  1. 4,000 lives of U.S. soldiers have now been lost. That's 4,000 too many. May the Lord wake this sleeping nation before it's too late.
  2. I see willieH is a nonbeliever and a universalist. The two seem to go hand in hand, don't they?
  3. Shiloh, I can only assume that you meant to say that God's hate is not the carnal human hate that we as humans possess. Good post, though.
  4. Wait, are you saying that Paul saw Jesus in physical form? Absolutely. You have my attention!
  5. No. Just the believers. Doesn't Paul say that none are without excuse?
  6. Ovedya, Isn't the law of God written upon the hearts of all men?
  7. Wait, are you making these remarks about me or about the author of the argument I quoted in the OP??
  8. Wait, are you saying that Paul saw Jesus in physical form?
  9. I'd like to see Biblical evidence that some sin is non-volitional. I'd also like to see some evidence that a worker of iniquity is distinct from any other kind of sinner.
  10. But to live as a sinner is to habitually practice sin, is it not? Don't we all work iniquity everytime we sin?
  11. DdavidfromNC, You raise many good questions, this one being of such question. My first question upon reading this verse is this... What/who is a worker of iniquity? What is iniquity? Is it a distinct form of evil? Is it different from sin?
  12. Brothers and sisters of the faith, Below is an argument I recently came across which essentially denies the literal, physical resurrection of our Lord and Saviour. I have included the full text in hopes of hearing how the folks here would go about refuting the argument. In the days before we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, I think it expedient for us to consider and dismantle this damnable heresy which is as dangerous as the Universalist and unitarian heresies.
  13. dDavidfromNC makes a good observation is noting that the terms soul and spirit are oftimes used interchangeably. As with all lexical concerns, context is key. Hbr 4:12 For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. What does this mean?
  14. Judge of God, The spirits in prison are most certainly not departed saints. The text explicity states that they were the disobedient ones who perished in the flood. The question is, why did Jesus preach to them?
  15. Good question, DdavidfromNC. Jesus said that the Kingdom of Heaven is within us. We certainly can hasten or slow the process by which the Kingdom of Heaven is established within us.
  16. Good point. The fact is, though, that God does not send anyone to Hell. We send ourselves to Hell by refusing to worship Him. This does nto mean that God doesn;t love us. It means that the hellbound don't love God.
  17. What? That is not what is meant by the term "Soul Sleep" as used in theological circles. Soul sleep refers to the notion that people cease to exist upon death.
  18. Sheol was being discussed. What I said about soul sleep is entirely relevant to this concern.
  19. Angelique, Let's go back to your OP: Let me give you an analogy. Let's say that my doctor tells me that if I keep smoking, I will die in a matter of few years. I don't agree with him, so I keep smoking. In a few years, I die from it. Does that mean by doctor wasn't being loving in warning me about the consequences of smoking?:
  20. What? A parable is a fictitious story that illustrates spiritual truths. I that what you mean?
  21. Sheol did not cease to exist after Christ's resurrection. Where does the Bible teach this?
  22. Islam strikes again! Oh, how I long for the day when Christ beheads all Muslims with His sword of Truth.
