For the longest time I had no idea how to pray, and I always heard about prayer journals.. It took me a while to start one, but I finally did. I used it for a few months, but I felt like my prayers weren't coming from my heart. I wrote my prayers out for each person I wanted to pray for and read like from out of a book everynight. This last week or two I quit using it, and have been asking God to teach me how to pray "correctly".. but I haven't had any revelation. I know theres really no "right" way or "wrong" way to pray, but this is something I have struggled with since meeting God. I hear people pray and they make it sound so beautiful and warm, and mine feel so forced. Can anyone give me any pointers for.. I guess.. a "beginner" praying person? Thank you and God bless!

LOVE it! AMEN! God bless you and your wife! Gods been calling me to do something like this, but the preparation has been long. i now have an almost 6 month old boy and i have no idea where God is going to take me, but i trust what He has put on my heart.

Mark 8:34-36 34 And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 35 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel's will save it. 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul? does this not also imply that we are to deny the things of this world that we want to follow Christ in a faith-filled walk with him?

Every path is valid, even if it appears someone is going "away" from God. Remember, God expresses through each of us, the "saint" and the "sinner". ( edited by botz...the link is against the ToS of these boards, and teaches New Age spirituality. ) -

if Hes teaching us ALL the same truth then why are there different religions? why are there unbelievers? like ive said before, Hes waiting for an appointed time to reveal all. -

Perhaps He has led you here so you can learn what is true. maybe.. or maybe He led me here to spread a little light on what this world as led people to believe. only He knows. I don't believe what I do because the world led me to believe it. I have read the Bible through more than a dozen times and the New Testament more than 20 times. I have been studying the Bible since I got saved 29 years ago. youre where you need to be in your life. -

like i said, i knew that when i started this, it wouldnt be nicely welcomed. what you believe is right, is right for YOU, in your walk with God. two weeks after coming to know God, He put in on my heart that we are all missing something. and He has done an amazing work. i never thought i would believe in God let alone want to change the world with Him. He let me know from the get-go that few people were going to understand it and i would be outcast because of it. but its His will, not mine. and i want to be with Him. i know that i dont always say the right things, right now i believe im in a season of practice. some times i say things and then later on God brings them to my attention and then revises what i said. i understand completely where you all are coming from, but if i were to deny what i believe i might as well deny God Himself. i am not perfect, by far, and i dont know all the answers, but God is leading me to be where im supposed to be. -

Dear One There Is A Lier (And He Is Real) Now the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said to the woman, "Indeed, has God said, 'You shall not eat from any tree of the garden '?" Genesis 3:1 (New American Standard Bible -

i agree that animal sacrifice is no longer needed. that was peoples way of "making up" (so to speak) for their sin because they didnt have Christ. but, i already said this, if there was anything that God wanted His people to be separated from, we should still be separating ourselves from that. -

I was just reading this post you wrote, and there are a couple of things that I find troubling. You say in reference to God, "He's not just Him, He's us." What do you mean by that? It sounds like you are saying that we are God. Then you say, "We are the body of Christ. Not just the believers, EVERYONE." Are you saying that even the pagans are the body of Christ?" Neither of those comments are scriptural. im not saying WE are God. but God is us. God put Himself in us, so that we could live. im not saying that without us Hes not Him, but we are a part of Him. and without the pagans we wouldnt have an example of what pagan is... and then the world wouldnt have been shaped the way it needs to be. But are you saying that the pagans are "the body of Christ?" Are you saying they are going to heaven when they die? the pagans wouldnt be alive if it werent for God living in them. satan, who is the master of sin and the reason for sin, is the one who is going to suffer in hell for misleading us. if it werent for Christ and Gods love and mercy we would ALL, even the believers, be going to hell. we are told, not only to have faith, but to repent. and there are things that we today wouldnt consider to be sin, but that doesnt make them sin. women are not supposed to wear mens clothing (pants) we are not to paint on our body (make up is paint) there were certain ways God said our hair should be men are not supposed to shave their face and if men arent supposed to shave their face, i cant imagine its ok for women to shave their legs. we are supposed to be modest, do you really think God looks at a female wearing a two piece swim suit, and is happy with it? we might as well walk around in our underwear! and numerous others my mom tells me, "its a different time, God understands that." just because Christ came and died for our sins, it didnt exclude the law. the law doesnt just say that being gay is wrong, or that cheating on your spouse is wrong. or that just looking at porn is wrong. I agree with some of the things you said that are in scripture, and other things I don't see as in the Bible. I do agree with you about pants, and hair. The Bible doesn't address make-up. Men aren't to shave in a certain way that is a form of worship of idols. There is nothing in scripture forbidding women to shave their legs. We are to be modest. Homosexuality is mentioned in the New and Old Testament as being a sin. Thou shalt not commit adultery is one of the 10 Commandments. The sin of porn is that it leads to lust. Rather than turning this into a thread arguing over specific sinful behaviors, I think we should focus on your point in bringing this up? Is it to say that these things no longer apply? When it comes to sinful behavior, if it was wrong then, it is wrong now. The question is, are these things all sins? There are things in the Old Testament that no longer apply because they dealt with the office of the Levitical priesthood or they were to show Israel to be separate from the idol worshipping nations around them. Nothing simply ceased to apply because it was "a differen't time." Again, I don't want to argue specifics here because that will simply take us into left field. IM not saying that these thing cease to apply. im saying that christians (in general) think that just because Christ died for us that some things dont apply. and whether or not something was a sin in the past to separate us from another group of people, shouldnt we still be separating ourselves from these groups? after believing in Christ we are to repent from ALL sin, not just the ones we think apply. -

i started this knowing that i wasnt going to get a welcoming response. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. -

i was pregnant last year and had a high risk pregnancy and unable to work. i spent anywhere between 3 to 9 hours a day reading the Bible. and like i said before "God didnt want me to be filled with head knowledge of the Bible, He wants me to filled with His knowledge. and the same goes for everyone. if you get so caught up in what the Bible says, then youre getting filled with head knowledge and not leaving any room for God take you out the christian "box" and to do something extraordinary." -
