Don't you notice how people who have tattoos of Jesus or of Christian imagery and those who wear necklaces of the cross/crucifix are usually the most lukewarm Christians that exist. I know a man who has Jesus' image tattooed on his arm but he has engaged in fornication and has an illegitimate child with my cousin and sees nothing sinful about his life style. And I know even more people who wear cross/crucifix necklaces but have called me a crazy nutjob religious freak/zealot simply because I take my faith seriously. It's not that their committing heresy or heterodoxy(Though I believe personally that tattoos are sinful, but I'm not here to discuss that), it's that they legitimately don't care. There are exceptions, with Christians who may have a christian tattoo or wear a cross necklace who actually give a darn about the faith(Like Matt Walsh - though he has said he wouldn't have gotten tattoos looking back), but these are a minority, the vast majority of people who write Jesus on their skin and wear him around their necks are lukewarm - and the bible certainly has something to say about these people: 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 "For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond to their deeds. " Matthew 7:21-23 "“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’" Titus 1:16 "They profess to know God, but they deny him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, unfit for any good work. " 2 Timothy 3:5 "Having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. " James 1:26 "If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless. " Matthew 15:7-9 "You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said: “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’” " Matthew: 6:2-4: "“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." For this reason you will never find any kind of tattoo - even one of Jesus - on my skin(Though I also believe tattoos are ugly and sinful - but I I didn't post this to discuss the sinfulness of tattoos - and quite frankly I don't wish to discuss it right now). And for this reason I don't wear necklaces - even those of the cross(though also because I find necklaces uncomfortable)

Maybe I'm a little confused on this one, but I remember that there are multiple times in Gods word where Paul, I think Timothy, even James, said ALL is vanity. And that definitely shows up in the Old Testament. But I also remember Ecclesiastes 2:24 says, "There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God." In this day and age, I am curious. I know if I work hard I can attain things and take joy in those things, but if all is vanity, and yet I take part in them, yet I worked for them, I'm not sinning against God am I? I know that anything you put before God is idolatry and sinful. But in this case, is all really vanity? I know that every good thing comes from above. I'm just wanting to clarify this one.
