Guest shiloh357 Posted February 2, 2009 Share Posted February 2, 2009 Humanitarian Effort - Humanitarian Aid to the Gaza Strip Weekly and Accumulative figures 25-30 January 2009 (Communicated by the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Spokesman) 1st February, 2009 Stability of the crossing activities were disrupted this week due to resumption rocket and mortar fire against Israel. Also, a lethal attack against an IDF patrol near Kissufim crossing caused serious disruption of crossing operations. Despite this, throughout the week, 19,767 tons of humanitarian aid, food commodities, medical supplies and medication were transferred to the Gaza Strip via Kerem Shalom cargo terminal and the Karni conveyor belt. 267 tons of gas for domestic needs was pumped this week via Nahal Oz fuel depot. 28 Medical evacuations from Gaza to Israel took place (including escorts), via Erez crossing. Israel coordinated the access of a Jordanian military field hospital to the Gaza Strip. 47,427 tons of humanitarian aid has been delivered to Gaza since the unilateral cease fire. Also, 3,017,900 liters of heavy duty diesel were transferred to Gaza for the power station, and 1053 tons of gas for domestic uses were pumped via the fuel Depot at Nahal Oz. International Aid & Donations A total of 335 trucks laden with international aid and donations were shipped this week to Gaza. Since the beginning of the cease fire 788 trucks of international aid and donations have been transferred to Gaza. Kerem Shalom & Karni accumulative summary Throughout the week a total of 19,767 tons of aid were transferred to the Gaza Strip, including International aid, donations, food supplies, medical supplies, medication, hypochloride, dairy and meat products, various types of grain, vaccines and fodder for livestock. Karni conveyor belt facilitated movement of 10,279 tons of grain.
