found out about the Sabbath, if I had just flat out refused to hear it, because of pride,or because I thought I was right and didn't think it mattered to God, without seriously asking Him to show me, then I might be doing it for the wrong reasons. I believe God puts things on our hearts, or people in our path to lead us to His truths, and if we won't listen, it is our pride that blinds us from them. We should all pray like David prayed. Search me, Oh God, and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts, and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. If we refuse, when we are showed, then we are sinning. As for saying for a fact that some will go to hell for not keeping it, I don't think anyone could ever say that because only God knows their reasoning for not keeping it, and He alone knows whether it is because of their pride and just don't want to hear it, or because they really believe it had been fulfilled or abolished or what ever the reason, He knows our every thought. Your sister in Christ, -
