But what's "Good" about it? They crucified my Lord after scourging Him with a cat-o-nine & mocking Him with a Roman Legionnaire's scarlet robe. He bore their ironic taunt and spitting, most grievous insults. The crown they gave Him brot a huge flow of blood because head wounds bleed most freely. Palestinian thorn-bushes are not tooth-picks, but long sharp spikes. Jesus my Matchless Lord & savior suffered all five flesh wounds known to medical science: (1. a contusion); (2. a laceration); (3. a pentration); (4. a perforation); and (5. an incision). It was a COMPLETE wounding for me! Then they gambled for His garments, "making four parts," so quite evidently FOUR Roman executioners crucified Him. GAMBLERS AT GOLGOTHA YET! What is my personal response on this Really Good Friday? I echo the Apostle's exclamation in 1 Corinthians 1:18 NLT: "I know very well how foolish the message of the cross sounds to those who are on the road to destruction. But we who are saved recognize this message AS THE VERY POWER OF GOD!" Thank You, Lord Jesus, for dying as my sinless Substitute & paying the price I, a sinful man, could never have paid! Yes, it's Good Friday alright, but................................................ ................................SUNDAY'S COMING! Praise You, Jesus!
