Revelation. VISION 4. CHRIST THE JUDGE. Final Judgments.

Final Judgments

Here we are shown the most awe-inspiring vision of earth and sky being `rolled up.`

`Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it,

from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away.

And there was found no place for them.`

                                                                                                               (Rev. 20: 11)

Then we see the Lord Jesus Christ enthroned in Judicial Authority. This is the final great judgment where every person will be resurrected to appear before Him. Wealth, nobility, fame or earthly honours will be immaterial.

`And I saw the dead, small & great, standing before God, & books were opened.

And another book was opened, which is the book of life.

And the dead were judged according to their works,

by the things which were written in the books.

The sea gave up the dead, who were in it,

and death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them.

And they were judged, each one according to his works.`

                                                                                                                   (Rev. 20: 12 & 13)

These books contain meticulous, accurate and complete records of every individual.

The `Book of Life,` the only one designated, is the one of supreme importance. Herein are recorded the only exemptions from this judgment. This is the register of the `Church, the Body of Christ,` already redeemed and enthroned in Heaven.

The names of the remaining books are not mentioned; nor need we speculate. However, what is certain, is that all who have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ as personal saviour will be relegated to join Satan in the `Fiery Lake of Eternal Punishment.`

Whoever will be recorded as having never actually heard the Gospel: but, by their works have acknowledged and worshipped God, by virtue of the wonders of His Creation; they will be granted eternal life upon the earth.

`Then death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire.

                                                                 This is the second death.

And anyone not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.`

                                                                                                                                       (Rev. 20: 14 & 15)

just lately i have been thinking about why there is so much spiritual darkness and i got to thinking about the dark ages when the roman catholic church banished the bible and only priests could read it and it was in latin.  anyone caught with a bible was put to death i think...and what was once a connection to the true message was lost in those ensuing centuries...never to really come back ....for instance people dont seem to know how important the Epistles are for our salvation and Eternal life . its taken me lots of bible reading to discover this myself. they knit in with the 4 Gospels

but we live in a time when the bible it seems is not enough and we 'need' all these other things

Yes, some very good points there mabel.

The Apostle Paul did give his disciples the whole counsel (truth) of God, but then warned them that savage wolves and men speaking perverse things would come in and draw disciples after themselves. However we know that Jesus, when He ascended sent His Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth. And that is what has been happening over the centuries and across the world.

Today we are most privileged to have most of the truths clarified by the Holy Spirit. Yes there are plenty of false teachers etc who are misleading people. However as you have so rightly said - `lots of Bible reading to discover...` I commend you for being so diligent and doing the work of reading God`s word and seeking the truth.

I am (yes again) preparing another series in my blog for when I finish the book of revelation. And BTW it is so pleasing and encouraging to see so many people reading along with us, mabel. And I`m sure they do appreciate all your questions and input which they have been thinking also.

Here is the title of the next series - The Final Battle becoming Overcomers.

How does the Body of Christ Mature.

The Apostle Paul gave the early disciples the whole counsel of God. They were taught the full revelation of Christ, His character and His purposes.

`For I (Paul) have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.` (Acts 20: 27)

Here is a summary of the main truths, then the errors that came in and finally the restoring of those truths through the centuries.

1.     Ministry gifts (Eph. 4: 11) - Bishops were substituted. (AD 110)

2.     Holy Spirit infilling and gifts - Formalisation of worship. (3rd C)

3.     Holiness - Amalgamation of Church and State. (AD 323)

4.     Baptism for believers - Infant Sprinkling. (6th C)

5.     Justification by Faith - Penance Indulgence. (AD 1063 / Dark Ages)

6.     Reformation, Lutheran - Justification by Faith. (1517)

7.     Baptist - Full Immersion. (1608)

8.     Methodist - Holiness. (1738)

9.     Pentecostal - Indwelling of the Holy Spirit. (1906)

10.   Apostolic - Christ`s ministries (Eph. 4: 11) (1916) & the Eternal Purposes.

Christ`s ministries, (apostle, prophet, teacher, pastor, evangelist) develop the believers and the whole Body into spiritual maturity and understanding. They stimulate the perfecting of the `Christ life` and promote the function and ministry of each member in the Body.

When Christ ascended `He gave some (people) to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the Body of Christ,

Till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ......may grow up in all things into Him who is the head - Christ.` (Eph. 4: 11 - 15)
