  1. Like I said before, I thought it was the "spirit" of the law that was important. Does God really care which day we recognize as the Sabbath? I am not completely convinced. There is a person who reply to you saying
  2. Since priest isn't going to answer this, anyone else want to take a shot? Just because its your work week doesn't make it His does it? Sunday is listed on our calendars as the first day of the week and Saturday or the Sabbath as the seventh, regardless as to which day one starts their work week. Its not about you or me but about Him. Let me ask you this what day does your church say you meet on? the first day of the week like most churches do? if so are you not out of step with their calendar days? Now I know many do not accept that we can even know which day is the Sabbath yet I think that throughout all these long years it does seem we can use our calendar with some confidence. Again its not about what we say, what we think its about what God has said, what He designed and implemented, the 10 sayings are pretty clear what God decided, His seventh day His Sabbath and not by our reasoning can we make it any different. Amen to that, and here is a verse that goes with this: Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death. The warning is against trusting to the guidance of the conscience without checking the conscience constantly against the teaching of the Word of God.

  5. Why would it matter? Whatever day you choose to keep the day, it is the Sabbath, right? My Sabbath is Sunday. I have to disagree. Even that for you is OK; for God is one day more important than others and that is the Seventh-day of the week. And I am sure that your pastor knows this, to prove it just tell him that since any day is the same, you decided to keep the Sabbath on Saturday. You'll see what he says.....lol. Rom 14:5 One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. Some conclude that these verses state that it does not make a difference to God which days we keep. I believe that this is just a repetition of what somebody says; but not what the Bible or the word of God says; otherwise we'll see so many contradictions in the Bible. In order to grasp the true intent, we must read starting where the context of the subject begins, not just these two verses. Verses 1-4 identify the subject in context as vegetarianism, not which days should be kept. Notice: "5 One man esteems one day above another: another esteems every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He that regards the day, regards it unto the Lord; and he that regards not the day, to the Lord he does not regard it. He that eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he that eats not, to the Lord he eats not, and gives God thanks" (Rom. 14:5-6). Does Paul state here that Jesus, by His death, did away with the very days He kept during His whole life? No! Does he say, "God esteems one day above another" and "God esteems every day alike?" Again, no! Please I beg you to read it more carefully. The verse says, "One man esteems one day above another." This is telling us that it was what men were teaching, not what God says. Christ is not going to judge us by what any man believes. He will judge us by His Word, the Bible. "
  6. I do care, I am sorry for not answer your question before. Here are some things that should be done on the Sabbath; I want to be clear that this is not my saying but the word of God. 1. The Sabbath is a day to cease our creating, working with the creation, and appreciate what God has done in the world and is doing in us. Genesis 2 2. Elaborate food preparation is to be done on the day before the Sabbath so that there is no baking or heavy cooking on the Sabbath. Exodus 16 3. The Sabbath is a time to lay our burdens down and rest. We should not do any servile work on the Sabbath. This includes our entire family, even our servants and beasts of burden and strangers who live among us. Jeremiah 17; Exodus 20 and Deuteronomy 5 4. The Sabbath is an holy convocation. We should meet and worship with others. Leviticus 23 5. We should be reverent and show God that we love, honor, and respect His authority. Psalm 89:7, Habakkuk 2:20 6. The Sabbath should be a day of delight and rejoicing, a day which we forsake our thoughts and words for God's thoughts and words. Isaiah 56, 58 7. The Sabbath is a time of healing. Matthew 12, Mark 1, 3, Luke 13, 14 8. We are not to buy or sell on the Sabbath. Nehemiah 13 9. The Sabbath is a time to do good and visit and comfort the sick. We should do spiritual work on the Sabbath, serving others. John 5 10. The Sabbath is a time of prayer. Acts 16:13 11. The Sabbath is a time to reason with others about spiritual principles, and for ministers to teach the word of God. Acts 17:2, 18:4, 11 12. The Sabbath is a time for Singing. Ephesians 5:19-20, Colossians 3:16, Psalms 92 is called the "Sabbath Psalm"
  7. Please show me the passage that says the Ten Commandments are above and better than the rest? SHow me the part that says they are the "LOVE" Commandments. Show me the part where the Bible says we are to keep the Ten, but banish the rest? when Jesus was asked about the greatest Commandment, why didnt he answer with the 10, or even with one of the 10? Sure my friend; first of all Jesus call His laws the law of love: Matt. 22: 36-40. "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?" 37 Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' 38 "This is the first and great commandment. 39 "And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' 40 "On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." Now, if you read the commandments; you

  10. History of religion reveals that it was way long after the death of the apostles that a politico-religious system repudiated the Sabbath of Scripture and substituted the observance of the Sabbath for the first day of the week. This may shack some but here are some quotations, all from Roman Catholic sources, freely acknowledge that there is no Biblical authority for the observance of Sunday, that it was the Roman Church that changed the Sabbath to the first day of the week. And no one can prove this different, is in history. James Cardinal Gibbons, The Faith of our Fathers, 88th ed., pp. 89. "But you may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify." Stephen Keenan, A Doctrinal Catechism 3rd ed., p. 174. "Question: Have you any other way of proving that the Church has power to institute festivals of precept? "Answer: Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her - she could not have substituted the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday, the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority." Daniel Ferres, ed., Manual of Christian Doctrine p.67. "Question: How prove you that the Church hath power to command feasts and holy days? "Answer: By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of, and therefore they fondly contradict themselves, by keeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same Church.' Catholic Virginian Oct. 3, 1947, p. 9, art. "To Tell You the Truth." "For example, nowhere in the Bible do we find that Christ or the Apostles ordered that the Sabbath be changed from Saturday to Sunday. We have the commandment of God given to Moses to keep holy the Sabbath day, that is the 7th day of the week, Saturday. Today most Christians keep Sunday because it has been revealed to us by the [Roman Catholic] church outside the Bible." Peter Geiermann, C.S.S.R., The Converts Catechism of Catholic Doctrine p. 50. "Question: Which is the Sabbath day? "Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath day. "Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday? "Answer: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday." Peter R. Kraemer, Catholic Church Extension Society (1975),Chicago, Illinois. "Regarding the change from the observance of the Jewish Sabbath to the Christian Sunday, I wish to draw your attention to the facts: That Protestants, who accept the Bible as the only rule of faith and religion, should by all means go back to the observance of the Sabbath. The fact that they do not, but on the contrary observe the Sunday, stultifies them in the eyes of every thinking man. We Catholics do not accept the Bible as the only rule of faith. Besides the Bible we have the living Church, the authority of the Church, as a rule to guide us. We say, this Church, instituted by Christ to teach and guide man through life, has the right to change the ceremonial laws of the Old Testament and hence, we accept her change of the Sabbath to Sunday. We frankly say, yes, the Church made this change, made this law, as she made many other laws, for instance, the Friday abstinence, the unmarried priesthood, the laws concerning mixed marriages, the regulation of Catholic marriages and a thousand other laws. "It is always somewhat laughable, to see the Protestant churches, in pulpit and legislation, demand the observance of Sunday, of which there is nothing in their Bible." End of quotetions. Well, this is something to think about.
  11. Well lets start with Rom 6:14, was Paul confuse or is you the one that is confuse, the reason that I say this is because Paul said so much about the law of God: Romans 7:12 Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good. Please notice that he said
  12. My dear friend, can you please tell me where in the Ten Commandments says that? Of course not, because the Ten Commandments of God are commandments of LOVE. Don't confuse with other commandments that were suppose to banish; but the ten are permanent a God is. By the way there were many penalties of death for braking the commanemts; one of them was adultery; So, what that means for you now? It is OK to commit adultery? Think about it. It will help a lot if you mention where in the Bible says that. But I know exactly what are you saying a complete misunderstood of the word of God. Jesus clearly said that He didn

  16. I am sorry my friend; but you cannot call Sunday (day of the sun) Sabbath. No body of any denomination can call Sunday the Sabbath day. Why? Because in the Bible the seventh day is the Sabbath day. not Sunday.
  17. this was said by a man named Jesus. If you think we can trust Him, this is what He says: "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven. AMEN
