It's a habit many people can't seem to quit easily. People behave badly when they're drunk. That's why the Bible tells us not to get drunk. Don't hate your dad for this, he needs help. We're are commanded to "honor our mothers and our fathers". Calling him a "chicken" because you and your mom are scaring him into thinking the police are coming is just sad. He's already a prisoner and he's suffering. You may not see it but that's because people put on a tough outer shell when they've been in pain for a long time. Try to be more patient with him and try not to team up against him with your mom so much. He may "deserve it" but that doesn't make it the right thing to do. Ephesians 4:32 32)And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Guest busymomma
one thing that i have learned from being in a heartbreaking situation is that we become so close to the Lord and He becomes such a refuge from the storm later on you will look back and marvel at how He was so near holding your hand. I will pray for you.
