BABYLON THE GREAT.

In 609 BC Nebuchadnezzar came to power and was made by God to be the ruler over the great Empire of Babylonia. The center was Babylon. It became the largest city in the world at that time.

`You, O king, are a king of kings. For the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, and glory, and wherever the children of men dwell, or the beasts of the field and the birds of the heaven, He has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all.` (Dan. 2: 37 & 38)

The `Hanging Gardens of Babylon,` ranked as one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

God revealed to the king, through Daniel that he was the first in a line of Gentile kings to rule the world.

`After you shall arise another kingdom inferior to yours; then another, a third kingdom….which shall rule over all the earth. And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron…..

And the final kingdom, `shall be divided…`  (Dan. 2: 39 – 41)

Babylon was taken by the Medes and Persians, then followed the Greeks and Romans. There has not been a world ruler since then. God`s word tell us that the final ruler of the world will again be in the city of Babylon, of the Islamic Empire.                                                                                                                                               (Rev. 17: 18,  18: 21)
