We've had rain nearly everyday this week, and alot of it. Thursday when I was coming home from NY on I-90, it was raining so hard, even with the windshield wipers going as fast as they could go, I could hardly see anything...it was very scary driving! I wanted to pull off the highway but was afraid that those behind me wouldn't see me and would plow into me. And it lasted for at least 10 minutes.
It really made me think of the parable Jesus told about the WISE MAN building his house on ROCK and the FOOLISH MAN building his house on the SAND. ROCK is on HIGH GROUND and SAND is on LOW GROUND.
I believe that "building our house" symbolizes building our characters... Our characters are the only thing we will be taking to Heaven...(these old, dilapidated bodies, God will give us NEW BODIES at the resurrection, THANK the LORD!)... It is so important that we look at the BIG PICTURE and realize that when the STORMS COME (the trials of life), and they will come to all of us, that if with God's help, we have built a character on THE ROCK, we have nothing to fear! But if our character is built on THE SAND, we can count on succumbing to the temptations and trials of life and making SHIPWRECK of this life.
As Christians, we should walk THE NARROW PATH that leads UP and not the EASY PATH that leads DOWN, in all aspects of life.
A Blessed and Happy Sabbath to all my Sabbath-Keeping friends around the world! We are ONE WEEK CLOSER to Jesus' return!
