The rapture question is first one of ecclesiology, then eschatology. If you understand who the church is, it is not hard to understand why it is not part of the seventieth week.
-
What do you mean? a trap?

Cheers Ted.

This is a great contradiction. During the tribulation there will be large numbers saved, but there will be a great falling away at the exact same time? So what do you think happens? Those who are believers before the anti-Christ appears fall away and the unbelievers get saved? Just a big religious flip flop you say?
-
The parable of the sower tells us there are always some who fall away because of persecution and such. That is regardless of eschatology. Are trying to stir the mind to an eschatological point of view or to a deeper commitment and closer walk with the Lord. If it is the latter, I may suggest some other approach. This leads to the assumption that an eschatological view implies a shallow relationship and that one is serving the Lord for the things he gets and not for the grace of God in his life.

This is an extreemly offisive question to me. The implication is that my faith and others who know their bible well enough to know the correct timming of the rapture is only good as long my bank account is full .. blah blah blah. Tickle your own ears with this nonsense. If the pre trib is wrong we will know it at the time. I can only die once and in the Lord's time I will, or be raptured. I accept that, either one.

I don't think Catholics 'evangelize' in the sense that the word is generally used among protestants.

Could you tell us a little of your husband's reaction to the facts about Free Masonry?

Hello ScientificAtheist OK... Here is the genealogy of Jesus as God that you speak of. There are three genealogies given for the Messiah. John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God. Mark is the only Gospel with out a genealogy and that is because he portrays Christ as 'servant'. Nobody bothers with a servants genealogy.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. If someone died 1000 years ago, they would not get to heaven at the same time as someone who died today. When we are caught up to be with the Lord and receive a glorified body, in that sense, we might arrive in heaven at the same time (but that is stretching it since we are already there at different times). Are you referring to a science fiction space-time continuum or something (=groundless speculation)? Not exactly, once you leave this body, it is quite possible that time no longer effects your perception the way it does here. Consider the book of Revelation and other prophetic writtings. It appears the concept of time becomes rather blurred wouldn't you say.

He is there, but not just there with you. He is in you. I think the way to feel closer to Him is to think about Him all the time or every bit possible. He is with every thought you have, day and night. Everything in our lives begins with Him, is accomplished through Him and ends in Him. If there is a way to get closer to Him than knowing that in your heart at all times, I don't know what it is. Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Joh 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. Joh 15:9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. Joh 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

That's right. Jesus Hold My Hand As I travel through this pilgrim land There is a friend who walks with me Leads me safely through the sinking sand It is the Christ of Calvary This would be my prayer dear Lord each day To help me do the best I can For I need Thy Light to guide me day and night Blessed Jesus, hold my hand

Our spirit is but the will that controls it often is not. Rom 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

I was just reading the last book in Mere Christianity. Lewis is talking about the life of God. He says if we live in a two dimensional world we can draw shapes in two directions, like three squares. They would be individual pieces in a two dimensional world. They could be joined on one side, but that would alter the shape to a rectangle or something irregular. If we rise to three dimensions the three squares can be joined together and still retain their squareness but they become a single object being a cube. I think that helps.

I think it is quite possible that no matter when you die, we will all get to heaven at exactly the same time.

Thanks for your reply Bob and one way. This is the bottom line from the text you quoted: Only by the quickening power of the Holy Spirit may we be brought out of this state of spiritual death. It is God who makes us alive, as we become His craftsmanship (Ephesians 2:1-10). To understand this doctrine, here is the question then. What role does man

OK. If the definition of total depravity is as you say then wouldn

Those are good jamie. Most of them I never heard. Thanks. I'm not sure what this one means though: WHEN ADVERSITY COMES, THE SINS OF YOUR PAST WILL RISE UP TO COMFORT YOU -
-
Thanks Adstar. At this rate, I should make red some time in 2007. :sweating: I have decided that the fifth one and the sixth one are mutually exclusive and contradictory. They can not both be true. If man is totally depraved, he can never make a right choice to accept Christ unless the Spirit of God directly intervenes and over-rides his will. Since He obviously does not do that for all men, then Christ did not die for the sins of the whole world but only the elect. Totally depravity is Calvinism, which denies Who-so-ever-will. You should get this straightened out with your church right away Youth Pastor

I'm going to say I don't agree with "totally depraved". Depraved DEPRAVED, pp. 1. Made bad or worse; vitiated; tainted; corrupted. 2. A. Corrupt; wicked; destitute of holiness or good principles. People are depraved to be sure, lost sinners without hope, but depravity is one of degrees and not totallity. I have to have some capacity for good, that is not Good as God is good (Isa 64:6), but good in that it is not totally bad. (Mar 10:21) Even the worst of men have to have some propensity leaning towards goodness that keeps him from being totally depraved in order to know that he is depraved. I just turned blue.
