I agree with you wholeheartedly Steff! And I appreciate your support River. For some reason certain people actually believe that all Christains must support the tyranny of Bush and co., and support an undefined infinte "war of terror" without even defining exactly what "terror" is. Why do you think that Christains should support the horrors and evils of war? And then if we do not fall into the tiny box prepared for us- then we must be gay liberal Democratics who have no business even being in America. (According to the Bush crowd.) I'm sorry but to me this is even less than small mindedness! One of the great things about America is the fact that we are a melting pot- and we do allow freedom- Perhaps one of the most valuable freedoms is FREEDOM OF THOUGHT. From the tone of the majority here at Worthy-Boards I get the impression that, Freedom of thought is not valued very highly. I also get the impression that many feel that free thinking is neither an American nor a Christain value. We may not agree with everyone else- not even with other Christains- but I for one perceive this free thinking and freedom to make our own choices as a very American and patriotic. and like you Steff, I love my country and what it stands for. I am also a Constitutionalist and must say that I am appalled at how the Bush Administration has quickly and blatantly ignored and trampled the Constitution and the Bill of Rights underfoot. And what is up with your response Called??? Blah- blah- blah??? To me this is both immature and counterproductive to an intelligent and inquiring discussion! correct me if I am wrong, but saying blah- blah- blah to someone shows nothing more than arrogant disdain of others points of view.

Incidentally, our country was not under attack by Saddam Hussien- He did not even voice any threat- and Iraq was not at all involved in the events of 9/11!!! Why do you continue to to accept and believe as "fact" the lies of the Bush Administration? It is also a lie that the World community perceived Iraq as a threat. Many large countries had sizable business deals with Iraq. Iraq as a country had already been brought to it's knees, over 1/2 million children died as a result of the sanctions against Iraq during the past 10 years.) just as Afghanistan has been decimated even before the massive bombings upon it's innocent civilian population. Please answer this simple question: Why should many thousands of innocent civilians be killed and maimed because of the sins and crimes of a handful of leaders- many of whom escaped? Please explain how this is Christian- please explain how this is not completely trampling on and ignoring the commandments of Christ Jesus? Do you really believe that the Christian way to stop insane mad-men and senseless killing is to show and even greater level of murderous power using advanced weaponry to kill and maim thousands? (Of coarse when Saddam Hussien was gassing the Kurds he was our friend and we as a country looked the other way. But now that there is oil, $$$ and great power at stake we must go and "save" the Iraqi people? Why not go and "save" the North Korean people? Oh- right no oil!) And all this apocalyptic pseudo Christian arrogance about God's will for Babylon etc...- For God's sake is it any wonder that many unbelievers consider us Christains to be completely psychotic- What a poor and pathetic witness to unbelievers- it's like saying hey it's wrong to kill babies, but it's O.K to randomly bomb women and children in foreign countries - Homosexuality is wrong but pornography and prostitution are O.K.- Enormous stockpiles of all manner of WMD including both nuclear and chemical weapons are necessary to ensure peace and freedom but you other countries don't even think of having any of these kinds of weapons or we will bomb the crap out of you! Now having said this we approach these same peoples and try and convince them to convert to our religion. Do you honestly think that we will have any credibility left- I am asking in all seriousness- if you thought that this kind of double-mindedness and hypocrisy was in any way associated with Christianity- would you really want to convert? Please be honest here- (Keep in mind that I am not a liberal or a Democrat- and that I am a Bible believeing, born again Christain beleiver washed in the blood of the Lamb.)

O.K. so the consensus is that "we" as Americans are justified in a pre-meditated and pre-emptive attack on a sovereign country because the "end justifies the means" (maybe?) and because we arrogantly perceive that we are somehow superior to those whom we disagree with? (Even though the government and country of Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11?) Even though we in America are one of the most immoral countries in the world- with rampant abortion- homosexuality- pornography and prostitution... Yet we are qualified to bomb and kill whenever and whomever we choose because this is God's inevitable plan regardless of our own denial of God's word???? Are you saying that God has somehow elected America to be the divine police of the entire world and to tell others how they are to live and act and do business, even though we have miserably failed to take care of our own people in our own country?? And if they do not obey the demands of almighty America we will cluster bomb them into little pieces. HOW IS THIS EVER THE RIGHT THING TO DO? HOW COULD THIS EVER BE CONSTRUED AS THE ACTS OF RIGHTEOUS CHRISTIANS? (If you really feel this way then you really need some professional psychiatric help!) If you people were not professing Christians I may be able to comprehend your war-like, arrogant "hooAhhh" attitudes... But it appears to me that you have all completely rejected the words of Jesus Christ Almighty: "love one another as I have loved you..." for the words of a self righteous dictator with a messiah complex. It appears to me that you have exchanged the truth of God for a lie! Please wake up! pres. G.W. Bush is the puppet of Satanic rulers who are using him to establish thier plans for a one world government, a one world religion- The very same New World Order which Bush senior announced to the world. During a recent interview G.W. Bush publicly stated that the information about his affiliation with the order of Skull and Bones was too secret to discuss publicly. That really assures me that this man has the best interest of Christian Americans at heart- how does it make you feel? In this day and age if you don't learn to look beneath the surface and read between the lines of the shallow rhetoric being spewed by the corporate run media then you will be unwitting pawns of the anti-Christ, while believing that you are the chosen insturments of God. 'Do not judge according to appearances- but judge the righteous judgement'

What is perhaps most amazing to me is that people who call themselves "Christians" actually support needless and senseless killing of other human beings. Didn't any of you ever read Ex. 20? And what about Jesus' words, "he who is without sin should cast the first stone." First of all anyone who actually believes that Saddam Hussien or Iraq was ever a threat to the great United States of America, you have been utterly brain-washed! All of the might of Saddam and the country of Iraq was far less than even 1 single ant to a mighty dinosaur of the U.S of A. To pretend that they were ever a threat to us is absolutly ludicrous and nonsensical. Second, Iraq never even threatened the United States- they were not a threat in any way- Nor was Iraq any real threat to our allies particularly after the many sanctions imposed upon them. Gee, I wonder why we wnt to Iraq instead of North Korea? (North Korea is a threat and does have WMD!) And finally, since when is a morally bankrupt country who has more WMD than any of the next 5-6 countires put together- and who has not shown restraint in using them against other human beings/ SINCE WHEN ARE WE THE RIGHTEOUS MORAL POLICE OF THE WORLD? Honestly what gives us the right to tell other people what to do and how to live? Unless you believe as Pres. Bush does that Might is Right! It is truly heartbreaking to see believers who have been so decieved as to believe that there is some kind of virtue in massacreing other people- particularly when we make the assumption that somehow "God is on our side". New's flash- America is not a very moral country- Nor are we really a Christain country. And to pretend that we are somehow morally superior or perhaps more civilized than other countries is a supreme arrogance and gross hypocrisy. If we are truly Christains here then we must first repent from our own sins before we go casting stones at other countries... and the same goes for the Bush Administration- they must first come clean on all of the lies and decption of the American people and the world community before they can presume to go and "save" the world from "terrorism". Honestly what is the Bush Admin's definition of "terrorism" anyway?

"I did something for the worst possible reason." admitted the President. "Just because I could." That was Bill Clinton speaking, doing his recent mea culpa about his oval office tryst with Monica Lewinski. To his belated credit, Clinton admits shame about his abuse of power: "I think that's just about the most morally indefensible reason anybody could have for doing anything." Now let us fast foreward to George W. to his credit, W would not think of having sex with a White House intern. But this does not make him an innocent in the abuse of presidential power. What we've now learned from the 9/11 commission and recent books by White House insideres is that George W. launched a war for the worst possible reason: because he could It's clear that there was no geo-political necessity for his attack on Iraq. no threat to our national security, no weapons of mass destruction or ties to Al Queda, no reason to send the American men and women to die- except for the worst reason: BECAUSE HE COULD. He and his gang of neo-con chickenhawks has an idelogical score to settle with Saddam Hussien, and they were out to do it regardless of rationality, right or consequences. Here's a Bush quote from a talk he gave to the National Security Council: "I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being President. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don't feel the like I owe anybody an explaination." He has the power. Might makes right. He can cause the death and gruesone injuries, vast destruction, horror and increased danger to America- just because he can... Which is the most morally indefensible reason anybody could do anything. Clinton abused his presidential power to work out his sexual fantasies with an intern. That's pathetic! Bush however, has abused his presidential power to work out his Saddam 'fantasies' with other peoples lives!!! That my friends is morally bankrupt and beyond contempt!

Pres. Clinton was a small time operator as compared to Pres. Bush. Yes he was unfaithful and yes he lied about it- BUT NO ONE DIED BECAUSE HE LIED! Because of the lies of G.W. Bush many thousands of people have needlessly died! Big difference there. (& no I am not in any way showing support for Clinton!) Check out the new thread which is an article about Presidential Morality- comparing the sins of Bill Clinton with the sins of G.W. Bush. IMO

Pres. Bush may not be the worst Pres. in history but he may well go down in histroy for being the most decptive and insincere! It is shocking to me that so many Christians have been utterly brain washed to the actual facts and horrible relaities leading up to and continuing with the wars of G.W. Bush. Q. How can any sincere bible believeing Christian support needlessly killing untold thousands of people simply to protect and bolster the business interests of a few mega corporations, such as Halliburton? Q. How can any sincere Christians support a President, claiming to be a Christain, who simply cannot tell the truth and has sold out to special interest and secret societies? (& before you pre-judge me- I am neither a liberal nor a democrat!) In His wonderful grace, Amariah
