The Sword of WarLord Muhammad & his serried compatriots are the most fatal enemies of civilization, liberty & truth which the world has known. From its very 7th-century inception - with its battles on the Arabian Peninsula to its massacres in India, which are unparalleled in history, some say bigger in sheer numbers than the Holocaust....and the massacre of Armenians by the Turks....the Ottoman Empire meant living in daily fear of murder, rape, torture, kidnap of one's children, slavery, genocide - Islam's 13-century record portrays a philosophy of rebellion, reprisal & that still bloody Sword of Muhammad. Mass-homicide bombings & Improvised Explosive Devices say more about Islam than one could ever hope to imagine! Religion of peace indeed!

Nevermind the fact that, during the Christian Dark Ages, Muslim Civilization was thriving. It was the Muslims who preserved the work of the Greeks, such as Aristotle, Socrates, etc. Without the Muslim preservation of these texts, and the subsequent introduction of these Greek texts through Muslim-controlled Spain to Europe that Europe was able to pull itself out of the slump it had found itself in after the fall of the Roman Empire. It is only since the modern age that the Muslim world would be considered what we would call "backwards"

It seems apparent to me that you are not familiar with the History of Muslim thought and philosophy. Fun fact: Muslims created algebra (from Arabic al-Jabr)

WillingtoDie, not really an argument here, just maybe some clarification, they didn't create algebra, they built on the works done in China and India, and finessed the equations by which algebra is written and carried it into other countries. Not trying to take anything away from them on that, because your post above is true. Great works would have been lost had it not been for them preserving and spreading the knowledge they had.

Okay, fair enough.

Fresno Joe, love your posts, the greatest truth comes from the Word.

To answer some of your questions about muhammed and his life.

1. He did come after Christ's Ascension, about 400 years afterward, when Christianity was exploding. The coincidence of Islam being created and the growing Christian influence around the world, is enough to make any Christian ponder how much satanic influence was involved in the creation of Islam. Islam is one of the youngest religions in the world. Well besides scientology, but who takes that seriously? Wicca and voodoo and other types are really just a reacreation and rehashing of paganism.

2. Muhamed was illiterate, so whatever was written in the Koran, didn't come from his hand. Most of the Koran was written long after his death and was passed down by word of mouth for centuries, they believed it was some form of idolatry to write his words down, so who knows how accurate the Koran is.

3. Muslims believe it is impossible for God to come to Earth and die as a man, then resurrect hisself and return to Heaven. They believe that Christ had a twin or an imposter go to the cross for Him, then He disappeared into history. Now, basically the muslims are saying that God is too powerful to incarnate Hisself and die as man, talk about a contradiction. Is He Omnipotent or is He not? Secondly, to say that Christ was an imposter is to say that Christ was a liar. If Christ were a liar, he couldn't be a Prophet, or a Priest, or a worthy sacrifice for man.

4. Muhammed the prophet. Prophets were given the power of divination and could see the future, most of them didn't understand what they saw, but they described it with the limited vocabulary they had. You do realize that muhamed married an 8 year old girl and she hated him and later poisoned his food and he died from that. A prophet would have known how his life was going to end, muhammed didn't foresee this.

More later.

What planet are Muslim apologists from? Polygamist WarLord Muhammad of Yathrib & his Religion of the Sword have underscored violence & destruction from its very 7th-century inception. He started fighting in Medina & Mecca and his compatriots are still at it in every Muslim-dominated country & entity today including Northern Nigeria, Somalia, Sudan, Iran, Jolo, Mindanao, et al. Why be cute about it?

Islam not only condones violence but commands it against "infidels": Sura 9:5; 8:59; 5:33 for starters. Take a moment to peruse Robert Spencer's "The Truth About Muhammad," wherein he describes the bloody life & violent teachings of the founder of Islam who continually preached violence, ordered the assassinations of his enemies, and used his "divine revelations" for personal self-aggrandizement.

The fact is that Muhammad's religiously-driven law of conquest swept Islamic armies into Syria, Israel, Mesopotamia, Egypt, North Africa and Spain. Mercifully the advance was stopped by Charles Martel, grandfather of Charlemagne outside Paris in AD 732. Later, Muslim hordes encompassed Europe. moving as far west as Austria before being defeated in the late 17th-century. There's a well-known law in science called Occam's Razor. It stipulates that the simplest reasonable explanation of something is likely the correct one. Apply it here especially when everything known about the Religion of the Sword is borne out by its book, its hadiths & its continuing actions. Extinctus amabitur idem.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I am far from a Muslim apologist, although I'm sure labeling me as one sure makes your position easier. There's no doubt that Islam spread predominantly through conquest. However, to be fair, Christianity more or less spread through force as well (via it becoming the official religion of the Empire, not quite the same, but you get my point).

My point still stands that Islam is not all about Violence, as Islam had some of history's greatest thinkers, and our Western Civilization owes Medieval Islam a great deal of debt. I'm ssure your book didn't talk about that, too much.

...Islam had some of history's greatest thinkers, and our Western Civilization owes Medieval Islam a great deal of debt....

What happened to them, anyway?

How'd they go from advanced to - well - backwards?

Honestly, I'm not sure. My suspicion is that it had something to do with the onset of Modernity. For whatever reason the Ottomans didn't seem to be able to keep up with the Europeans. I think part of it may have to do with how the former Ottoman empire was divided up after WWI, I certainly blame that for most of the political turmoil in the Middle East.

Of course, this is all conjecture. I think I asked my Islam professor this question once, and I don't remember what his response was. However, if you're really interested, there are a few people I could ask for you
