All flesh is as grass and the glory of it as the flowers of the field.

This world and the fashion of it, even the glory of this world is soon to pass away.

Those who are of this world seek to adorn themselves in their own outward beauty, and clothe themselves with their own glory of wealth and riches. But the Lord shows us by similitudes that the people who are of the flesh, and those who live to the lusts of the flesh, are also the ones who glory in materialism and the riches of this world.

The Lord shows us these peoples are “like grass,” and their riches are like “the flower”that clothes the fields of grass.

These being like fields of grass clothed with the glory of this world shall pass away, when the Lord blows upon the fashion and glory of this world with scorching heat.

It is written..

Psalm 37 “Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down “like the grass,” and wither “as the green herb.”

Psalm 90:5-6 “Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are “like grass”which groweth up.6 In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it is cut down, and withereth.”

Psalm 129:6 “Let them be “as the grass”upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:”

Isaiah 27:11 “When the boughs thereof are withered, they shall be broken off: the women come, and set them on fire: for it is a people of no understanding: therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he that formed them will shew them no favour.”

Isaiah 40:7 “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely “the people is grass.”

Isaiah 40:8 “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”

Isaiah 40:24 “Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.”

Matthew 13:5-6 “Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.”

John 15:6 “If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.”

James 1:11 “For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.”

1 Peter 1:24 “For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:”

Luke 23:30-31 “Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.
31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?

Revelation 6:16 “And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:”

Ezekiel 20:47 “And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.”

Those who have ears to hear, let them hear what the Spirit is saying….

Revelation 8:7 “The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.”

Revelation 9:4 “And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only “those men”which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.”

Revelation 16:8-9 “ And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to “scorch men”with fire.9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.”

Ezekiel 17:24 “And all the trees of the field shall know that I the Lord have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the Lord have spoken and have done it.”

Isaiah 2:17 “And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.”

Isaiah 40:4 “Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low:…….

Isaiah 40:6-8 “The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely “the people is grass.” 8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”

Clothe yourself in the beauty of holiness, and adorn yourself with the Sun of Righteousness and in the glory of the Lord; which shall never fade away.

And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.”

Peace and God bless

Notice how Jesus mentioned Solomon in all his glory (wealth) compared to the flowers of the field, when speaking of “clothing” in Matthew 6:24-34

24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?

27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:

29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?

31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”
