The scientists weren't trying to create a hybrid cow-man or anything with this, I very much agree with that, and was not concerned about that directly. The thing that does give me pause however is the entire idea of combining human and cow genetic material. If this is successful, it could pave the way for more in depth experimentation and mixing, and I wouldn't put it past certain curious minds to try to see how far they can take it. I just think that, when genetics and cloning are involved, there are those who are ready to push things to their limits, while ignoring possible ethical issues that are involved. I beg to differ. I think scientists that are involved with such things ponder the ethics of it way more than you or I do, examining the situation more in depth. They have to live with the consequences of their research. If something bad happens it is on their consciences' not yours or mine. I think you have a skewed picture of scientists as evil, lab coat wearing maniacs rubbing their hands together, while trying to bring about the downfall of humanity. And by simply giving up on all the things science doesn't know at the time and saying, "Goddidit," is a good way to degenerate human knowledge until we're left with nothing but mysticism. That's what primitive cultures used to do. I like to think we've gotten a bit smarter since then. That's what got us into trouble in the first place. It is actually about 4.5 billion years old. And there is a bit more evidence for that than even the existence of someone named Jesus in Israel a couple of thousand years ago. Have you ever seen Jesus? I suspect not. All you have seen is a book cobbled together several hundred years after it was written. There are no extant copies of a first draft. At least parts of it were written for nomadic goat herders. The Bible is more credible than the theory of evolution period. ID says that they had to have formed and functioning correctly all at once. Evolution of separate parts with no final design in mind makes no sense. People who are blind have a problem with one of these parts in that it is not functioning correctly. People who need glasses, have a problem that can be corrected, with one of these parts. So you're saying that light sensitive cells are useless unless they have a cornea an iris, a lens etc?
