John 3:16 is quite clear on this. For the former, discretion is the better part of valor by far. There must be a million better ways to announce new life in Christ Jesus & Phelps evidently hasn't found them yet. For the latter, discernment of Holy Writ & the Creator's words in Matthew 19 re the order of created humanness. Homosexuality doesn't "cut the cake." I watch H & C too. FOX NEWS isn't that great. They are biased towards their corporate sponsors just like CNN. CBN probably isn't biased because they have no sponsors. They are the shame of this city and this state. Old Fred raised his kids up to be a bunch of lawyers, crusaders and hate mongers. I remember exactly when he began to take over the town. It was 15 years ago around the time of the Gulf war. My daughter was seven (she's 22 now) and we had to drive right by him and his signs of hate on her way to dance class. She could read the words. It was horrible as a parent to try and explain at all what he was up to and talking about. He seemed to start out targeting homosexuals. It's since spread like a cancer and there is no rhyme or reason to the funerals he pickets (at least here locally) and he went nationwide several years ago. He can quote every iota of the free speech laws. All of the state agencies get their fax machines spammed by him every day. He sends during the night and they are there in the morning. The neatest thing the town ever collectively did was right after the 911 attack. He was going hot and heavy about how those folks deserved to die. A huge crowd amassed on the other side of the street carrying signs "Not this time Fred". The show of support from the town was overwhelming. There is now a very dedicated group of motorcyclist who will attend funerals when asked (particularly those of fallen soldiers) and ring the the area in protection. Not violent protection. A show of solidity that keeps them and their hate away from the grieving family. I haven't spoken with anyone over all this time who doesn't consider him and his followers a cult. I fear the brainwashing of the children, who are now adults having children, has run very deep. If any one group of people every needed the world's prayer for salvation, it's these folks. The people of America are simply getting a taste of what Kansas has had to deal with for years.
