  1. Greetings.

    Hope I get an invite too - could certainly do with that cookie after just crashing my pc twice!

    Anyway, if I may be serious now, if you take a look at Isaiah 26:20-21 (NIV and emphasis mine)

    "Go, my people, enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; HIDE yourselves FOR A LITTLE WHILE until His Wrath has passed by.

    See, the Lord is coming out of His dwelling to punish the people of the earth for their sins. The earth will disclose the blood shed upon her; she will conceal her slain no longer.

    rooms = chambers = bridal chambers = mansions in heaven

    The above verses describe the rapture event taking place mid-trib before God's Wrath begins to pour out upon the earth during the last 3 1/2 years of the 70th Week.

    Btw, mid-trib parallels much of the elaborate traditional Jewish betrothal and wedding ceremony wherein there are Jewish elements of it being found or surviving in certain other cultures - in some Arab, European and Asian (rural Chinese, Indian and Malay) traditional engagement and marriage customs.

    Just some tidbits there! God bless.

    THE SWORD OF THE PROPHET:

    The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam

    by Serge Trifkovic

    (Boston: Regina Orthodox Press, 2002)

    Reviewed by Paul Eidelberg

    In her extraordinary work, Islam and Dhimmitude: Where Civilizations Collide, Bat Ye'or avoids discussing Islam per se. She lets Islam's thirteen-century record of plunder, rape, and genocide discredit that religion. One would hardly know of such barbarism reading the doyan of Islamic scholars, Bernard Lewis. Judging from his book What Went Wrong? (2002), nothing is intrinsically wrong with the religion that enthralls 1.2 billion people. And Lewis, unlike John Esposito, is not known as an apologist of Islam.

    Enter Serge Trifkovic, a man of extraordinary intellectual courage. His The Sword of the Prophet departs from the moral "neutrality" of academia and, in six lucid and well-documented chapters, provides a "Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam." Citing the Kuran and the voluminous Hadiths

  3. Below is a someone's posting taken From the IMB Forum:-

    (START)

    Now I would like to share with you all a brief excerpt from a parent whose 21 year old son was injured in a bus bombing attack...It will reveal to you the view of a Jewish person looking on the actions of the world towards Israel...Obviously you will see the greater questions being asked of this parent is Why?...I am sure many many Jewish people also ask themselves the very same questions you will see below...

    Excerpts from an Israeli parent whose 21 year old son was injured in a terrorist attack in which he heroically faced a suicide bomber in order to save lives. Though the bomber detonated his deadly device, this young mans actions saved the lives of many. Today, this young man struggles daily and cannot breathe, eat, or care for himself without constant aid and supervision.

    "It occurs to me, as he (Steve) is given care, that all of us, who have not experienced this horror, go about our daily lives taking for granted the ability to function without impediment. We get up, get dressed, get the children off to school, go to work, go to the movies, play tennis and golf. We take care of our bodily functions and personal hygiene without giving them a second thought. Do we ever stop to think what the survivors and their families have to endure? When we go shopping, do we ever stop to think about how easy it is not to buy a pair of pants or shoes that does not suit our fashion taste? Survivors have to settle for whatever fits.

    I continue to observe the hospital surroundings as I watch both Arab and Israeli's given equal care. This phenomenon stimulates my thoughts once again.

    We spend Shabbat with our grandsons in Modiin. One of the families is a Lieutenant Colonel in the IDF (Israeli Army) stationed in Gaza. My curiosity prompts me to ask some questions. I wonder out loud if Israel felt responsible for giving financial assistance as well as social assistance to the Palestinian people, why did they not build houses for the so called refugees? His answer stuns me. We did. But the terrorist organizations threatened to withhold support if they moved in. Why then I asked did Israel not level the so-called refugee camps? Again his answer stuns me. We did. But they rebuilt them. Finally, why didn't Israel plant trees and grow flowers, which they so beautifully did in their own country? His answer gives me a clearer picture of what may be happening in this tragic part of the world. We did. But they destroyed them. This makes me aware that these people want the pity of the world and are willing to live in any deplorable way they can to demonstrate their plight in spite of Israel's attempts to help.

    I wonder why Israel is responsible for the care and maintenance of a culture that takes from them their productive potential with these horrific acts of terror and refuses any assistance that will improve the living conditions of their children.

    I don't understand a world that seems to think Israel is responsible for giving up land for peace. What happened to all the land that has been taken from Jews living in the many Arab countries surrounding Israel? What happened to the land taken from Jews living in Poland, Germany, Austria, Yugoslavia, France, Spain and many other countries over the course of history?

    I am confused with the double standard that the world places on a country, which is just a speck of sand on the world map. A country that has absorbed unwanted Jews from Ethiopia, Yemen, Egypt, Syria, Russia and all parts of the world.

    I don't understand why all the Arab countries did not welcome their Arab brothers and absorb them into their own Arab culture. Why they restrained them from progressing out of their self inflicted refugee mind set.

    These questions go unanswered as I watch my son struggle for some kind of physical autonomy. We are overwhelmed with the questions that only will be answered with time. Perseverance and prayer seem to be our only options at this time. And so we continue to hope and pray for this nightmare to end and deliver us from despair."

    (END)

    Me: The answer is Satan and all the demonic forces wish for the extermination of Israel and want Islam to be the predominant religion in that part of the world as he does not want Jesus to return to establish His earthly Kingdom. And Islam (= Baal) is actually Satan's last trump card to do just that.

    God bless.

  4. My understanding:-

    Re 2 witnesses

    Revelation 13:5-7 says that the AC will overcome the saints for 42 months or the first 3 1/2 years (called the Great Tribulation) of the last 7 years, and some of them including the 2 witnesses will be killed, and will then be RAPTURED.... in the MIDDLE of the 7 years!

    Re Sodom and Egypt

    Refers to Jerusalem populated by Arab Muslims too. Main religion in Egypt? Islam. Also the future AC is likened to be the last 'Pharoah' to 'enslave' (or persecute) the Jews as during the former Exodus days so that in Revelation the Song of Moses would be sung. Remember that AC would make Jerusalem his Headquarters one day. There's also a hint that the religious background of AC is Islam.

    Then, the intense common greetings especially by Arab men practised in the form of kissing on each others' cheeks could be viewed somewhat 'homosexual' in behavior - Sodom!

    Additionally, the terms Sodom and Egypt could also refer to twin abominations in God's eyes - the sins of homosexuality and allegiance to false god/Baal.

    God bless.

  5. Hi Dad E, you wrote:

    No where in the NT does a gentile become a Jew or even a "spiritual Jew".  Gentiles do NOT replace Jews, nor have to JOIN them to be saved...

    That's true, and the article I posted doesn't assert otherwise too. It's saying to gentiles some may be descended from the 10 lost tribes of Israel. My understanding also about the Jews of Ethopia, India, China, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Central Asia, etc is that they call themselves Israelites and follow certain Jewish customs and Jewish festivals. Personally anyway I'm keeping an open mind.

    God bless.

  6. This is interesting albeit long....From:

    http://www.tnnonline.net/theonews/messiani...x.html#_ftnref6

    In recent years, more and more Messianic believers have come to believe and teach some form of Two-House teaching (or Two-House theology). I wrote one article about this subject two years ago (Gates of Eden 6-3). In this second article I would like to address the question of where our emphasis should be when presenting this teaching. In other words, which aspect of the teaching is really the most important, and what is the best way to communicate that aspect? Before answering that question, let me present some of the major points of the teaching for the benefit of readers who may not be familiar with it. (The following three paragraphs are excerpted from my article that appeared two years ago.)

    To understand Two-House teaching, a person has to be familiar with three significant events in the Old Testament: 1) Israel

    MYTHS AND FACTS ABOUT ISRAEL

    Don't Believe Everything You Hear On The News.

    People are people and therefore inheritantly biased -no matter their occupation.

    The devil hates the Jewish people with a passion. The Jews are the ones who gave mankind the Bible and the Savior, Jesus Christ. It should come as no surprise that nations who are demonically controlled would share in the devil's hatred of Israel. I've listed a number of popular myths about Israel, and I've also provided facts to counter those lies.

    History Itself Reveals The Truth.

    MYTH:

    "The land of Israel is really the land of Palestine."

    FACT:

    The term "Palestine" is believed to be derived from the Philistines, an Aegean people who, in the 12th Century BC, settled along the Mediterranean coastal plain of what is now Israel and the Gaza Strip. In the second century AD, after crushing the last Jewish revolt, the Romans first applied the name Palaestina to Judea (the southern portion of what is now called the West Bank) in an attempt to minimize Jewish identification with the land of Israel. The Arabic word Filastin is derived from Latin. There is no language known as Palestinian. There is no distinct Palestinian culture. There has never been a land known as Palestine governed by Palestinians. Palestinians are Arabs, indistinguishable from Jordanians (another recent invention), Syrians, Lebanese, Iraqis, etc.

    MYTH:

    "The Jews have no historic claim to Israel."

    FACT:

    Only one group of people have continuously lived in Israel for the past 3,700 years - the Jews. Jerusalem, in particular, has had a Jewish majority since the 1840s, 40 years prior to the beginnings of Zionism. Seventy-five percent of the land in east Jerusalem, which the press calls "historically Arab east Jerusalem," has been owned by Jews since 1947. The nations that inhabited the land prior to the Jews are no longer in existence, for they have been absorbed into various other peoples throughout the millennia. The Arabs of Israel only came to the land in 632 with the Muslim invasion.

    MYTH:

    "The creation of the state of Israel in 1948 changed political and border arrangements between independent states that had existed for centuries."

    FACT:

    The boundaries of most Middle East countries were arbitrarily fixed by the Western powers after Turkey was defeated in World War I and the French and British mandates were set up. The areas allotted to Israel under the UN Partition Plan had all been under the control of the Ottomans, who had ruled Palestine from 1517 until 1917. When Turkey was defeated in World War I, the French took over the area now known as Lebanon and Syria. The British assumed control of Palestine and Iraq. In 1926, the borders were redrawn and Lebanon was separated from Syria. Britain installed the Emir Faisal, who had been deposed by the French in Syria, as ruler of the new kingdom of Iraq. In 1922, the British created the emirate of Transjordan, which incorporated all of Palestine east of the Jordan River. This was done so that the Emir Abdullah, whose family had been defeated in tribal warfare in the Arabian peninsula, would have a kingdom to rule. None of the countries that border Israel became independent until this century. Many other Arab nations became independent after Israel.

    MYTH:

    "Israel violates the human rights of the Palestinian Arabs."

    FACT:

    The facts are different. Israel granted full citizenship to all of the Palestinian Arabs who fell within its borders after the War of Independence. Arabic is an official language in Israel. Israel remains to this day one of the few countries in the Middle East where Arabs can legitimately vote--and it is the only one where women can vote.

    MYTH:

    "The West Bank is part of Jordan."

    FACT:

    The West Bank was never legally part of Jordan. Under the UN's 1947 Partition Plan--which the Jews accepted and the Arabs rejected--it was to have been part of an independent Arab state in western Palestine. But the Jordanian army invaded and occupied it during the 1948 war. In 1950, Jordan annexed the West Bank. Only two governments--Great Britain and Pakistan--formally recognized the Jordanian takeover. The rest of the world, including the United States, never did. During the 1950-1967 period of its occupation, Jordan permitted terrorists to launch raids into Israel. Amman lost the West Bank after the Jordanian army entered the 1967 war.

    MYTH:

    "Jerusalem is Islam's third most holy city."

    FACT:

    Muslims try to connect Jerusalem to Islam by using a vague passage in the Koran, the seventeenth Sura, entitled "The Night Journey." It relates that in a dream or a vision, Mohammed was carried by night "from the sacred temple to the temple that is most remote, whose precinct we have blessed, that we might show him our signs. ..." In the seventh century, some Muslims identified the two temples mentioned in this verse as being in Mecca and Jerusalem. And that's as close as Islam's connection with Jerusalem gets--myth, fantasy, wishful thinking. Meanwhile, Jews can trace their roots in Jerusalem back to the days of Abraham.

    MYTH:

    "The Temple Mount has always been a Muslim holy place and Judaism has no connection to the site."

    FACT:

    The area of Solomon's Stables is believed to date as far back as the construction of Solomon's Temple. According to Josephus, it was in existence and was used as a place of refuge by the Jews at the time of the conquest of Jerusalem by Titus in the year 70 A.D. More authoritatively, the Koran--the holy book of Islam--describes Solomon's construction of the First Temple (34:13) and recounts the destruction of the First and Second Temples (17:7). The Jewish connection to the Temple Mount dates back more than 3,000 years and is rooted in tradition and history. When Abraham bound his son, Isaac, upon an altar as a sacrifice to God, he did so atop Mount Moriah, today's Temple Mount.

    MYTH:

    "Under Israeli rule, religious freedom has been curbed in Jerusalem."

    FACT:

    After the 1967 war, Israel abolished all the discriminatory laws promulgated by Jordan and adopted its own tough standard for safeguarding access to religious shrines. "Whoever does anything that is likely to violate the freedom of access of the members of the various religions to the places sacred to them," Israeli law stipulates, "is liable to imprisonment for a term of five years." Israel also entrusted administration of the holy places to their respective religious authorities. Thus, for example, the Muslim Waqf has responsibility for the mosques on the Temple Mount.

    MYTH:

    "The Arab states have had to keep pace with an Israeli-led arms race."

    FACT:

    In most cases, the reverse has been true. Egypt received the Soviet IL-28 bomber in 1955. It was not until 1958 that France provided Israel with a squadron of comparable Sud Vautour twin-jet, tactical bombers. In 1957, Egypt obtained MiG-17 fighter planes. Israel received the comparable Super Mystere in 1959. Egypt had submarines in 1957, Israel in 1959. After the Egyptians obtained the MiG-21, the Israelis ordered the Dassault Mirage III supersonic interceptor and fighter-bomber. Egypt received ground-to-air missiles--the SA-2--two years before Israel obtained HAWK missiles from the United States. Later, Washington reluctantly agreed to sell Israel Patton tanks.

    MYTH:

    "Israel's destruction of Iraqi nuclear facilities was an unjust act."

    FACT:

    Back in June 1981, after the Israelis bombed the plant at Osirak, the UN Security Council unanimously condemned Israel. Washington ostentatiously held up its delivery of armaments to Israel. A decade later, however, the strike looks awfully good. Had Saddam Hussein been armed with nuclear weapons during the war with Iran, much of Tehran would now be obliterated and large sections of Iran annexed to Iraq. More: Iraqi forces might have rolled straight from Kuwait into Saudi Arabia, long before American forces could have arrived. Today, Saddam could already control five oil-rich countries and thereby over half of the world's oil reserves. Economic disaster would be one result; and American troops would have no good place to land.

    MYTH:

    "Israel has been an expansionist state since its creation."

    FACT:

    Israel's boundaries were determined by the United Nations when it adopted the partition resolution in 1947. In a series of defensive wars, Israel captured additional territory. On numerous occasions, Israel has withdrawn from these areas. As part of the 1974 disengagement agreement, Israel returned territories captured in the 1967 and 1973 wars to Syria. Under the terms of the 1979, Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty, Israel withdrew from the Sinai peninsula for the third time. It had already withdrawn from large parts of the desert area it captured in its War of Independence. After capturing the entire Sinai in the 1956 Suez conflict, Israel relinquished the peninsula to Egypt a year later. In September 1983, Israel withdrew from large areas of Lebanon to positions south of the Awali River. In 1985, it completed its withdrawal from Lebanon, except for a narrow security zone just north of the Israeli border. That too was abandoned, unilaterally, in 2000. After signing peace agreements with the Palestinians and a treaty with Jordan, Israel agreed to withdraw from most of the territory in the West Bank captured from Jordan in 1967. A small area was returned to Jordan and the rest was ceded to the Palestinian Authority. The agreement with the Palestinians also involved Israel's withdrawal, in 1994, from most of the Gaza Strip, which had been captured from Egypt in 1973.

    MYTH:

    "Israel is the aggressor in the current conflict."

    FACTS:

    One: The Palestinians are the aggressors; they started the conflict, and they purposely drive it forward with fresh killing on an almost-daily basis.

    Two: The Palestinians regard this second intifada not as a sporadically violent protest movement, but as a war, with the clear strategic aim of forcing a scared and emotionally exhausted Israel to surrender on terms that would threaten Israel's viability.

    Three: As a tactic in this strategy, the Palestinians will not fight Israeli forces directly but instead have concentrated their efforts on murdering Israeli civilians. The greater the number, the more pathetically vulnerable the victims--disco-goers, women and children in a pizza restaurant--the better.

    Four: Israel has acted defensively in this conflict; and while Israeli forces accidentally killed Palestinian civilians, their planned lethal attacks have all been aimed only at Palestinian military and terror-group leaders.

    (End of article)

    I would also like to share this: When once God shall begin the work of Israel's salvation, it shall be carried on with speed and irresistible might.....(All motions, when they come near their centre, are most swift)....."The Israelites, at their return, shall even fly!" (Isaiah 11:14)

    Besides, Jesus is eager in His pursuit.....when once He is near onto the possession of His Kingdom upon earth.....He will do more work, and destroy more adversaries in a few years in the last times than in many years in former days (Isaiah 60:22).

    God bless,

    :a2:

  8. .... I think Michael the Archangel is this prince referred to in Ezekiel 47. Is he not referred to as the great prince of Israel?....

    In Ezekiel 45:22,

    "On that day the prince is to provide a bull as a sin offering for himself and for all the people of the land"

    I doubt if Michael the Archangel (though termed the "great prince") would himself need to offer God a sin offering??

    But do look at Ezekiel 37 vs 24 & 25 and the rest 26 - 27:

    "24. My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees. 25. They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your fathers lived. They and their children and their children's children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever ............."

    Remember about the one third of one half of those Jews who would live through Jacob's Trouble during the last 3 1/2 years of Daniel's 70th Week? They would become the few purified Jews who would go into the Millennium in their physical bodies to repopulate the land of Israel under King David [However, some feel that King David would not be raised to reign from his ancient throne during the Millennium).

    Anyway, could "the prince" refer to King David of old?

    God bless.

    :a2:

  9. May I add further........

    If we let 6 be the base number:-

    JESUS = J(60) + E(30) + S(114) + U(126) + S(114) = 444

    JOSHUA = J(60) + O(90) + S(114) + H(48) + U(126) + A(6) = 444

    MESSIAH = M(78) + E(30) + S(114) + S(114) + I(54) + A(6) + H(48) = 444

    LUCIFER = L(72) + U(126) + C(18) + I(54) + F(36) + E(30) + R(108) = 444

    If we turn 6 around so that we get 9 and let 9 be the base number:-

    i.e. A=9, B=18, C=27, D=36, E=45, G=63, H=72, I=81, J=90 and so on....

    JESUS = J(90) + E(45) + S(171) + U(189) + S(171) = 666

    JOSHUA = J(90) + O(135) + S(171) + H(72) + U(189) + A(9) = 666

    MESSIAH = M(117) + E(45) + S(171) + S(171) + I(81) + A(9) + H(72) = 666

    LUCIFER = L(108) + U(189) + C(27) + I(81) + F(54) + E(45) + R(162) = 666

    Something to wonder 'bout!

    So,

    BEFORE Psalms 118, from Genesis to Psalms 117 = 595 chapters

    AFTER Psalms 118, from Psalms 119 to Revelation

  12. Hi Wordsower

    Yes, that's been stated in the Koran and Hadith with Resurrection and Judgement mentioned as well as traditionally taught/preached. The Prophet had lived in that society that was surrounded by Jews and Christians with their then widespread oral traditions/beliefs/customs which therefore Mohammad had heard/knowledge of, so mixing these truths with lies, half-truths, myths, conjectures and human wisdom/philosophies and doubtless inspired by the devil too because it's been said that he used to go into a trance and even foam in the mouth.

    It's somewhat 'a clash of the titans', religion-wise.

    God bless.

    :taped:

  13. Thanks for sharing that link, J3B  :thumb:

    I'd like to point out something, and what do you think of it....If you read Ezekiel 38 which mentions about the nations attacking Israel, Egypt seems to be missing there?

    And Isaiah 19:18-20 refer to many Jews who will settle in Egypt.  So, Egypt will become a dumping ground for the Jews during Jacob's Trouble, she appearing to be their friend but later turning against them in the last days.

    Looking forward to more posts re the Middle East from you, please.  God bless, love, peace and joy always.
