Jesus - Jesus the Lord in Eternity.
Jesus the Lord in Eternity.
Jesus the Son of God is the heir of all the Father`s estates. As Kingpriest He rules supreme with His sacrificial heart. Then as Lord He administers and executes the Father`s will, even in the ages to come.
The Father `seated Him (Jesus) at His right hand in the heavenly places far above all principalities and powers and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet.` (Eph. 1: 20 & 22)
From the beginning Jesus in His Lordship was carrying out the Father`s will.
`You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands; they will perish, but you remain; and they will all grow old like a garment; like a cloak you will fold them up, and they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will not fail. ` (Heb. 1: 10 – 12)
The Lord not only created the heavens and earth, but He also upholds them.
`God, who at various times and in different ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He had appointed heir of all things, through whom He made the worlds,
Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power…` (Heb. 1: 1 – 3)
Finally, the Lord will destroy this old earth with fire.
`the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. ` (2 Peter 3: 10)
Then the Lord will make a new heavens and new earth.
`And I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away... ` (Rev. 21: 1)
`For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind. ` (Isa. 65: 17)
