Christmas...only days away! Let us remember: The reason for the season! C- Christ was given to us This day. Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. The holiday: H- holiday is actually defined as Holy Day. A day to be exempted from work. A vacation. A period of relief and rest. Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Family, friends and strangers to: R- relative's ...we have no choice when it comes to relative's. God has placed us in the families we have. But if at all possible, Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brothers to dwell together in unity. The scents of Christmas: I - incense.. As our homes full with the wonderful smells or incense of Christmas, let us remember: Psalms 141:2 - Let my prayer be set forth before thee [as] incense; [and] the lifting up of my hands [as] the evening sacrifice. Don't be a scrooge: S - scrooge, a miserly being. We all know the story of how one man was changed during his visits with three spirits before Christmas. Of course this isn't true, but perhaps we can have a change of heart as we look to God's word instead of being a scrooge, let's decide to give:Luke 6:38 - Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Enjoy your traditions, memories and cherished times,while making new ones. T - traditions..as we come together this season, perhaps we all have our favorite tradition or perhaps we are looking to start new ones this year, let me encourage you to: Colossians 3:23“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men Expect the impossible, for the God we serve hasn't changed: M - miracles...Christmas is a time to reflect upon the miracles of God. From the moment of conception, God shows us his divine intervention, with the birth of our savior.let us reflex upon this and know miracles are still for today: Jeremiah 32:27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me? Be humble, and consider all who you come in contact with this season. Even just A smile and A merry Christmas can change someone's day: A- angels....they are really among us:Hebrews 13:2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. Amount all the lights, may the son that is in your heart shine the brightest: S- spirit...the spirit of Christmas is joy, giving, love, peace, sharing, caring and goodwill.This season ,as children of God,let us walk in the holy spirit to produce all of the reflections of Christ in our lives. Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
