  1. No, BELIEVER, the 1000 years is a literal 1000 years. I already knew what the first part of the name you chose for the board meant. I trust, since I don't know you, that you believe on Jesus for your salvation? Not trying to be mean, I'm just new here. Really, on the "shortly coming to pass" thing I think you're just being silly. What is "short" to God since He knows the end from the beginning, etc.? What is short means to us does not apply to Him.
  2. Don't understand your comment about me following whatever and reaping what I sow, as if I don't follow the Word of God, YHWH. Time is for the finite, why would an infinite God have to abide by the rules of time? Further, time was given to man to mark seasons, etc. God uses the vehicle of time to make himself known to man, and fulfill His divine plans and purposes. This thread is really confusing as it seems you all think the earth is much older than it is.
  3. I see there is a great need to rightly divide the Word. Even when some of you see what the original languages were portraying you still are stubborn and reject the truth. In love, I correct you. These things, for the most part, have not come to pass. You must learn to compare scripture with scripture, line upon line and precept upon precept-- and not with your preconceived ideas.
  4. Hi all! Just thought I'd add my two cents to this thread. Rev.1:1 "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which gave unto Him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and "signified" it by His ange unto His servant John:" The word "signified" does not mean using a symbol or symbolism. It may mean that in the dictionary which is not a reliable source (a) because the bible was not written in English and (b) our language's words have changed meanings over time. In order to get a clear understanding you have to look at the original language and its context. The word translated in English as "signified" is the Greek word "semaino" which means to indicate, or in our understanding communicate. The Revelation does contain some history. Read if you will read chapter 12. There it describes the woman who represents Israel giving birth to a son. Then the serpent, the devil trying to destroy the child and the child is caught up to God. Now the fact that the serpent had dragged down one third of the stars in heaven represents satan taking one third of the angels with him in his being cast from heaven which we know also has already happened. We know also that the 7 churches in Asia Minor which Jesus addresses were 7 literal churches, however they represent the church down through history and you can see all 7 of them within the church today. Now, Jordon, for the most part the book is yet to be fulfilled I can sight many examples which you may spiritualize away, but one of the most blatant is that Israel has not returned to God, nor do they for the most part accept Jesus as the Messiah. Even more blatant, where are the new heavens and the new earth, where is the heavenly new Jerusalem whose measurements are 1500 miles square? You say that the Roman Empire has been destroyed completely, yet we see it rising from the so called ashes in the guise of the European Economic Union. I don't see how anyone can read the signs in Matt. 24:4-8, and say they don't see the birth pangs beginning to intensify. I mean no offense, but you'd have to be deaf, dumb, blind, and foolish not to read the signs. If all has been fulfilled then what is our blessed hope? Where is the glorious appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ? I'm sorry, but this truly smacks of dominionist theology that we will through our own human device set up God's Kingdom here on earth, and it is heresy. Let us all be like the Bereans and search the scriptures daily. And let us all learn,as the Apostle Paul admonished Timothy, to rightly divide the word of truth.
  5. Very well said, my brother. Very well said.
  6. No, I'm sorry but it doesn't read that way. You all are assuming that the day of Christ is the rapture which it is not. The day of Christ is His literal return to earth to do battle. Please, read 2Thess. 1: 6-10. The Day of Christ and the Day of the Lord are synonimous. Love you all.
  7. As far as the Bible Codes go, i will not say that they are not there. I forget the exact scripture in the Bible that got the Rabbis and Kabbalists looking for them for centuries. If someone out there knows it please refresh my memory. In any case, I am willing to believe there validity for a couple of reasons. First of all, there is the "gematria". Each letter of the Hebrew alphabet has a numerical counterpart. Secondly, the very fact that rabbis and kabbalists have been searching for them for centuries means a lot. I believe even Isaac Newton worked on them himself. It also makes sense that God would use whatever means available to get the attention of an unbelieving Israel. Makes sense to me also that God could use Bible Codes to help protect Israel during the tribulation. While general information is given concerning various battles throughout the tribulation, perhaps God would use the Bible Codes to get specific military info etc. to Israel. As far as Hal Lindey or Grant Jeffries are concerned, I won't say I agree with them or any teacher, preacher, etc. 100%. The Bible itself says we see in part and know in part. Just a little clarification on Hal and UFO's---HE thinks they are a deceptive device used by Satan and I agree. I also agree with his doctrine and chronology of end times events. Grant has some interesting and thought provoking books. If you haven't read either author, do so. In any case, if someone's doctrine of biblical prophecy is off it doesn't concern me, it's their doctrine of salvation that does...and on both counts these gents are right on. I love you all and really enjoy these discussion boards.
  8. Looking forward the hearing the Lord call my name! Woohoo!
  9. The Ecumenical Movement is a very sad thing. There can be no compromise! I once heard someone ask a preacher who did he think would be part of that one-world church at the end, to which he replied, all the churches who's preachers were still here. All joking aside, the Word of God says, the Lord our God, is one God. It also says, ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BABTISM. His name is not Jehovah and Allah and Buddah and Krishna, etc.! That's why the world hates us folks...because we tell them the truth, that if they don't receive Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, they will go to ####. God didn't compromise with the world, He made a way for us all to be saved and loved us all, but He is Holy. He shall hold ALL accountable who have considered the Blood of Christ an unholy thing.
  10. I agree that it is close, even at the doors. No we can't know the exact day or hour, however we shall know the season. Just a note on the "generation" thing. The literal Greek used for that word "generation" in the passage of scripture you guys are referring to actually just means "the people living at that time". I believe that time began when Israel became a nation in 1948, while it is important that Jerusalem be the capital, remember that it will be trodden down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. Even in the temple that will be rebuilt during the Tribulation, there will be an outer court for the Gentiles. How close to the end are we? Well let's see, we have Israel back as a nation, and it's rapidly becoming a cup of trembling to the whole world. We have the revived Roman Empire in the form of the EU, have to have that as the antichrist will come from them. We have famines, earthquakes, incurrable diseases (pestilences) increasing at an alarming rate around the globe. We have the means now to track and control the ability of every person on the earth to buy or sell, via the implantable chip that our great world leaders are promoting. We have the potential for another world war . . . making "peace treaties" all the more needful. How close are we? Are we still here?
  11. The Book of Revelation is the Prophecy Central of the Bible and as such it contains both history (prophecy fulfilled), and things prophesied to come. I beg to differ on the issue of the rapture not being referred to in the Book of Revelation. Chapters 2 and 3 refer to the seven churches in Asia which were both literal churches during the apostle John's day and yet, they were also figures or types of the Church down through history and currently here on earth. However, chapter 4:1, begins with a door being "opened" in heaven, and a voice "as a trumpet" saying "Come up hither and I will show you things which must be hereafter". After that, you no longer see the church mentioned except where we are in heaven. To me that is exciting!
