  1. Sorry Shawneeda...the did believe in the divinity of Christ. But if they didn't..who cares? They DID NOT write the greek text they published. Check out the life of Erasmus. He "prepared" the greek text used in the KJV. He was not a southern Baptist.... - Steve
  2. Well said Dad. The only version from God is in Greek and Hebrew. ALL the english versions are translations. Some do a better job of accurately communicating God's message to man than others. But no translation is perfect. One newer translation that has really impressed me is English Standard Version. - Steve
  3. RCruse, Lana is right and the discussions regarding translators is fruitless. The english monarchy were never nice or righteous folks...they were usually bloody killers without any regard to the right and wrong. King James was no different. I do not claim to be a scholar of the Greek or Hebrew languages. My expertise is Medicine. The point was that the KJV is only a translation. Its hard for me to see the point that a papyrus copy of Peter's epistles dated AD 200 would be inferior to Byzantine texts which are copies around a 1,000 years later. God did preserve them both...but its a stretch to accept the authority of the Byzantine just because the King James translation team used it. The blessing today is that we can compare the earliest and oldest Greek manuscripts!! What an awesome assurance it should give us that God would preserve a piece of eternity in His book to us. We should spend less time defending a particular translation and more time ensuring that new translations choose the best words and word structures to most accurately convey God's message to a lost and dying world. - Steve
  4. well...true under the Mosaic economy...the King when led by God would have the blessings given to his decrees. To extend this into the new covenant...to England...to an evil King...is a bit of a stretch. The KJV-onlys should take an English history class. But it doesn't really matter. The KJV could have been named anything. The only thing that matters are the hebrew/greek texts that the TRANSLATION is based upon. I only post that for those who what to decry the evil Westcott and Hoyt. - Steve
  5. True...judgment begins in the House of God...and much is required of those that would be teachers, pastors, evangelists. Shame on us that we let the name of Christ be so abused. Justice. - Steve
  6. I think John MacArthur said it best. The fact that they have never walked through a children's hospital healing every precious little child...makes them all monsters. - Steve
  7. hahhhummmm (I yawn)...If only Paul and the prophets would have written in olde english instead all of that greek and hebrew stuff...it would be so much more clearer. The basic argument boils down to the KJOnlyism crowd believes that olde english is God's preferred method of communicating with the world. - Steve
  8. Hillson, Your link is broken and the post is a little confusing. - Steve
