GLOBAL CHARTER
The United Nations – Moral Values.
To achieve these Sustainable Development Goals the United Nations has issued a Global Charter of common values. It is called the `Earth Charter.` The document makes a declaration for a just, sustainable, peaceful global society and its mission is to promote –
`a global society founded on a shared ethical framework.`
Here is a cause to unite all political and religious leaders. Here are common values that people of every religion will give their allegiance to.
Note the infrastructure of church organisations throughout every society is ideal for spreading its message. The Earth Charter`s message of `changed minds & hearts,` has a `form of godliness` but denies the power of Jesus and His sacrifice for us. Today, thousands of organisations throughout the world are adopting and implementing the Earth Charter.
`...a common destiny beckons us to seek a new beginning.... this requires a change of mind and heart...`
Global Moral Values & their meaning.
These are – respect, responsibility, justice, trustworthiness, civic virtue & citizenship, etc. We would agree with these moral values as we know from God`s word, but that is not what is meant. Here are a few examples –
RESPECT – like tolerance & inclusive – means appreciation for people & lifestyles (pagan & promiscuous, different sexual preferences……)
RESPONSIBILITY – refers to the `common good` of the community, where individuals must yield to the collective interests. (Socialism)
CIVIC VIRTUE & CITIZENSHIP – are also open ended. Compliant citizens must be ready to conform to changing rules & evolving duties.
