Rather than being rewarded for their hard work, and able to enjoy the fruits of that, they are ousted. The opposing teams "don't want their self esteem battered". And it's happening more and more. I'd like to tell the lady who fears for her child's self esteem that he's going to have a hard row to hoe in life. She's doing him no favors.
