Jesus - Jesus the Lord over the Nations in the Millennium.
Jesus the Lord over the Nations in the Millennium.
After Jesus has brought judgment upon the rebellious, He then sets up His kingdom rule through Israel.
`Many nations shall come and say, “Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us of His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.” (Micah 4: 2)
A man named David will rule as king.
`And they shall serve the LORD their God and David their king.` (Jer. 30: 9)
Priests will be judges with him.
`the priests, the Levites,….shall teach my people the difference between the holy and unholy….in controversy they shall stand as judges and judged according to my judgments.` (Ez. 44: 15, 23 & 24)
Other people in Israel will also receive authority to serve the Lord.
`After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. So, he who received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, “Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.”
His lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. ` (Matt. 25: 19 – 21)
The Lord`s rule over the nations will be with a rod of iron.
`The LORD said to my Lord,…..rule in the midst of your enemies! ` (Ps. 110: 1 & 2)
`You shall break them (nations) with a rod of iron. ` (Ps. 2: 9)
Then over a period of time the Lord puts down all rule and all authority and power.
`Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts and end to all rule and authority and power. For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.
The last enemy that will be destroyed is death….
Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all. ` (1Cor. 15: 24 – 28)
