Perhaps I simply fail to see any significance of the story. Iran has always had some pretty impressive athletes. I always count it as a tragedy when politics gets in the way, or becomes an issue, concerning sports. Remember the Olympic boycotts between the US and Russia years ago? I felt that the athletes were the only ones who suffered through that stuff. I just wish that nations could put aside their differences long enough to get through sporting events, and not use the results as a means of political gain. t. Iran has wonderful people, and it's truly a great country rich in history, recent events not withstanding. I have met several Iranians, and can say that they were wonderful people. It's too bad that world affairs get in the way of human contact. I wish our governments could find a peaceful solution to their current conflicts so that we can live in peace with them once again. May God break down the walls placed by man, and bring our peoples together. t.

I wish america could overthrow them not by war but how they did it when Iran was democratic in the 50s, putting the shah in power to get cheaper oil. I feel like the governments should have nothing to do with the way one country feels about another. But thats a dream on its own. I have close friends that Palistinian, and they are wonderful.
