One thing that many of us, myself included don't usually like to think about is Christians being killed. The fact is that every 3 minutes of every day 1 Christian will die for their faith, that's around 480 Christians each and every day of the year. The qualification for martyrdom is simply one of position...that is being "born again in Christ"....then the outworking of being a martyr would come from those who oppose scriptural truth, usually because these persecutors hate their darkness being exposed. You only need to get vocal about your faith at work, in the street, or any public place for that matter to experience persecution. Taken to the extreme this persecution ends in death. While it is true that every religion can and does claim varying degrees of persecution, non are more persecuted than believers in Christ. Right now every day around 500 Christians "per day" die for their faith at the hands of those who hate Christ and all He stands for? Somber thoughts I know, but it is the truth.

Wow, this is an old thread...glad you started it! I've been an avid student of eschatology for over 20 years now, and I once believed in the pre trib rapture of the church but not anymore. I found that when I prayerfully looked into the "plain reading" of scripture post trib made more sense. Now, I'm not going to give scripture verses here because many of you have already done this. But I will say this...if you're looking, really looking with a prayerful and open heart you will see the truth of the post trib too.
