The Forming of the Body of Christ. Paul`s Third Missionary Journey.

Paul`s Third Missionary Journey. (AD 53 - 56) (Acts 18: 23 - 21: 26)

4. Truth - the Day of Christ.(Corinthians)

While on Paul`s third missionary journey, at Ephesus he wrote to the Corinthians. Paul wrote in detail concerning the Body of Christ and the Holy Spirit`s gifts.

`For as the Body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.` (1 Cor. 12: 12)

He reveals that the time period of the forming of the Body of Christ is called -

-         the Day of Christ, (or more fully, the Lord Jesus Christ).

This time period is before the Day of the LORD (God Almighty for judgment). Together these `Days` time periods reveal God`s prophetic Calendar as the Last Days. These are the Last time periods as God completes His purposes for the Body of Christ, for Israel and for the Nations.

`I thank my God always concerning you.....so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of the Lord Jesus Christ.` (1 Cor. 1: 4 - 8)

Paul writes in great detail concerning this great mystery.

`We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed - in a moment, ...for this corruptible must put on incorruption and this mortal must put on immortality.` (1 Cor. 15: 51 - 53)

5. Truth - the Great Truth of Grace. (Romans)

Paul was intending to go to Rome and thus he desired to give the believers the distinctive truths which had been revealed to and through him. These statements of the great doctrines of grace were needed to stand against the legalistic teachers.

`For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.` (Rom. 1: 16)

He also wrote of the great promises to the nation of Israel to be fulfilled and of the Gentiles and Jews coming into Christ as His Body. Thus, pointing out the two distinctive purposes of God.

`For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved.(Rom.11: 25 & 26)

The Body Of Christ started with the early Jewish Apostles, and some Prophets and some teachers...1 Corinthians 12:28.

We the CHURCH are espoused to the Husband Christ note that in a marriage, the bible says, the Husband rules and the Wife should submit and obey.

Revelation 19:7-9

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

here it says that the BODY OF CHRIST Is the LAMB=THE BRIDE Of The LAMB & therefore the Bride of CHRIST.

The Last days; is a time period that commenced from  Christ's crucifixion

The Mystery of the Rapture

interesting possibility, was that Paul thought that Jesus Christ would come back in his lifetime. Paul at this point didnt realise that the church age, which is what we are in currently, was to be for 2,000 years

Quote

52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

The Saved in Christ will be the ones to be Raptured, which is why it is so important to get Saved, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 this tells us WHAT Christ did for us, he died for our sins, was buried , rose again on the 3rd day according to Scripture. when we believe we receive Eternal  Salvation. This will make you Rapture ready.

this is another mystery, The Mystery of the Restoration of Israel; Proof that God is not done with the Jews. Israel is blind to the fact that Jesus Christ is their Messiah. until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in, now if i remember correctly that is referring to the Rapture event when the Saved Church will be going in the Rapture. and then the time of Jacob's trouble will commence. This time period is the time that the nation of Israel will be saved.

Hi mabel,

That is not correct. I will start with the truth and then show why people get it wrong.

TRUTH

It is Israel who is the wife, the bride of the Lamb.

`your Maker is your husband the LORD if hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;...` (Isa. 54: 5)

`I will betroth you to me forever; Yes I will betroth you to me in righteousness and justice...` (Hosea 2: 19)

In Mark we read of the Lord being the `bridegroom,` and He is talking to Israel. (Mark 2: 19) And the wedding feast in Matt. 25, is the Lord connecting to Israel again. Then the fulfilment is in Rev. 19: 7 where we see the `wife,` Israel ` will be again united (married) to the Lamb. The word `bride & marriage,` are symbols of the Lord uniting with His people Israel again.

Misinterpretations of Scripture.

Eph. 5: 22 - 33. This is an exhortation to husbands to love their wives. It does NOT say that the Body of Christ is now female.

2. Cor. 11: 2. Here the Apostle Paul is talking to HIS disciples that he wants to present them to the Lord pure as a virgin. Paul DOESNOT present US to the Lord. It is the Lord Himself who will present us to Himself. (Jude 24)

These scriptures cannot be the basis of a doctrine.

Hope that is clear. Marilyn.

Thanks Maz its good that you have gone through this with me. it does surprise me that the study i am doing, he is a stickler for rightly dividing and context. still that is a big blip. as the verses you quote. Isa 54:5 + Hosea 2:19 + Mark 2:19 + Matt 25 + Rev 19:7 (dealing with the Jews in Jacob's Trouble), is all Old Testament dispensation. which in simple terms, (in my understanding) means its a time when God was dealing with the Jews and the Gentiles were without God, they had their Pagan god's..but when Jesus Christ died on the Cross that started the NT because it takes the death of a testator to start something new.

will go back and go through this because as you say it does Not say...
