THE TERRIFYING BEAST.
Like a stone thrown into a pond and causing ripples, the Gulf war made a decisive impact throughout the Middle East and beyond. The resulting effect has caused a new alignment of nations previously considered of second class status. This is causing a remarkable shift in the balance of power. As it continues, it will forge a confederation of infinite prophetical significance, precisely foretold twenty-five centuries ago.
Increasing tensions and wars in that area have made it conspicuously obvious that the world finds itself confronting the consequences of the global march of Islam. The most sadistic and formidable confederacy ever encountered, is emerging from the obscurity, frustration and economic deprivation of centuries. Their complete ruthlessness has been shocking as vividly demonstrated in Iran, Iraq, and recently Syria.
Let`s now look at Daniel`s vision in chapter 7 and assess the evidential descriptions there in relation to the contemporary scene.
Daniel`s vision –
`After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth, it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it, and it had ten horns.
I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.` (Dan. 7: 7 & 8)
A Terrifying beast –
`The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from all other kingdoms and shall devour the whole earth, trample it and break it in pieces. ` (Dan. 7: 7)
This fourth Super Power, Islam, is already on the world scene & will have its fulfilment when a Messiah like figure brings them together. It has clearly shown its `iron teeth` with great cruelty across the globe.
A little horn -
` The ten horns are ten kings who shall arise from this kingdom. And another shall arise after them; he shall be different from the first ones and shall subdue three kings.` (Dan. 7: 24)
Here we read of the rise of this `Messiah like figure.` He comes in quietly & subdues three nations for his power base. We are told that he is an Assyrian, (Isa. 31: 4,5, & 8) Ancient Assyria comprised the 3 nations of today – Iraq, Syria & Jordan.
After the conflict in those areas we will see, I believe, a mediator arise who will bring in peace. He will become the region`s leader. Through his cunning and deceit he will deceive many.
`Through his cunning he shall cause deceit to prosper under his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity.` (Dan. 8: 25)
