No problem. We have been going at it pretty hot and heavy so perhaps it would be best if we slowed down a bit or take a small break.

My best,

Art

I think I will make only a few more posts in the debate as I make a final attempt to demonstrate the resurrection from the dead at Christ

I notice that I have not spoken to your post (#9) 2nd Corinthians 5:8.

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Before dealing with chapter 5, verses 6 through 8, let's look at some verses in the entire book of II Corinthians.

2Co 1:8-10 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

Paul speaks of being brought through great trouble while he was in Asia. But notice what he says about the hope he has of his future deliverance: God, who raises the dead, he trusts to deliver him. How? Of course, in the resurrection on the last day. He expects to be delivered by the resurrection.

2Co 1:13-14 For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end;

As also ye have acknowledged us in part, that we are your rejoicing, even as ye also are ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Paul will rejoice with and over the Corinthians

2 Corinthians 5:1-3, the LITV translation

2Co 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle is taken down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in Heaven.

2Co 5:2 For also in this we groan, greatly desiring to be clothed with our dwelling place out of Heaven,

2Co 5:3 if indeed in being clothed, we shall not be found naked.
