Luke 19:12,13 - "He said therefore, 'A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return. Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Engage in business until I come.’"

These servants represent the followers of Jesus. However, being a follower of Jesus is more than simply not rejecting Him. It is an active commitment to serve Him.

One servant did nothing with what his lord had given him. In nearly every parable of the Kingdom which Jesus taught, growth or increase is expected. This servant is a believer who never grows or brings increase to God's Kingdom. What he was missing was faithfulness.

Those who are faithful with what God has given them will be given more, and those who are wasteful will have what God has given them taken away and given to another.
