(Worthy News) – “We are in a multi-front war – Lebanon, Syria, Judea and Samaria [West Bank] and Gaza and threats even further way,” stated Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi during a security threat assessment detailing the security challenges for Israel during the month of Ramadan.

Halevi, in a briefing with Border Police officers in Judea and Samaria on Friday cited Hamas’s efforts to fuel unrest in the West Bank and Jerusalem. The meeting also detailed that since the beginning of Ramadan there have been multiple attempted terror attacks on a daily basis.

“This month, we are on higher alert. Really stay very vigilant, very cautious, with top-notch security,” Halevi stated in a video published by the IDF on Saturday. “We are in a multi-front war – Lebanon, Syria, Judea and Samaria [West Bank] and Gaza and threats even further way.”

“Everyone, every soldier… has responsibility for all the arenas, because every incident that happens in one of the arenas really affects and can cause [developments] in other areas as well,” Halevi added.

The month of Ramadan, a month of fasting and spiritual dedication for Muslims, has traditionally been marked by a rise in regional tensions.

Over the past few weeks, various terrorist organizations have been calling for Ramadan to be a “month of terror” calling for the “continuation of the Battle of al-Aqsa”, referring the mosque located on the Temple Mount.
