  1. It seems intolerant to judge all liberals like people have been so far. But then, who listens to me?
  2. Presumably, birds wanted bugs.
  3. Um, if I remember correctly, God created man AND woman in his image. That makes him the balance of the both - he is man and woman and above both. Man and woman create their own balance (yin/yang, if you will) in the image of God. But God can be referred to as She or He because he is both and neither and all, at once.
  4. There's some snickering anarchist support for Bush because he seems to want to bring about the end of the world, which would be good for chaos-lovers. I'm not kidding, actually...it's all in fun, though.
  5. Eeee. Anyway, if you believe that you should ONLY ever marry a Christian, then I would recommend avoiding relationships with "non-believers." As the OP is in quite a love pickle, I wouldn't say end your relationship over this issue, because you obviously felt strongly enough to overlook the faith issue to begin with. Again, that's the vibe I'm getting. If you can't marry a non-Christian, save yourself heartache in the future by avoiding them at all costs. Here...the decision has to be yours, love. I've dated an agnostic, an atheist, and a pseudo-pagan. Whatever.
  6. Oh, I wasn't implying that you should have seen it! Sorry! I was merely too tired to go and get it, so I took the lazy way out and referenced it, in case anyone else is miraculously motivated enough to want to see it. LOL
  7. I posted my opinion on the rapture on "the rapture" board before.
  8. Prince is a musical genius, and an AMAZING guitarist, and absolutely magnetic live. "When Doves Cry??" Come on, that's a great song!
  9. And I like yours. Differences are what make the world so great.
  10. I'm fully cool with the fact that you can love and not be religious or whatever...from my point of view, knowing love is your way to know God. Of course you can disagree, that's the point isn't it? I do value love above all though...well, love and Birkenstocks, it's a tough call...
  11. I put my existence in my faith in God. The Bible is Inspired by God, but not infallible, for it was written necessarily in the words of men. Revelations is basically a metaphor. Whatever the terminology, I can't believe the amount of prejudice some people have toward Catholicism. How would you like it if I called your church a "harlot?"
  12. PS: The Church has been around 2000 years. It's not going to disappear in the blink of an eye.
  13. Love is the highest of emotions. God is Love. We're not going to agree on this, if you haven't noticed.
  14. Forgot Zeppelin, B.B. King, Simon & Garfunkel and Rooney.
  15. Beatles, George Harrison (ROCKS!), Ben Kweller, the Grateful Dead/Garcia & Grisman sessions (check them out!), Widespread Panic, The White Stripes, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Yes, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Clapton, Oasis (pretty good Beatles rip), Hendrix, Santana, Dave Matthews Band, The Clash, The Aquabats, Ravi Shankar, Gaelic Storm and Prince. To name a few.
  16. Um...not so. Atheism isn't genetic. I have many friends in similar situations, and most of them have maintained their faith, many better than others raised in devout Christian households. I still believe over everything in love.
  17. Wow. Rarely have I run into such blind intolerance among Christians. We all believe that Jesus is Lord. We have the same basic beliefs. Why must you insist on calling my religion fraudulous and evil? As far as I can see, it just engenders ever more hatred against fellow God-loving Christians.
  18. That's kind of narrow. God commands us to love.
  19. I was talking about love, not "pleasing our flesh." I believe in the power of love, and don't forget: God is love.
  20. Absolutely. We have to learn to listen to each other more. Which is why I said "as far as we know." But there is a difference between scientific theory and scientific law, FYI. Not that laws can't be wrong, we're just more confident that they're not.
  21. No, I don't believe that Muslims - or non-Christians in general - automatically go to hell. The Catholicism post in Apologetics is heavy with this discussion, it's already been rehashed over and over, trust me.
  22. Cool if you believe the letter of Revelations (personally I believe we should live every day like it's the last)...but why did there have to be such blatant attacks on another Christian Church?
  23. All you need is love. And God IS love. It is entirely possible that you can be in this loving relationship with a non-believer, and that they will become closer to God through your loving relationship. Of course, it is also possible that your partner never converts, so if you enter into a binding relationship you would need to accept that. And you would also have to know that you would raise your kids in your religion. But I don't think that you should seperate yourself from someone you love just because your beliefs aren't the same. It's all in God's plan - you never know what the future holds.
  24. You CAN'T prove that God exists or does not. Hence Agnostics. You can prove that certain theories are, as far as we know, physical truths, laws.
  25. Thanks for pointing out the patriarchal point, no one ever agrees with me on that. Mutual submission makes more sense. I DO believe the Bible is the Word of God - interpreted through the lens of mankind thousands of years ago. I DON'T believe it was dictation, although it is Most Holy and Inspired. We have to recognize that the Bible, the Word, was written in the words of men by men. That's why women are treated not so well in many places: it was the time period. God doesn't discriminate - after all, the Lord has not definite gender, God is above that...people do tend to freak if I say She instead of He though, so I've kept that to a minimum here...usually I use both.
