In 1948 most people though the scenario to laughable. 60 years later not so many people are laughing. Many "Americans" today are all too happy to trade their freedom for the mere promise of security and happiness. Rather than using the freedom to make their own happiness they would rather settle for hand outs and dictates. Cartoon "make mine freedom" made in 1948 At some point we might find ourselves inclined to accuse these people of ignorance but the truth is that they have literally been blinded to the truth. There's not much we can do but pray to God that their eyes are opened.

I don't think they give a damn about their so called "brothers" I expect they would write the deaths off as martyrdom and do it anyways. The problem with this is that the rest of the Muslim world might nit take kindly to seeing their brothers or the Mosque harmed. Such an act could potentially leave Iran out on a limb without the support they so often count on. Regrettably Iran continues to receive support from Russia and China only further emboldening Iran's leadership. What's more is whenever Iran begins to feel any pressure North Korea begins making noise in an attempt to draw away a share of the attention and divide the focus.

I received this in an email this morning and thought I would share it with my friends here at worthy. I do not know if there is any truth to who said these things but I believe what was said is the truth. You decide.

WN: Court hears arguments about cross on park land - AP
O'Dannyboy replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
Personally I think it's unconstitutional to hide such displays. If these atheists don't like the display let them erect one of their own honoring the soldiers. One that doesn't focus on mocking the other displays. They really do take this separation of church and state stuff out of context. "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." It does not say "THE establishment of a religion" as in the creation of. It says "AN establishment of religion". In essence they were saying ( congress shall make no law favoring any religion). Nor should it make laws that single out or persecute a particular religion or prohibit the free exercise of it. But this is exactly what it happening. Around the country hate filled people are targeting Christian displays and memorials. Especially those on "public" land. These people act as though the government is showing favoritism to Christianity by allowing them to place crosses yet there are no other religions asking to place such symbols elsewhere that are being denied. I could understand their argument if there were discrimination but it seems to me that these people are simply out to squash religion in any form that the government chooses to permit use of public land to. It just so happens that Christians are the ones diligently erecting such displays and so have become the atheists primary target in their battle against religion. IMO -
Well, everything you said is absolutely correct. And, by not kicking these career politicians out...we've brought it on ourselves. Yeah. This is what happens when "we" become comfortable and complacent. We take things for granted, such as independence and freedom. We allow ourselves to fall into a collective melancholy that provides the perfect environment for greedy and selfish people to flourish. It's not until we've properly riled ourselves out of our stupor that we can fully see what is happening right before our eyes. We have been too trusting for too long and now we are paying for our ignorance.
-
Not "we". The politicians that are supposed to represent us have done this. They stopped representing us a long time ago and we permit them to remain in office far beyond their usefulness. We have members of the senate that have been there 35 years. 35 YEARS! These are the sponsors of corruption and the ones who teach the junior "representatives" how to manipuate the system. We need to clean house of the old dogs and introduce some that are not so skilled at fleecing and foolking the people they are supposed to be looking out for.

WN: Senate Panel Rebuffs Obama; Restores Abstinence Funds - NewsMax
O'Dannyboy replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
It would be if they would leave the sex ed to the parents. They blame promiscuity on the children yet they are the ones facilitating it by educating them in the first place. Now they have even gone as far as to teach children about same sex relationships in school. When does it end? It ends when the schools/government stop teaching our children those things that should be the parents responsibility. Personally I would prefer that they learn it from their not so upstanding friends then to learn it in school. The odds would certainly be in the parents favor at that point IMO. -
Kudos to Pat Boone.

Good for them. Abstinence is the way to go, not handing out condoms to 6th graders. -
WN: Recession Plunging More Americans into Poverty - VOA
O'Dannyboy replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
Just what Obama and the liberals want. The more desperate you are the more appealing they look. They want people to look at them as the solution. What they don't want is for the people to realize the government created the problems to begin with. This is not change and it most definitely is not improvement. -
WN: Liberals seek health-care access for illegals - Washington Times
O'Dannyboy replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
I will agree that everyone should have unfettered "access" to health care. The difference here is that there are those in government who are trying to give them access to "public option" government subsidized health insurance. Instead of fixing those things that make insurance so costly they will "redistribute" wealth in the form of government provided insurance subsidized by our tax dollars. What's more is they wish to make health insurance mandatory.....even for those who are young and healthy. They are simply going about this the wrong way. They aren't fixing anything but rather trying to "overhaul" the system the way they want it. -
WN: Iran's missiles are 'ready to destroy Israel' - Londo
O'Dannyboy replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in World News
Yeah, what we don't know is how many more of these missiles they currently have. Was the test missile their only one? Do they have only one more? Two? More? The thing is they are basing their range on what the Iranians are saying and not on any real tests. It also begs to question that if they are still "testing" these missiles it's likely these missiles have not seen any large scale manufacturing. Again it seems to me that Iran is busy talking big, like Iraq was, in order to intimidate their enemies when the truth is they are cowards at heart. -
WN: Iran's missiles are 'ready to destroy Israel' - Londo
O'Dannyboy replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in World News
Yeah right. Iran is just puffing up for the rest of the world to see. If they really had any power they would not be wearing it on their sleeve as they do. This is why, despite being so powerful, they send cigar boats out to harass battle cruisers. This is why they continue to fund and equip terrorists instead of fighting their own battles. They are a bunch of insolent and petulant children bullying their neighbors because they wont fall in line and play by their rules. -

O'Dannyboy replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
They have "access" to health care already. Just ask around in your neighborhood emergency room. What they don't have is government subsidized health insurance, which is what the liberals want for them. Why? Because it would secure them more votes in the upcoming elections. -

WN: Sunstein: Force broadcasters to air 'diversity' ads - WND
O'Dannyboy replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
It's just another way of saying he believe the government should be able to "force" the people to listen to what THEY want us to listen to. They only way they can do this is by proxy. Since they can't control what we listen to they will try to control what is available for us to listen to. All in an attempt to squelch opposing viewpoints. -
WN: Sunstein: Force broadcasters to air 'diversity' ads - WND
O'Dannyboy replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
This man is clueless. I wonder how diverse he is willing to allow his neighborhood to get before he stops trying to force it on the rest of us. Secondly they government shouldn't have the power to FORCE the the people to do anything. -
Just requiring actual doctors to perform the abortions would raise the costs of the "procedure" enough to discourage it considerably. Meanwhile doctors are required to advise patients on the risks associated with other "procedures" so why not on abortions as well? These butchers are making money slaying unborn children and they don't want that to change.

WN: U.S., Switzerland sign treaty to share tax info - USA Today
O'Dannyboy replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in World News
From what I am reading we could certainly learn a few things about democracy from Switzerland. According to Wikipedia : Any citizen may challenge a law that has been passed by parliament. If that person is able to gather 50,000 signatures against the law within 100 days, a national vote has to be scheduled where voters decide by a simple majority of the voters whether to accept or reject the law. Boy that sounds wonderful. Citizens voting on something other than who will make decisions on our behalf ( read for us). -
Awesome indeed. I'm disappointed the press didn't give it the attention it deserved but ultimately there's only one who needed to hear the prayer.

WN: Democrats Still Run Against Bush in N.J., Va. - NewsMax
O'Dannyboy replied to WorthyNewsBot's topic in U.S. News
The Republicans do EXACTLY the same thing. What's the difference between lack of honor and ethics with a 'D' or lack of honor and ethics with an 'R'? It's politics as usual. Did I mention democrats specifically? No. These kinds of politics do not reflect the kind of character needed to get this country back on track, regardless what political party they cling to. No, YOU didn't mention Democrats but that's what the OP is about. Were you answering some other post or ..... ??? You quoted me, not the op, therefor I took your post to be directed at me. Perhaps I'm mistaken but it always seems to me that the democrats are the ones to draw first blood when it comes to character assassination. Sure republicans have no qualms about firing back but it seems to me they try their best to run a campaign based on merits and character. Perhaps it's just a matter of perception. Of course I know it doesn't matter who started it, as our parents used to teach us, but once the fighting had started it seems any sense or morality flies out the window. I've seen the results of trying to avoid being drawn into these petty brawls when Booby Jindal first ran against Catherine Blanco for Governor of Louisiana. He lost because he tried to keep things civil while she on the other hand was willing to hit below the belt. Such is the state of politics. Ultimately they all seem to resort to tactics making it hard to distinguish who are the leaders and who are the politicians. -
