As I said before, any form of art, secular or christian, that depicts the image of God is wrong.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

So I guess we ought to burn every Bible and Middle Age manuscript that was a depicition of Jesu or God in it? And just about every Church as well?

And you STILL haven't explained what you meant to imply by this....

All your christian artwork?

There are better ways to accept defeat.

But I guess if you're a maker of idols, what else can you do but try and laugh it off.

If you would like scripture to back this up, I will do that for you.

As for worshiping them, I'm not even going down that road. I've made my stance on idols known, so it's only fair to assume... :noidea:

I'm not bad mouthing artists, just some of there creations.

Hi Nite owl,

I respect your position. I don't totally agree with it, but I can see where you are going with it. The key would be consistency. Thus where we worship within your definition should have no stain glass windows which depict Christ as a child or as a man or on the cross, etc, that would include using the baby Jesus in any sort of Christmas display's. Children's bibles should not include any pictures of Jesus, etc.

Now I think there are some Churches, which do this and if that is how you worship than I cannot fault you.

But I think just picking out the type of Christian art I don't like, say statues, and condemning that as idolatry, while I keep my children's bibles with pictures of Jesus is being inconsistent.

For me it comes down to idolatry and idolatry is something that is within us, not without.

Anything that depicts the image of God, goes against scripture.

Duet. 4:15-16 Take careful heed to yourselves, for you saw no form when the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire. lest you act corruptly and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female.

There are many others.

God doesn't just want us to not whorship idols, He said we were not to have them at all.

Any image that is recogized as God is wrong.

Stained glass windows, childrens bibles, Christ on the cross, anything that depicts the image of God is idolatry.

Look at Titus 1:16

Galatians 5:19

1 Corin. 10:14

1 John 5:21

I could go on but you know they're there. There are no teachings that say anything good about idols.

Can you realisticly defend these images of God? Can you show me your reasons for going against Gods Word and where God is ok with this practice.

Idolatry is idolatry, within and without. If you question my beliefs, go to the source.

God does not lie.
