  1. They were discussing your thread in chat, and it seems like everyone agrees that sexual attraction to your wife is not a sin, if that is the way you meant it.  Idolatrous lust, where you put your wife ahead of God would be, but it didn't come across to me like that is what you were speaking of.

my context of usage is in the reference given, please check it.. :)

  2. No, one cannot lust after their spouse, at least not in a way that is sinful.   Spouses are supposed to be sexually attracted to each other and want each other in that way.

1Th 4:1  Finally, our friends, you learned from us how you should live in order to please God. This is, of course, the way you have been living. And now we beg and urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to do even more.
1Th 4:2  For you know the instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.
1Th 4:3  God wants you to be holy and completely free from sexual immorality.
1Th 4:4  Each of you should know how to live with your wife in a holy and honorable way,
1Th 4:5  not with a lustful desire, like the heathen who do not know God.

    Emphasis mine...

  3. As I see it no, because in I Thessalonians 4:3-5 it speaks of fornication (v. 3) than Paul tells us in v. 4, for one to possess his vessels in sanctification and honor to which the writer of Hebrews and even Paul address further in the following passages:

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.   Hebrews 13:4

Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every women have her own husband.   I Corinthians 7:2

So that we are told that marriage is honorable in all, and the bed is pure by the writer of Hebrews; while Paul tells us to avoid fornication let the man have his own wife, and woman her own husband.

I don't think he was talking about fornication, can fornication be committed with your own wife..?

  4. You can change that by clicking cover photo at the top and putting your own picture there

yes, i've done that several times actually, but it keeps going back to this same image... :)

Just wondering if i'm the only one having the issue...

I'm not sure what the issue is then. I didn't have any problem changing mine

    ok. thanks.

  6. What happens when a person has an abusive parent?

I don't know your intention for asking that question, it seems a bit off focus.. but to answer, i was only sighting an example...

the point is, i believe it is possible to respect someone and not trust them...

  7. I think that respect and trust can go hand in hand. How can you trust someone if you do not respect them?

I think the answer to that question would be yes...

I respect my dad because the bible commands me to honor him in the Lord, and in that honor respect is tightly packed with it... and i respect him secondly because age is not just a number, it is also experience... and because through him i came into being...

But i do not trust him to make the right decision for himself or for me.. either because he's old.. or maybe that's just the way he has always been.. or maybe because i'm just more educated...

Either way i think it is possible to respect someone and not trust them...

  8. What do you think about this statement? Respect is earned.

The statement is what i would call ambiguous (open to more than one interpretation; having a double meaning.) yes, respect can be earned.. yet sometimes, you either respect someone or you don't...

And there are usually levels of respect... lol...

Like trust, i would naturally trust everyone not to slap me in the face at the bus station, but i wouldn't trust them to choose to save me when it comes to making a choice between themselves and me...

To me, the same applies to respect... i respect everyone enough, yet... i respect some specially who have earned that special level respect...

And in my opinion, Respect and Trust really work together..

    :)

  9. We witness by how we live.  Actions speak louder than words.

So I assume that these are people who already know you that you both are talking about.  Know you go to church/ are a christian.  What about those who don't know that?  As I said in my OP, how can somebody connect it to that without knowing why you are exhibiting that salt and light.

I believe in living the life, yet i believe in saying it... :)

  10. “We want compensation for the plagues that were inflicted upon [us] as a result of the curses that the Jews’ ancient forefathers [cast] upon our ancient forefathers, who did not deserve to pay for the mistake that Egypt’s ruler at the time, Pharaoh, committed,” said columnist Ahmad al-Gamal, in a column in the Egyptian daily Al-Yawm Al-Sabi.

    LOL
