God commands us to love. To love all but to marry within the faith... Because if you marry a unbeliever then your kids have a good chance they will be unbelievers. Atheism isn't genetic. I have many friends in similar situations, and most of them have maintained their faith, many better than others raised in devout Christian households. You need not accept it if you dislike it. DISCLAIMER: I am not a christian. I agree with you that love is the highest emotion, and makes life wonderful. I'm not sure that I would define God as love. For I know what love is, and I don't know what God is. I also think that there are some who value love less than we do. And, that is OK with me. Of course you can disagree, that's the point isn't it? I do value love above all though...well, love and Birkenstocks, it's a tough call...
