God`s Word: The Great Company. (CSTO)

Russia`s `army,.....a great company......many people are with you. (Ez. 38: 4 & 6)

This `great company,` `many people` with the Russian army are the some of the former Soviet nations. They have come together to form an Alliance -

 

The Collective Security Treaty Organisation, (CSTO).

 This is a Russian-led alliance with Belarus, Tajikistan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

According to the Treaty if one member is subject to aggression by an external force, it is considered as aggression against all member states. Members of the alliance provide the `aggressed` country with military assistance and defence.

Recently, in January 2022 the President of Kazakhstan called for the Russian-led military alliance to help stop the unrest of protesters, that he called `terrorists.`  This is the first time the CSTO alliance has been deployed. And it wont be the last time.

Russia and the CSTO alliance are preparing.....

Yes Turkey is still in NATO.

Which shall be interesting as NATO also has an article in its constitution about if one member is attacked then all the other NATO members are legally obliged to provide military assistance to that threatened member.

Hence Russia's concerns for security over the intention for Ukraine to gain NATO membership.

yes mabel, we can clearly see the boundaries. Apparently after WW 2 and later when the Berlin war came down, then NATO told Russia that they wouldn`t move further East. Many years later and what do we see? Why NATO has gone over a 1,000 miles and right on the Russian border. So where can Russia go? Further back? And the Ukraine is like its wheat belt. 

having said that doesn`t make either side `right` but shows that Russia does have some concerns. I think there is a lot of saber rattling and Putin is enjoying the International lime light.

And hi Waggle, thanks for joining in. And the CSTO (Russia side) also has the same article if one member is attacked then the others provide assistance as we saw recently in Kaz....

so with that being stated regarding both, NATO the CSTO wouldn't that put Turkey in a precarious position? wouldnt Turkey need to come out of NATO if they are looking more towards the CSTO?

Yes Turkey is like the `meat in the sandwich.` 

Turkey and Iran and Russia, (pals?) are working together in Syria to get rid of ISIS. However with Russia it is always more power and land etc, while with Iran it is to get rid of the Sunni aspect of Islam, and for Turkey they have always wanted to lead Islam. So each have their own motive but join to try and gain something.  

And I see Syria as a stepping stone for Russia to come down to Israel and the others would come too.

So things to watch as it is all hotting up.
